Lok Adalat in Cuddalore, Villupuram on June 14

The District Legal Services Authority will organise a National Lok Adalat in all courts in Cuddalore and Villupuram districts on June 14. According to a press release, the special sittings will be held in the combined court complex in Cuddalore, and in Chidambaram, Vriddhachalam, Panruti, Thittagudi, Neyveli, Parangipettai, Kattumannarkovil, and Kurunjipadi, apart from the courts in the Villupuram district. Expeditious resolution Cases with elements of settlement, including those related to matrimonial disputes, property disputes, motor accident claims, land acquisition, cheque bounce cases, bank loans, and education loans, will be taken up. The amicable arbitration through the Lok Adalat will lead to expeditious resolution of long-pending litigations and the refund of court fees. It will also provide an amicable resolution for the parties concerned.

Koppal: The National Lok Adalat is set to take place in all courts of the district on July 12, providing the public with a chance to amicably and efficiently resolve their legal disputes, stated senior civil judge and member-secretary of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Mahantesh S Daragad. In a press release, he encouraged both litigants and the general public to seize this opportunity to settle pre-litigation and pending court cases through mutual agreement. "Individuals can resolve a range of disputes at the Lok Adalat, such as civil cases, land acquisition issues, bank recovery cases, applications, labour disputes, MMDR cases, cheque bounce cases, motor accident claims, matrimonial disputes, and compoundable criminal cases," he clarified. Furthermore, any court fees paid will be completely refunded if the case is resolved in the Lok Adalat. However, he noted that once a case is settled in a Lok Adalat, there is no option for appeal, which saves both time and money for the litigants.

National Lok Adalat to be held on July 12 across Koppal district: Judge Mahantesh Daragad

The National Lok Adalat will be conducted across all courts in Koppal district on 12 July, offering the public a golden opportunity to settle their legal disputes amicably and efficiently, announced Senior Civil Judge and Member Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Mahantesh S. Daragad. Addressing a press conference at the DLSA office in Koppal on Friday, Mr. Daragad urged litigants and the general public to make the most of this opportunity to resolve both pre-litigation and pending court cases through mutual compromise. He noted that the initiative is being conducted under the guidance of Principal District and Sessions Judge and DLSA Chairman C. Chandrashekhar, and will be organised in all courts of Koppal on the scheduled date. 'People can settle a variety of disputes in the Lok Adalat, including civil cases, land acquisition issues, bank recovery matters, applications, labour disputes, MMDR cases, cheque bounce cases, motor accident claims, matrimonial disputes, and compoundable criminal cases,' he explained. Mr. Daragad emphasised that resolving matters through compromise helps preserve relationships and leads to a mutually agreeable closure. Furthermore, any court fees paid will be fully refunded if the case is settled in the Lok Adalat. However, he pointed out that once a matter is resolved in a Lok Adalat, there is no provision for appeal, thus saving both time and money for litigants. He urged the public to fully utilise this chance to resolve disputes outside the regular judicial process. District SATHI Committee constituted Mr. Daragad said that, in line with the directive of the Karnataka State Legal Services Authority, the District SATHI Committee (Society for Assistance to Children in Difficult Situation) has been formed, comprising representatives from multiple departments including the DLSA, District Child Protection Unit, Child Welfare Committees, tahsildars from all taluks, education and health officials, officials from the Department of Women and Child Development, police, panel advocates, and para-legal volunteers. The committee's main aim is to identify abandoned children in the district who do not yet have Aadhaar cards and facilitate their enrolment. This step is crucial to ensuring that such children are legally entitled to government benefits. The public has been urged to inform the committee if they know of any such children. The Judge also announced that the DLSA, Koppal, invited applications for the posts of Chief Legal Aid Counsel, Deputy Chief Legal Aid Counsel, and Assistant Legal Aid Counsel. Ananthapur: As per the directions of the National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi, and under the guidance of the State Legal Services Authority, Amaravati, a coordination meeting was held on Monday in Anantapur to ensure the effective disposal of cases during the upcoming National Lok Adalat scheduled for July 5. The meeting was chaired by Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority and Principal District Judge, E Bhimaravu, along with the Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, N Rajashekar. Key officials from the Police Department, Revenue Department, District Jail, DCRB, and other district-level departments from the combined district participated. The District Judge emphasized the steps to be taken for the maximum settlement of cases during the Lok Adalat. National Lok Adalat '25: 219 cases settled in Nagaland

Dimapur : The second quarterly National Lok Adalat (NLA) 2025, conducted across Nagaland by District Legal Services Authorities under the aegis of Nagaland State Legal Services Authority, disposed of 219 cases with a settlement amount of Rs 2,38,99,111. Out of 219 cases , 192 were at pre-litigation stage and 27 cases were at the pending stage. The cases included mostly bank loan recovery, telephone bill, Motor Accidents Claims Tribunal and other consumer and civil cases, a release detailing the district-wise settlement of cases and settlement amount said on second quarterly NLA 2025 was conducted across the districts in the state on May 10. The NLA, also known as the 'people's court', is an alternative dispute resolution , which is aimed at reducing court backlog, providing access to justice for marginalised communities, and ensuring that disputes are resolved in a timely and cost-effective manner.
