Anyone who works in education, including teaching assistants, support staff, caterers and maintenance staff, retired education workers, and lecturers and professors, can all get the discounts.
Discounts for Teachers says its 1.5million members save £2,262 a year - or £188.50 a month - using the app.
This includes £265 in transport and travel savings, £259 in grocery savings, and £186 on mobile and TV.
You can also save up to £214 on your utility bills with the app.
Some of the brands that will give you money off include B&M, Burger King, TIU, George at Asda, Ikea, Halfords, Jet2, and Ocado.

Discounts for Teachers claims it offers higher savings than the Blue Light Card, which is popular among emergency, NHS workers, and teachers and is provides savings of up to £800 a year.
Gareth Jones, the boss of Network Digital, which owns Discounts for Teachers, said: 'We're proud to support teachers every day.
"This app launch is about building a deeper connection with our teacher community – making it easier, quicker, and more rewarding to benefit from the savings they deserve."
How to apply
You can sign up by visiting www.discountsforteachers.co.uk/register-1 and filling out the registration form.
You'll be asked to provide a work email address or a valid document to prove you're eligible.
If you work in the education sector but can't see your job on the list, Discounts for Teachers will still allow you to join.
It states on its website: "There are so many roles in the education sector that unfortunately we can't list them all on our registration form.
"Please select the closest match and be assured that all staff, in any role, are entitled to our discounts."
What is the Blue Light Card?
The Blue Light Card is typically available to NHS staff, emergency services, social care workers, and armed forces personnel, offering around 15,000 different discounts.
The scheme was extended to teachers last year, but only to primary and secondary school teachers, as well as those in Sixth Form colleges and Special Schools.
Staff that work in higher education are not currently included in the scheme.
When it was announced the scheme would be extended to teachers last year, the website and app crashed due to "unprecedented demand" on the system.
If you're eligible for the card, you can get a digital one for free or it costs £4.99 for a physical card, which lasts two years.
To be eligible for a Blue Light Card, you' ll need to prove your profession by uploading a form of valid ID or recent payslip.
To sign up, just head to the Blue Light Card website where you'll have to fill out a form.

Top-rated app loved by millions to shut down as Microsoft reveals it's about to vanish from stores and stop working
Users say they are upset as popular app faces axe APP'S OFF Top-rated app loved by millions to shut down as Microsoft reveals it's about to vanish from stores and stop working Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) AN APP that has been used by millions is being ditched. It will be phased out in just a few weeks. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 1 The app, which can turn documents and whiteboards into shareable files, is on the way out The Lens PDF scanner has long been popular as it can quickly turn documents and whiteboards into shareable files. That, however, has not been enough to save it from being dumped by Microsoft. It will be retired on Android and iOS later this year. It comes as two popular apps used by millions of mobile users also shut down earlier this month. The scrapping of Lens PDF scanner, one of Microsoft's most popular mobile utilities, has caught many users by surprise. One wrote on Android Authority's messageboard: "Well that's a dumb idea, it's the only useful Microsoft app aside from outlook, and it's the only one that functions without issue (especially when considering outlook). Another posted on the same board: "Very sad. That was a great app." Timetable for dumping Microsoft has reportedly announced that the phase-out will start in mid-September 2025. At this point, the new installs from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store will be disabled. The app will disappear from both stores by mid-November. Users will then be unable to create new scans entirely after December 15, as first reported by Bleeping Computer. Existing scans will remain viewable in the MyScans folder after the cutoff date. There is a silver lining, though. Microsoft is nudging people toward its Microsoft 365 Copilot app instead. That app offers many of Lens's core features, though it reportedly lacks some popular extras. Lens's demise is part of a broader Microsoft effort to upgrade its apps. In recent months, the company has, among other initiatives, announced the end of Microsoft Publisher in 2026. I paid £20 for Tinder and can't stand little-known loophole desperate guys use It has also scrapped Paint 3D from the Microsoft Store. Subscriptions stopped Mobile apps Pocket and Glitch also closed this month. Pocket was removed from app stores in late May, when sales of subscriptions also stopped. But Pocket's Premium subscribers may be owed refunds for the remaining time left on their subscriptions. A subscription for the read-it-later app costs $4.99 per month or $44.99 (£32.99) per year. So if you paid for an annual membership that will not be fulfilled, you should expect some money to be deposited back onto the card you used for payments. Mozilla, which owns the app, said annual subscribers will receive their refunds after 8 July. No action is necessary - just wait for the money to land. It's worth noting that while the app shut down this month, users have until October 8 to download their saved data before all Pocket data is permanently deleted. The Glitch app, aimed at web developers, is also handing out refunds to its subscribers. Those who forked out $96 (£70) for an annual Glitch Pro subscription and have paid time left will receive a refund. Users have until the end of the year to download their projects before all the data is wiped for good.

