The Avatar destination will transform part of the Hollywood Backlot area in Disney California Adventure. But there's sad news for some because in order to make room, Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! will close in early 2026. For anyone who's a fan of Monsters Inc., there is a new land opening up at Disney World's Hollywood Studios. It will have with the first-ever suspended coaster in a Disney Park. As for Avatar, there are official announcements about what will be in the land. But the concept images show a boat ride that looks similar to the Shanghai Disneyland version of Pirates of the Caribbean. It won't be the first Avatar-themed attraction in Disney as Pandora: The World of Avatar land opened at Disney World's Animal Kingdom in 2017. But Disney has said that it won't be exactly the same but instead will draw on "inspiration" from the other park. Called Piston Peak, the new land will allow fans to enter the fictional world of Cars with a National Park twist. Inside will be a new racing ride where visitors will drive through the mountains on wild terrain, avoiding geysers and mud holes. Disneyland Paris is going through a transformation too and is adding a whole new area called Disney Adventure World, which will eventually replace Walt Disney Studios Park. One of the very first areas to open will be the World of Frozen, and the Kingdom of Arendelle will open in 2026. Disney Adventure World will also feature a new "Lion King" themed area and log flume ride. One Sun Travel Reporter visited Disney's first music festival in Paris.
