Tom Holland breaks his silence on rumours that he is the next James Bond: 'It's the pinnacle of working in our industry'

Hollywood star Tom Holland has finally broken his silence on rumours that he is joining the James Bond franchise. Over the last few days, several reports have claimed that the Spider-Man star is in the running to be the next 007, and has been listed as a 'frontrunner' by many. Tom Holland has been rumoured to be tapped for the lead role in the upcoming James Bond film. During a conversation with celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay on his YouTube channel, Tom was asked about the Bond reports. 'Listen, there's speculation at the moment. We'll keep it to a minimum for now. We'll get there one day,' he said. The actor shared that he would love the opportunity to play James Bond someday. 'Every young British actor, it's the pinnacle of working in our industry. I already consider myself to be the luckiest kid alive; I could not have dreamed to have the career that I have,' said Tom. Several actors, including Holland, Jacob Elordi, and Harris Dickinson, have been rumoured to be frontrunners for the part. The James Bond franchise is being rebooted after the IP was taken over by Amazon MGM Studios earlier this year. Set to be directed by Denis Villeneuve and written by Steven Knight, the film is currently in development and is expected to bring aboard the next 007 after Daniel Craig stepped down from the role in 2021. Not much is known about the next James Bond film or its casting. With Villeneuve currently busy with Dune: Messiah, it is unlikely that the film will begin production soon. The film will be produced by Amy Pascal and David Heyman. But before that Tom will be seen in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, his fourth solo film as Marvel's web-slinging superhero. The first look of the Marvel and Sony co-production was unveiled on Saturday. Filming is currently underway in Glasgow. Spider-Man: Brand New Day will release on July 31, 2026. (With ANI inputs)

Taron Egerton willing to turn classic American musical 'into a film', says 'it would be amazing'

Washington DC [US], August 3 (ANI): Welsh actor Taron Egerton, who is known for starring in 'Testament of Youth', 'Rocketman', among others, opened up about his dream project. "There's a musical I love," said the actor, adding, "I daren't tell you what it is, because I don't want to jinx it," shared Egerton, reported People. 'She Rides Shotgun' star further shared, "There's a classic American musical that I love that I would love to turn into a film. It's never been turned into a film, and I think it would be amazing." Egerton wowed audiences in 2019 when he took on the formidable role of Elton John in musical biopic 'Rocketman', a high-energy performance that earned him a Golden Globe Award and a lasting bond with John himself, as per the outlet. "I'm really, really, really hoping that I can achieve that," Egerton said of his dream movie musical. "It's very, very hard and the estate is super protective about it and rightly so." He added, "If I manage it, you'll know about it and I think it would be incredible. But I will not jinx it by telling you what it is because I've been trying for some time," reported People. Unlike his star-making performance in 2014's action-comedy 'Kingsman: The Secret Service', Egerton's latest work has seen him exploring a range of characters "that are a little harder-edged, a little darker," he said. Egerton now stars opposite Ana Sophia Heger in the Nick Rowland-directed 'She Rides Shotgun', adapted from Jordan Harper's novel of the same name. It's one of several projects he's also worked on behind the camera as producer, including Black Bird, Tetris and Smoke, according to People. (ANI)

Hrithik Roshan says he and Kiara Advani struggled to match steps in War 2 song ‘Aavan Jaavan': ‘I had to move like her…'

Hrithik Roshan is currently gearing up for the release of War 2. At a recent event in Sri Lanka, the actor opened up about his career and his experience of working with Kiara Advani in War 2. He also spoke about regretting two iconic roles that ultimately went to Aamir Khan. He said, 'I said no to Dil Chahta Hai, and I said no to 3 Idiots. But I think Aamir [Khan] was the right choice for both those films. It had a destiny.' Hrithik also talked about his own shortcomings during the event and revealed how he never remembers dialogues or dance steps off-camera. He said, 'One is my dialogues. If I'm not in front of the camera in my real life, my dialogues I will never remember. And the second one is, unfortunately, my dance steps. I can never remember both once I step away from the cameras. It's unbelievable.' Speaking about dance steps, Hrithik Roshab recalled shooting the song 'Aavan Jaavan' from War 2 and how he and Kiara Advani struggled to match steps. 'It was a really easy step. But for some reason, when Kiara and I were rehearsing, we were struggling to match our hands and our legs. I had to move like her, she had to move like me. So even though it was simple, it became complicated in trying to match each other. There have been very difficult steps that I've done which were actually very easy.' He also recalled his iconic dance moves in the song 'Main Aisa Kyu Hoon' from his film Lakshya, and how he practiced for a month to perfect the choreography. He said, 'Like Main Aisa Kyu Hoon looked really difficult, but Mr. Prabhudheva made it so easy for me because he had somebody with me for a month, and I slowly moved into those steps every day, a little bit, a little bit, and then magic, that masterpiece, was born.' Hrithik also said he is 'scared' about his directorial debut with Krrish 4. 'I need all your love and blessings. I am very excited, but also very nervous. Encouragement will go a long way. I'm scared, but I'm also very, very excited about this new chapter in my life,' he said. War 2 is directed by Ayan Mukerji and also stars Jr NTR in negative role. It will release on August 14.
