The Italian Football Federation - also knows as the FIGC - announced on Thursday that they withdrew the club's professional status and license.
The FIGC released the following statement: "The FIGC Federal Council takes note of the refusal to grant Brescia Calcio a national license for the 2025-2026 season and therefore to accept it to play the 2025-2026 Serie C season."
Brescia started this season in Serie B but failed to pay debts of more than £2.5million.
The Lombardy giants were promoted to Serie A in 2019 but were relegated the very next season.
Things went from bad to worse last term as they were deducted four points amid their financial woes, which saw them drop to Serie C.
Rolando Maran's side initially managed to secure their place in Serie B as they finished 15th.
However, Brescia were hit with an eight-point penalty - four for this past season and another four for the next one - due to administrative offences.
That saw them drop to 18th place, which ultimately led to relegation to the third division.
Brescia are owned by Massimo Cellino, who was in charge of Leeds between 2014 and 2017 before buying the Italian side eight years ago.
Cellino had a troubled tenure in Yorkshire and left amid fan protests and much discontent.

Now Brescia are facing a very uncertain future that could see them disappear altogether.
This is a famous Italian club that has seen a raft of legendary players wear the jersey.
That includes current Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, who is part of a rich alumni page that includes Roberto Baggio, Andrea Pirlo, Luca Toni, Marek Hamsik and Mario Balotelli.

James Stunt told a Crown Court jury earlier this year that he had insisted on a prenuptial agreement which would limit his share to £16 million in the event of divorce. But does the bullion dealer, whose marriage to Formula 1 heiress Petra Ecclestone ended in 2017, now wish that he had sought rather more? I ask because the 43-year-old godson of convicted crime baron Terry Adams seems dogged by financial woe. Declared bankrupt in 2019, he is now, I can disclose, perhaps destined for another legal tussle, this time in the High Court, rather than Leeds Crown Court, where he was cleared three months ago of all charges relating to a £266 million money-laundering operation – unlike his four fellow co-defendants, three of whom remain on the run. His company, Stunt Acquisitions Ltd, is the subject of a winding-up petition – a legal means of forcing a company into compulsory liquidation due to unpaid debts – issued by Westminster City Council. 'I can confirm we have served a winding-up petition relating to non-payment of business rates,' a council spokesman tells me. There is no comment from Stunt, who owns at least 75 per cent of the company, but I'm told that one of his fellow directors believes the petition contains 'a number of factual errors' and is seeking to have the petition withdrawn. That may prove rather optimistic, as I understand that the company owes more than £170,000 in unpaid business rates relating to its occupation of offices in Leconfield House, Mayfair – once the London HQ of MI5 but now owned by flamboyant entrepreneur Robert Tchenguiz. In the glory days of his marriage to Petra, Stunt routinely asserted that he, like his then father-in-law, Formula 1 tycoon Bernie Ecclestone, was a billionaire. But observers were – and have remained – sceptical, especially after The Mail on Sunday revealed the existence of a bogus email sent from Stunt Acquisitions. It purported to be from Nicolas Descharnes, the world's pre-eminent authority on the works of Salvador Dali – and was crafted so that it appeared to have been sent from Descharnes's home address in France. Its contents were still more disquieting, seemingly showing that Descharnes had authenticated a painting as an 'original Dali' and declared it, and a preparatory sketch, to be 'beautiful work and a great discovery'. The bogus 'authentication' was, in fact, for a painting which Descharnes had examined in the offices of Stunt Acquisitions – and had declared a fake within minutes. Despite this, the 'Dali' – entitled Corpus Hypercubus 1953 – was lent by Stunt to Dumfries House, the magnificent Palladian pile in Ayrshire saved for the nation by King Charles. Perhaps further details will emerge on July 30 – the date on which Westminster's winding-up petition will be heard. Jose Mourinho has paid an emotional tribute to Diogo Jota after the Liverpool star's tragic death at the age of 28. The former Manchester United boss described his fellow Portuguese as a 'really nice guy' and said Liverpool will now 'suffer together' as they mourn one of their own. Jota and his brother Andre Silva, 26, died in a car crash in northern Spain early on Thursday morning after a tyre on Jota's Lamborghini is believed to have blown out while overtaking. The vehicle rolled and burst into flames, with emergency services unable to save the pair. Their deaths have sent shockwaves through the football world, with tributes pouring in from figures including Cristiano Ronaldo and Liverpool boss Arne Slot, who described the forward as 'very special'. Now, Mourinho has added his voice to the tributes, recalling his own experience of losing a young player in a car crash while working at Porto and expressing hope that Jota's memory will give Liverpool 'even more soul' as a club. Speaking to Sky Sports, Mourinho — who is now in charge of Fenerbahce in Turkey — said: 'When people leave this world, normally we all say 'such a nice guy'. Diogo was really a nice guy. 'He had my agent, so of course I knew a lot about him. And people in Liverpool know what I'm saying is true. He is a kid who nothing was easy for him, he had to fight to arrive where he arrived. 'Three kids without a dad, a young woman without her husband, the parents lose both sons... it's crazy. It's difficult to understand. Maybe one day we will understand but not now. 'It happened with me many, many years ago when I was working at Porto with Mr [Bobby] Robson. One of our boys, a loved boy, died in a car crash. Instead of the boys suffering alone it was like the group suffered together and trying to fight for his memory. It was a boy Rui Filipe and we were champions, I think, for him. 'In Liverpool they're going to suffer together. The club is a fantastic club. I think they are deciding to take away the shirt number 20. At Anfield he will always be part of the family and maybe they lose a player but maybe they win even more soul than what they have.' Liverpool have indicated that Jota's No 20 shirt will be 'rightly immortalised' following his death, with discussions taking place over formally retiring a squad number for the first time in the club's history. Jota — who scored 65 goals in 182 games for Liverpool after joining from Wolves in 2020 — had only just married his childhood sweetheart Rute, the mother of their three children, less than two weeks before the crash. The Portuguese forward, capped 49 times by his country, was on his way back to Merseyside for pre-season training, having been advised to travel by road following recent lung surgery. A vigil for Jota was held on Friday at the Chapel of Resurrection in Gondomar, near Porto, ahead of the funeral on Saturday morning. Outside Anfield, flowers and scarves have been laid in tribute, with fans in tears as they mourn one of their champions. Liverpool manager Slot said of Jota: 'Diogo was not just our player. He was a loved one to all of us. 'He was a teammate, a colleague, a workmate and in all of those roles he was very special. Hard work, desire, commitment, great quality, goals. The essence of what a Liverpool player should be. 'The last time we spoke, I congratulated Diogo on winning the Nations League and wished him luck for his forthcoming wedding. In many ways, it was a dream summer for Diogo and his family, which makes it all the more heartbreaking that it should end like this. 'My condolences go to Diogo's wife, Rute, their three beautiful children and to the parents of Diogo and Andre Silva. When the time is right, we will celebrate Diogo Jota, we will remember his goals and we will sing his song. 'For the time being, we will remember him as a unique human being and mourn his loss. He will never be forgotten.' I know you will always be with them. 'Rest in Peace, Diogo and Andre. We will all miss you.'
