The Origins of Bape Hoodies

The Origins of Bape Hoodies

Bape, an abbreviation of A Bathing Ape, was established back in 1993 and is a Japanese streetwear brand by Nigo. The very first moment people could see the eminent Bape line, it quickly became renowned due to exclusivity and unique authenticity. The Bape hoodie is arguably the most popular item of Bape, a streetwear staple that combines high-end bold designs with quality. This piece has become a cultural phenomenon embraced by celebrities and musicians worldwide, as well as streetwear devotees. It gained popularity due to its rarity and the craftsman touch attached to it compared to other pieces, leaving behind designs that are catchy enough to make a bold statement in fashion.
This makes Bape hoodies distinctive from the others. The most famous is the full-zip shark hoodie. It boasts the zip through the entire hood which truly works to create a very nice appearance of shark face and teeth. Of course, including commonly has camouflage patterns, lively colorways, and the well-known Bape logo-an indication of a monkey head. Made from the topmost quality cotton and fleecing materials, Bape hoodies keep one comfortable yet durable. Thus, they are an excellent combination of chic and efficient. Besides, attention to detail still intensifies their appeal-from the embroidered patches to custom zips and unique branding.
As one of the major influences in street fashion, Bape hoodies have become synonymous with exclusivity and status. Being that the brand is associated with hip-hop culture, it has established great popularity: artists such as Pharrell Williams, Kanye West, and Lil Wayne have been frequently seen wearing Bape apparel. The word from these music and fashion icons cemented the hoodie into pop culture. Besides this, collaborations with vast brands, including Adidas and Supreme, and even luxury-based fashion houses, have also cemented the reputation of Bape, thus making it a very desirable label in the domains of streetwear and high fashion.
Bape's limited production runs are touted as the main contributor to the things' in-demand status. Bape uses a scarcity approach in rolling out designs: they are produced in small quantities, with flocks of people seeking to buy them often seen lining up outside its flagship stores. This limited-issue method gives rise to a frenzy within fans and collectors alike, producing an atmosphere where every new design becomes an event that is highly anticipated. The resale market for Bape hoodies is quite alive, as rare pieces can sell for considerably more than the original retail price. Such exclusivity feeds into the hype and high desirability of a Bape hoodie.
Bape hoodies can be used to address different demands in styling, and they can be styled with a variety of other items depending on preference. A classic street-wear look usually includes an application of a Bape hoodie for a comfortable outfit with distressed jeans and sneakers. Minimalists prefer wearing it with one-colored joggers or pants so that the bold design of the hoodie can be exposed. Also, layering combination-the preferential example is under a bomber jacket or above a plain T-shirt, is a fabulous way of incorporating that Bape hoodie into the outfit. Accessories such as snapback hats, chains, and backpacks are sure part of this great image picture towards an overall well-designed street style.
Bape hoodies are luxuries in the world of streetwear-a good hoodie costs between $300 and $700, depending on its design and rarity. Limited special collaborations or vintage pieces can command much more price in resale markets. While it might sound expensive to some, streetwear lovers usually consider Bape hoodies as investments. Since they tend to be in high demand and low supply, well-maintained pieces often go up in value with time, thus proving very interesting for collectors. Bape hoodies really make sense for someone passionate about street fashion as the brand presence is strong enough and the innovation remains applicable.

Kim Kardashian breaks down in new Kanye West documentary trailer

NEW YORK — The trailer for Kanye West's new documentary, 'In Whose Name?,' gives fans raw insight into the rapper's turbulent life and his relationship with former wife, Kim Kardashian. The trailer, which premiered online Wednesday, features the SKIMS owner in several clips, including a moment where she's told her ex has been 'off [his] meds for five months now.' The video then reveals a rare glimpse of the rapper, legally known as Ye, having an emotional conversation with Kardashian where she's heard crying while telling him, 'Your personality was not like this a few years ago.' Another clip shows an intense exchange between the former couple, in which West tells his then-wife, 'Never tell me I'm gonna wake up one day and have nothing.' Kardashian responds saying, 'We can talk about that later, but…' West immediately fires back shouting, 'It ain't no 'but!'' The documentary, which was helmed by filmmaker Nicolas Ballesteros over a six-year period, also uncovers moments West experienced mental health issues throughout the years. 'In Whose Name?' sees the Grammy winning artist 'living with bipolar disorder, offering rare insight into the realities of mental illness and its impact on identity, perception and power,' according to its official synopsis. The doc is also described as doing 'more than document a cultural icon,' but rather exploring 'a profound journey of artistic and personal growth.' It's expected to peel back the curtain on Ye's 'collapsing marriage, vanishing sponsorships and growing public backlash' amid multiple controversies, including his many antisemitic rants. West married Kardashian in 2014 and the exes share four children: North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm. In February of 2021, Kardashian filed for divorce. 'I definitely protected him, and I still will in the eyes of my kids, for my kids,' Kardashian shared on an episode of the 'Angie Martinez IRL' podcast in 2022. 'In my home, my kids don't know anything that goes on [in] the outside world.' 'In Whose Name?' hits theaters Sept. 19.

