Jensen eager to build on impressive start
Alexander Jensen says he is still adjusting to the intensity of Scottish football and has plenty of room for improvement despite an impressive start to his Aberdeen career. The Danish full-back, 23, has edged Scotland cap Nicky Devlin on to the bench and started the Dons' past six games after arriving from Swedish side IF Brommapojkarna on a four-year deal in January."I think everyone around the team has been making it very easy for me to settle here and have helped me a lot," said Jensen."It is very different to Swedish football, more intense and duels, I still have to get used to that. I think there are still a lot of things I can improve and the team can improve as well."Jensen has been key to the Dons' recent upturn in fortunes, with three successive wins in all competitions before Tuesday night's trip to face Celtic."First of all it was to play at Pittodrie which I enjoy so much, crazy fans and crazy atmosphere there, but of course it is a great game and a big game so I am looking forward to that as well," he added. "Every day I feel it is coming as a team and it is coming how we want to play. Everybody is on the same pattern so it is coming on and off the pitch."

Nils Koppen in shock Rangers departure just days after 49ers takeover
The Belgian's exit will be confirmed on Monday and comes just six months after he was promoted to Technical Director Nils Koppen is set to become the first high-profile departure from Ibrox as Andrew Cavenagh kicks off his Rangers overhaul. Record Sport understands the Light Blues' recruitment chief is stepping down from his role as Technical Director as Gers' new American regime begin work restructuring the club's backroom operation. The Belgian's exit will be confirmed on Monday - just hours after Kevin Thelwell officially takes up his new post as sporting director at Ibrox. Former PSV Eindhoven head scout Koppen joined Gers in January last year after being hired to lead the club's hunt for new signings. He was instrumental in the moves that brought in last summer's big arrivals Jefte, Hamza Igamane, Robin Propper, Nedim Bajrami and Vaclav Cerny. But those additions failed to change Rangers' on-field fortunes as they finished a huge 17 points behind Double-winning Celtic. His promotion to a wider role as Technical Director last November raised eyebrows amongst supporters given the struggles of the players he had helped recruit. Now just six months later he is heading for the Ibrox exit. Record Sport revealed last week that during his interview for the Gers manager's job, caretaker gaffer Barry Ferguson recommended to the board that Koppen be replaced. Now it will be left to former Everton director of football Thelwell to lead the reshaping of the Gers squad. He has already taken part in talks with some of the candidates hoping to replace Philippe Clement as the team's new permanent manager but will step up his involvement having official moved into his office. Cavenagh and his partners from the San Francisco 49ers completed their £75million Ibrox takeover on Friday and have pledged to make another £20million available to upgrade the squad. It remains to be seen who will be the manager entrusted to spend those huge sums. Davide Anecelotti remains the favourite to land the gig, with Russell Martin, Francesco Farioli and Brian Priske also in the running. Jamie Carragher drops Celtic Champions League claim that gets Thierry Henry saying 'don't make statements'
PSG started last night in unwelcome company but shattered through the barrier with a 5-0 win over Inter Jamie Carragher predicted there will never be another Champions League winner from smaller nations like Scotland – before Thierry Henry warned him not to make 'statements' that could come back to bite him. PSG annihilated Inter 5-0 to win the trophy last night and, incredibly, it was only the second time a team from France had won the Champions League or European Cup. Marseille's victory in 1993 had stood alone as the only French success in the competition leaving them trailing well behind the rest of the Big Five nations – with Spain, England, Italy and Germany boasting 55 between them. Prior to PSG's win they were in unwelcome company as one of four nations with only one to their name. Celtic, famously, are the only Scottish team to win the big one, the famous Lisbon Lions win in 1967 the proudest moment in their history and one that is unlikely to be repeated. Outside of that only Red Star Belgrade from the former Yugoslavia and Steaua Bucharest of Romania can boast bringing home their country's sole European Cup. The pre-match discussion centred around whether PSG would be able to break France out of that bracked, and Carragher, speaking on CBS Sports, said: 'The big thing when you look at that stats table, France are alongside Scotland, the former Yugoslavia, and Romania. Those three countries, I am quite confident, will never win a Champions League again.' That's when Arsenal legend Henry cut in: "Don't make statements!" But Carragher clarified: 'No, I just don't see that. France produces some of the best footballers in the world. Probably one of the most dominant nations in the world. It's unacceptable that they only have one Champions League winner.' PSG did in the end win a second Champions League for France, and in some style. Desire Doue was the star of the show with two goals and an assist as Inter struggled to even lay a glove on the dominant French champions, who will be hoping to rack up the European honours in the years ahead and fire France up the medal table. At Hibs it's not just the first team celebrating a successful season
It's not just the Hibs first team that enjoyed a successful season. Hibernian Women claimed their first SWPL title in 18-years despite being massive underdogs due to the disparity of budgets with their main rivals. The title went down to the wire with Grant Scott's side needing a point at Ibrox on the final day. But Hibs took all three thanks to a Linzi Taylor strike that secured not only the trophy but Champions league football under the Easter Road lights next season. Speaking after the final whistle SWPL manager of the year Scott said: 'It's incredible. I'm a bit speechless. It's taking a bit of time to land this one. 'I'm immensely proud to lead this group. We've been on the page all season. We've had our moments and we've questioned one another at times but the consistency has been phenomenal.' 'I'm just so proud of the group, so proud of the players and staff. We're threadbare at the minute, there's a few walking wounded in there. In this modern era of Scottish women's football – it's a massive achievement.' And if that wasn't enough the Under 18s won the league title with a game to spare after a tremendous season. Darren McGregor's side have been immense and after lifting the trophy following a victory over Kilmarnock, he praised the players and coaching staff. He said: In academies there's a big thing about development and not necessarily winning, but I think that the closer they get to the first team the biggest the onus is on results. 'One or two of them usually train with the first team every day which is great and the ultimate goal is to get a couple of them into the first team full-time now. They're a great group and they always want to improve. 'I've got a fantastic staff team, with Guillem Beulezin, Scott Ross and Matty Fenwick, amongst other, and work with a brilliant Academy Director in Gareth Evans. 'It's all relative and for the boys, winning this league is the biggest achievement in their career so it's something to be proud of and celebrate. 'Winning anything in football is difficult and when you get older you look back at these milestones and it is a great achievement for them.'
