DCU's NuBar has paid a heartfelt tribute to a beloved bartender following his death.
Allan Stevenson was a well-known face around the northside student bar.
In an emotional statement, the NuBar said on Instagram: "It is with a very heavy heart we tell you of the passing of our dear friend Allan, our colleague and, most importantly, our friend.
"Fly high, Al. May you get the best bed in heaven."
Friends, family, and former DCU students took to the comments to express their grief. One person said: "Sending lots of love to the NuBar family. Allan was an absolute gent."
Another person said: "Only fond memories of Allan and the NBar team. Sorry to hear. He will be very missed."
A third commentator added: "Allan, bro, you will be missed, pal. A genuine gentleman. May you rest easy now, buddy. So, so sad. Condolences to Allan's family."

Oasis to open Dublin pop-up store ahead of Croke Park concerts

More info Oasis have announced the launch of a pop-up shop in Dublin ahead of the band's Croke Park gigs. The Oasis Live '25 reunion shows come to Ireland on August 16 and 17. Ahead of the gigs, fans will have the chance to snag a range of Oasis Live '25 clothing and accessories, including exclusive, limited items and special brand collaborations as well as exclusive merchandise and vinyl. The location of the store has not yet been confirmed but fans can register here to attend a special launch evening ahead of the official opening. Those wishing to attend can register their interest here. Registration closes at 8pm this evening. The successful applicants will be chosen at random and notified from Thursday, June 19. There is less than a month to go before the Britpop legends return to the stage for the first time in 16 years. The reunion shows kick off in Cardiff's Principality Stadium on July 4 and 5 before the Manchester group play a series of homecoming shows at Heaton Park and five dates at Wembley. The band will then play two gigs at Murrayfield in Edinburgh before heading to GAA HQ on August 16 and 17. The reunited line-up features Liam and Noel Gallagher alongside new drummer Joey Waronker and returning guitarists Gem Archer and Bonehead with Andy Bell resuming bass duties. The group are currently rehearsing for the tour with Noel telling good pal Bono he is "shocked" at how good the band are sounding. During an appearance on Apple Music 1 with Zane Lowe, Bono said: "They're both funny. I'm still very close with Noel, and he sent a message to me saying he's kind of shocked by how great the band is [sounding at rehearsals]. I think we're going to have a good summer." Footage emerges of Conor McGregor 'throwing two punches' in Ibiza nightclub

More info Footage has emerged which appears to show former UFC world champion Conor McGregor throwing punches inside an Ibiza nightclub. The incident is alleged to have taken place at the Pacha nightclub on Tuesday morning. Earlier in the week, McGregor was seen on the party island with TV personality Katie Price. The Dubliner could be seen wearing a hat and sunglasses in a photo taken with Price and her friend Ryan Mira. Now, according to footage shared by The Sun and seen by the Mirror, McGregor can be seen appearing to peer down to address an unidentified man on the dancefloor. Moments later, he appears to throw two punches., connecting with the second. The individual falls to the floor moments after he seems to be struck by the second of two punches. The music playing at the club continues throughout. Moments later, individuals standing close to McGregor appear to get in between him and other revellers. Mirror Sport has approached McGregor's representatives for comment. McGregor has seen a number of UFC comebacks postponed in recent years. He last entered the Octagon in 2021, losing to Dustin Poirier in the third match of his trilogy with the American. He was scheduled to make a comeback in the sport in 2024, with Michael Chandler identified as his opponent. However, McGregor was forced to pull out after suffering a toe injury. "The fight that never happened, what could have been yeah. I would be lying to you if I didn't say that it was a tough moment, but overall, if people can look at their lives and realise that all the bad things that have happened to them usually work out for their good if they continue to stay diligent and work hard and believe," Chandler told Mirror Fighting in November 2024. "Every single bad thing in my life, every single setback in my life, every single loss in my life has always turned out to be a good thing at some point. You look back and say 'Okay I'm able to learn X, Y, and Z because of it. I was able to grow as a human being, I'm in a great spot'. "But during the process it was tough. Being the guy on the other side of the headlines with Conor McGregor is tough because he is so up and down and says a lot of things and he's always in the media.
