Nagpur: On the brink of divorce, 25 couples from Nagpur were reunited at the
Lok Adalat
through mediation. Family disputes were resolved with emotional reconciliation in an inspiring outcome of
legal outreach
.Among the many legal victories achieved at the National Lok Adalat in Nagpur, one of the most touching outcomes was the reconciliation of 25 couples who were on the verge of divorce.
Held across various district courts under the guidance of Judge DP Surana and coordinated by DLSA Secretary Sachin S Patil, the event also facilitated meaningful personal healing.These family disputes were part of a special docket that included civil suits, property divisions, and cheque dishonour cases.
"Through patient discussion and understanding, we helped 25 couples find common ground and resolve their issues. These families are now back together," said an official involved in the proceedings.Family matters were addressed in specially arranged panels at the Family Court and other designated centres, where trained conciliators, including retired judges, advocates, and social workers mediated discussions. "It's a reminder that the Lok Adalat is not just about legal settlement but also about rebuilding lives," said Judge Patil.In addition to the reconciliations, the Lok Adalat settled over 84,000 cases across legal domains. However, the reunited couples were the highlight of the day, with many walking out hand-in-hand, choosing peace over prolonged litigation. The event reflects the human side of the justice system and its power to offer a second chance — sometimes not just at justice, but at love and family too.
