KPDN raids illegal store, 1,800 litres of diesel seized
IPOH: The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) seized 1,800 litres of diesel in Kampung Kepayang here yesterday which was found stored at a premises without a permit.
KPDN Perak director Datuk Kamalludin Ismail said enforcement officers from the state KPDN office conducted the raid at the premises at about noon under Ops Tiris.
'The syndicate's modus operandi is to buy diesel from unlicensed suppliers and then store the fuel in illegal stores before selling it to industries in Ipoh at a lower than market price,' he said in a statement today.
Kamalludin said the raid resulted in the seizure of 1,800 litres of diesel, two intermediate bulk containers (IBC) and hoses, as well as a lorry, with a total value of the seizure estimated at RM55,270.
The case is investigated under the Control of Supply Act 1961.

KLUANG: The Johor Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) successfully busted a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) misappropriation activity in Kampung Parit Haji Hashim, Simpang Renggam, here at 6 pm yesterday (May 28), with seizures totaling RM61,000. 'A total of 247 gas cylinders were found, and the modus operandi of this syndicate was to purchase subsidized LPG cylinders at RM26.40 per cylinder and transfer the content to industrial cylinders. 'Each industrial cylinder can be filled with the equivalent of three subsidized LPG cylinders, allowing this syndicate to reap profits of between RM50 and RM70 per cylinder, with a selling price of between RM120 and RM150. 'This misappropriation activity is also believed to be targeted at the black market,' she said at a press conference here today adding that although no arrests were made, further investigations are ongoing to identify the landowner and individuals involved in the activity. According to her, remote locations within plantations like this are often used for misappropriation activities because they are difficult for authorities to detect. The case is being investigated under the Control of Supplies Act 1961.

Five men detained in Shah Alam for alleged diesel fraud, over 7,000 litres seized in KPDN raid
SHAH ALAM, May 29 — The Selangor branch of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) detained five men suspected of diesel fraud using subsidised fleet cards yesterday. KPDN state director Mohd Zuhairi Mat Radey said the suspects, aged between 30 and 45, were arrested during a raid on an illegal storage site in Sri Muda, Section 25. The operation, involving 25 KPDN officers and the Selangor Police Contingent headquarters, took place around 7 pm following a month-long intelligence gathering. 'We seized a 30-ton tanker truck, four canvas trucks, two bonded trucks each carrying intermediate bulk containers (IBC), a van and a modified prime mover,' he told reporters after the operation concluded late last night. Mohd Zuhairi added that over 7,000 liters of diesel were recovered from 14 IBC tanks with 1,000-litre capacity each, along with equipment such as motorised pumps and connecting hoses believed to be used for illegal extraction and transfer of diesel. He said the premises lacked a valid license to store subsidised diesel, while the detained bonded truck drivers also did not possess legal documentation to hold the controlled item. 'The modus operandi involved bonded truck drivers using fleet cards to purchase subsidised diesel at petrol stations around Shah Alam,' he explained.