The Michelin Guide Is Returning to Texas

The Michelin Guide is coming back to Texas. On October 28, it will announce its 2025 selections during a ceremony at the Wortham Center for the Performing Arts in Houston. The prestigious restaurant ratings will again cover five cities: Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, Fort Worth, and Houston. It's only the second year that Michelin has rated Texas restaurants, but last year's debut made a statement. Texas landed 15 one star restaurants, 44 Bib Gourmands (good food at a good price), 56 restaurants were recommended destinations, and two received Green Stars — recognition of a restaurant's sustainable practices. Unsurprisingly, barbecue got a heap of attention. Four Texas restaurants serving the cuisine received stars, the first time Michelin has awarded stars to barbecue in North or South America. Previous winners were Singapore's Australian-style barbecue restaurant Burnt Ends and Japanese wagyu barbecue restaurant Oretachi No Nikuya in Taiwan. The four Texas barbecue spots to join the ranks were Austin's Interstellar BBQ, La Barbecue, LeRoy and Lewis Barbecue, along with CorkScrew BBQ in Spring. This year's ceremony will be watched closely, not just to see which restaurants retain their stars or get awarded their firsts, but to see if a restaurant can get two or even three stars awarded. The Best Restaurant Restrooms for a Selfie Break in Atlanta

Lia Picard is a lifestyle journalist who has called Atlanta home for more than a decade. Since 2017, she's written about the intersection of food and culture as well as the restaurant industry and the fascinating people that comprise it. We go to restaurants for the food and ambiance, but these days, a well-designed bathroom may steal the show. In the Instagram era, bathrooms do more than serve as a pit stop; they're backdrops for selfie photoshoots. Designers across Atlanta are creating bathrooms decked out with murals, tiled mosaics, and dreamy lighting. Whether it's a neon sign or flying pigs, here are eight Atlanta restaurant bathrooms that make a mid-meal bathroom break part of the overall experience. You don't have to attend a swanky 12-course dinner at Kinship to use their restroom; just stop by for a breakfast sandwich or a coffee from Academy. Or maybe some bacon? The restroom's decor pays homage to the butcher shop setting with a pink LED sign that says 'ham' and a whimsical mural of flying pigs spanning the walls. Plenty of potted plants line the floor. The bathroom at Kinship Butcher & Sundry. Lia Picard While it's Jarrett Stieber's creativity and execution on the plate that garnered accolades from Michelin, the restaurant's bathrooms are uniquely designed, too. There are two to choose from: blue or pink. The pink restroom is awash in a pink glow from a neon sign in cheeky Little Bear fashion that simply reads 'neon sign,' while the blue bathroom sports an abstract hand-cut tile mosaic by artist Wihro Kim. It's an exciting time at Umi — the restaurant recently installed Kazuo Yoshida as chef and unveiled renovated restrooms. Umi's dining room pulses with upbeat music and sharply dressed diners (maybe even a celeb or two), while the restrooms serve as a quiet retreat from the hubbub. The single-stall bathrooms riff on minimalist Japanese design with Pietra d'Avola marble lining the walls, floors, and sink. It's a dark and moody sanctuary, but the real star of the loo is the seat-warming Toto toilet. Valor's Dunwoody location is sun-filled and high energy, with a quiet escape found in their two single-stall bathrooms. One is your standard restroom, while the other is decidedly a vibe with a glowing pink light. It's a little trippy, but with the help of botanical scented hand soaps by Everyone, it's also kind of zen. Writer Lia Picard at Tiny Lou's peach wallpaper-covered bathroom. Lia Picard Tiny Lou's restroom is wrapped in oversized peach wallpaper, a nod to its home state, we're sure. The bold orange and green palette has a way of making you feel like you're in an orchard and creates a dreamy landscape. Since you're already at Hotel Clermont, you may as well swing by the lobby bathroom, which is cool in a different way with two-way mirrors in the powder room. Check out the two-way mirrors at the lobby bathroom in Hotel Clermont. Asher Moss You must visit the bathroom at Ryokou in Adair Park. It's one of the most luxurious experiences in town: It's all black, with a heated toilet seat, a beautiful marble sink, and even matching black toilet paper. The room is candlelit, and black rolled hand towels complete the look. These details are a wonderful respite from the equally gorgeous dining room. Read our full scene report of the restaurant here. — Henna Bakshi, Eater regional and audience editor, Southeast. Located in Midtown, the Consulate is designed to the hilt throughout the dining room with decor that matches its global fare, and the bathrooms are just as design-forward. Choose your fighter: the 'gun room' or the 'green room.' The gun room pays homage to James Bond and features a literal wall of prop guns and movie memorabilia. The green room, on the other hand, soothes with a soft palette, floral artworks, and a vintage dressing room chair. There's a mid-century modern flair in both of them, adding to a sense of timelessness. Whether you visit the St. Regis in Buckhead for Michelin-starred Atlas or afternoon tea, you're likely dressed up for the occasion. Marble-tiled walls and floors, as well as a handsome chandelier and a recessed ceiling, reinforce the glam essence associated with the hotel. Floor-length mirrors make it easy to get a fit check (and maybe a quick pic) before heading out. Located in Decatur, the Reading Room creates a cozy setting with its boho-chic, plant-filled decor in its coffee shop. The bathrooms further reflect that design. One bathroom wraps the visitor in a lush tropical print on black wallpaper and a stunning brass sink, while the other sports a lighter, cheery floral and butterfly-printed wallpaper. Both pack an aesthetic punch, so you can't go wrong.
