Tyrese Haliburton signed with PUMA Basketball in October 2024, effectively becoming the face of their new campaign. It wasn't long before Haliburton debuted his first signature sneaker, the PUMA Hali 1, before Game 1 of the NBA Finals. The shoes created instant buzz and will see a ton of hype as Haliburton makes an anticipated return to the court.
The first PUMA Hali 1 debuted in a 'Hibiscus' pink colorway perfect for the moment of the NBA Finals. However, with lead sneaker designer Salehe Bembury at the forefront of the concepts, we're bound to see some interesting and vibrant ensembles in the coming months.

In a photo posted to Bembury's socials, we see Tyrese Haliburton laying on his couch with a walking boot in the air. Clearly, Bembury paid Haliburton a visit to introduce some sample concepts and colorways for the Hali 1's upcoming releases. Thanks to his work over at New Balance, Bembury has released some of the most sought-after collaborations over the last 10 years. His involvement in a performance basketball sneaker like this is a first of its kind.
The PUMA Hali 1 is expected to release in the debut 'Hibiscus' colorway sometime during September 2025. The shoes will release through PUMA platforms and are likely to be stocked at various PUMA Basketball retailers. As far as debut sneakers go, this is certainly shaping up to be a hit from Haliburton and Bembury.

While adding a veteran All-Star to his team could yield his first trip to the NBA Finals since his lone season with the Boston Celtics in 2022, Udoka is happy to see Durant in a winning situation with the Rockets. He's eager to get started and says Kevin is, too, as the two reunite from Ime's days as an assistant coach for the Brooklyn Nets and Team USA. For the first time in Durant's career, Udoka is his head coach, and the Rockets' head coach can't wait to see Durant lead his team by example, just as the veteran Rockets players who came before him did. 'His day-to-day routine is very similar to Fred [Van Vleet] and Dillon [Brooks], and Jeff [Green], and the vets that we brought in,' Udoka said. 'I think he takes us to another level with his work ethic. Seeing him in practice in Brooklyn and for Team USA, he would almost go through practice to get to his routine. Los Angeles Lakers superstar Luka Doncic is back in the United States, although it likely won't be for long. Doncic, who will soon become eligible to sign a massive, long-term contract extension with the Lakers, posted on Instagram, seemingly indicating he is back in the States after time in Europe following a disappointing first-round playoff exit. 'Via his Instagram account, Luka Dončić confirms he has arrived in New York to begin his Jordan Brand promotional tour for his signature sneaker line,' NBA insider Marc Stein posted on X, formerly Twitter, along with a screenshot of Doncic's IG Story which shows a person in a suit holding a chauffeur sign that says Luka and has the Jordan Jumpman logo. Last offseason, Doncic, along with other NBA stars, went on a promotional tour of China for Jordan, during which Doncic walked on the Great Wall of China. At the time, he was still a member of the Dallas Mavericks, and now, he appears to be a rather content member of the Lakers. Despite that, Doncic is not expected to re-sign with the Lakers until after the conclusion of EuroBasket, which runs from late August to mid-September across four countries. Doncic was shockingly traded by the Mavericks to L.A. in February, ending a successful, nearly seven-year stint with the franchise, which reached the Western Conference Finals in 2022 and the NBA Finals in 2024, both with Doncic at the helm, leading the way. Upon his arrival in Los Angeles, Doncic initially struggled but soon found a groove and helped the Lakers fly down the stretch of the regular season, earning the third seed in the notoriously deep and tough Western Conference. But in the postseason, without an experienced big man and with Doncic hobbled and ill, the Lakers were smashed by the Minnesota Timberwolves in five games. A year earlier, Doncic and the Mavericks had beaten Minnesota in five in the conference finals. This offseason, while one of the longer ones Doncic has been able to enjoy during his NBA career, has not been without drama. In particular, Doncic's Lakers co-star LeBron James has been in the news consistently after his agent, Rich Paul, indicated James could ask for a trade. Media reports subsequently surfaced that detailed James' alleged annoyance at the Lakers' preference for and actions in support of Doncic. Additionally, Dorian Finney-Smith, a close friend of Doncic who he played with for years in Dallas and this past season with the Lakers, signed with the Houston Rockets. The Lakers had acquired Finney-Smith from the Brooklyn Nets in December and had hopes to re-sign the wing.