The document that can save expat retirees thousands
When you finally quit the workforce, you want to make the very most of your free time and live the best life you can. For some this means heading for sunnier climates, perhaps to a villa overlooking the glittering Mediterranean or one with views of rolling hills in Tuscany. There were 480,906 recipients of the British state pension living in the European Union as of August 2024, according to the latest figures from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). Many of them may be spending on expensive private health insurance while they live abroad – but one document could mean they can access NHS levels of free healthcare. Here, Telegraph Money explains everything you need to know about the S1 form and what it entitles you to. This guide will cover: What is the S1 form and who should use it? How and when to make an application How to use an S1 Healthcare when you're visiting the UK Do you still need health insurance while living abroad? Does the S1 cover spouses? What is the S1 form and who should use it? An S1 form, also known as a certificate of entitlement, provides access to state-provided healthcare in an EU country, as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Switzerland – with the healthcare costs covered by the UK. You can use it if you're retiring to one of these countries, as long as you're eligible to receive a UK state pension. This is because the state pension is classified as an 'exportable benefit'. There are others, too – meaning you may also be eligible for an S1 if you're eligible for UK benefits while on maternity, paternity or adoption leave and living in a qualifying country. It can cover healthcare for your dependants, too. In this instance, you'll need to fill out form CA8454. However, as of 2021, you're no longer able to get a new S1 form on the basis of receiving the following: Disability living allowance Personal independence payment Carer's allowance Attendance allowance. If you had an S1 form issued before Jan 1 2021, you'll continue to be covered while you're still receiving these benefits, and you may still be able to renew an existing S1 form too.

Thousands of households have just days left to apply for free cash worth up to £320 – can you get it?
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) THOUSANDS of households have just days left to apply for free cash worth up to £320. Hard-up households can get support via the government's Household Support Fund (HSF). Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 1 The scheme has reopened for struggling households. Credit: PA The scheme has been extended multiple times with the latest round running between April 2025 and March 2026. Each council in England has been allocated a share of the £742million fund and can distribute it to residents in need. Eligibility criteria varies based on where you live but usually help is offered to those on benefits or a low income. And now struggling households in North Northamptonshire can apply for supermarket vouchers worth up to £320. The scheme was closed due to high demand but has since reopened. Households have until August 25 to apply, giving struggling families in the area just two weeks to submit an application. How much you can receive depends on a number of factors including how many people you live with. For example, a single person can apply for a £150 voucher and a two-person household will get £260. Meanwhile a home with three people or more will get £320. Cllr Greg Wilcox, the council's executive member for communities, said: "This fund is designed to reach those who need a helping hand, and it is great news that we are now in a position to reopen for applications." Families can get FREE washing machines, fridges and kids' beds or £200 payments this summer – and you can apply now "And I would encourage anyone who is struggling and thinks they might be eligible to apply as soon as possible." Applications are expected to take two months to process and will be dealt with in the date order in which they are received. To access HSF funding applicants need to fill in an online form and upload payslips and proof of identity, bank statements, ideally using a computer. You can find out more by visiting, What if I don't live in North Northamptonshire? The £742million Household Support Fund has been shared between all councils in England. So, if you don't live in this area but are struggling financially or are on benefits you will likely be eligible for help. This is because the fund was originally set up to help those on low incomes or classed as vulnerable. What type of help you can get will vary but it could range from a free cash payment to supermarket vouchers. For example, Wealden District Council has opened applications for residents - and free cash worth £200 is up for grabs. To qualify, you need to be aged 18 or older, living in the Wealden District Council Local Authority area and be receiving one of four benefits: Universal Credit (that also includes the Housing Costs element) Housing Benefit Council Tax Reduction an SMI (severe mental impairment) exemption and would therefore otherwise be entitled to a Council Tax Reduction Meanwhile, Bromely Council is offering struggling households £150 payments in the form of virtual energy cards, council tax credit or supermarket vouchers. You have to be over 16 and living in a Bromley postcode to apply. You also will be required to prove the following.
