How does The Fortune Hotel work and who's in the ITV gameshow cast?
With the hotly anticipated Celebrity Traitors just around the corner, the second season of The Fortune Hotel could well be the series to tick you over until then.
Presented by Stephen Mangan, the show, which sees ten pairs of contestants battle it out to win a whopping £250,000, will kick off tonight on ITV at 9pm.
Speaking to the Metro ahead of its launch, Mangan has already admitted that he can be 'as ruthless as everybody else', as the game requires contestants to lie, cheat and bluff to get their hands on the money.
Taking place in a gorgeous location that provides a stunning backdrop to the entertainment, the show has been described as 'extremely stressful' by those who have experienced it first hand.
To find out more about the upcoming series, Metro takes a deep dive into how the game exactly works and who will be featuring in this year's cast.
ITV's The Fortune Hotel features ten pairs of contestants who compete to find a briefcase containing £250,000 while avoiding one with an 'Early Checkout' card.
Daily challenges determine what order the players keep or swap their briefcase. Will you be watching The Fortune Hotel season two?
At the end of each day, pairs gather to decide whether to keep their current briefcase or swap it with another.
The ultimate aim is to correctly identify the money-filled briefcase and hold onto it until the end to win the £250,000 prize.
The new cast for the 2025 series has been revealed ahead of the first episode tonight.
Chelsey and Briony, Atholl and John, Nella and Tope, Allan and Jacob, Fred and Min, Gurks and Guv, James and Yasmine, Sue and Jeremy and Martina and Briony will all be checking into the luxurious resort for the second season.
Metro columnist Adam Miller was fortunate enough to actually play The Fortune Hotel, but according to him he 'didn't know life could be that stressful'.
Adam said how 'even without a life-changing amount of money at stake, stress levels were high'.
'We were put into pairs, and one by one we picked our case, opening it in front of the rival teams and hoping not to give any signals that might reveal the contents inside' he explained.
'Ours had nothing – it was a case full of blank paper. Regardless, I was shaking like I'd just opened a chest of gold – or the card that would see me banished. Suspicions were on us'.
To find out more about how he got on, you can read his full experience here.
The occupation of the contestants ranges from retired police officers to construction workers and cleaning business owners.
There is also a tech broker and property manager mother and son duo as well as life partners and retirees Fred and Min.
The first season of The Fortune Hotel provided some high quality drama last year.
The winners of the gameshow were Jo-Anne and Will, a mother and son duo.
They took home a cool £210,000 after successfully navigating the game and outwitting the other contestants.
The duo did, however, give some of their prize money away to Aysha and Sam after many viewers felt they became villains of the show after playing dirty.
The Fortune Hotel 2025 will be filmed at the stunning Silversands Grenada resort in the Caribbean. More Trending
The resort is located on Grand Anse Beach and features private villas, a spa and multiple dining options.
It is known for its 100-meter-long infinity pool and luxurious atmosphere.
It is also the same resort which was used in the first series of the show.

MasterChef's John Torode's 'one chance' to win back fans as TV future 'hangs in balance'
MasterChef's John Torode's 'one chance' to win back fans as TV future 'hangs in balance' EXCLUSIVE: John Torode and Gregg Wallace will not be recording anymore episodes of BBC show MasterChef after the current series concludes, following the result of an inquiry John Torode said he has 'no recollection' of using the alleged racist term John Torode's next move "could very well make or break his TV career", following his sacking from MasterChef, according to a PR specialist. Last month, it was announced that the chef will not have his contract renewed with the BBC show, due to an upheld racism allegation. In a statement, John, 60, said he has "no recollection" of the alleged racist term he is accused of using, and said he only found out he'd been pulled from the show through media reports. John's co-star Gregg Wallace will also not be returning to the show after several misconduct claims were upheld in the same investigation, commissioned by MasterChef's producer Banijay UK, and conducted by law firm Lewis Silkin. While John may not be back for another series of MasterChef, he is still thought to be employed by ITV. For now, he will continue to front John and Lisa's Weekend Kitchen, alongside his wife Lisa Faulkner. The broadcaster also reportedly plans to welcome back the duo in December 2025 for Christmas specials of the show. Gregg Wallace and John Torode are back for a new series of MasterChef (Image: BBC) Despite this, Kayley Cornelius says John's career on screen is looking "temperamental". Should no more allegations about him surface, the PR expert believes he could perhaps "win back public support" and continue his on-screen career, with ITV's backing. "Although ITV appear to be offering him a lifeline for now by continuing their support, I suspect that could change at the drop of a hat if it turns out this wasn't an isolated incident and more reports of similar language come to light," she added, speaking on behalf of Betfred. "It goes without saying that John's next steps will be crucial and could very well make or break his TV career." She continued: "Should he take accountability for his actions, apologise to those he's upset or disappointed, and demonstrate clear growth since the time of the incident, I do believe, based on current online sentiment, that he has a chance to win back some public support. However, he will need to accept that for some, there may be no regaining their trust at all." John and Lisa's Weekend Kitchen will continue to air on ITV (Image: ITV) Kayleigh continued: "While he may have short-term security thanks to ITV, in the long term, his success and TV career will hinge on public support. "Audience numbers are crucial to the future of any television programme and the funding it receives, so if he fails to win back viewers, the show could face cancellation further down the line." The PR specialist added that if ITV were to distance themselves from John, this could result in him being "pushed out of the industry altogether". Article continues below She also notes that with broadcasting becoming increasingly competitive and presenting talent continuing to grow, producers are likely not to hesitate with replacing him. The new series of MasterChef returned to the BBC on Wednesday, with both Gregg and John at the helm. The episodes were filmed before the hosts were sacked, but according to The Independent, Gregg will be replaced by Irish chef Anna Haugh in the final episodes. MasterChef returns to BBC Two tonight at 8pm.
