Danish train crash kills one as high-speed collision hits farm truck
COPENHAGEN: Danish police confirmed an express train was moving at a relatively high speed when it collided with a farm truck, resulting in one fatality and 27 injuries. The accident occurred on Friday at a railway crossing in Bjerndrup, southwest Denmark, where both the train and truck drivers were critically injured. A 60-year-old woman lost her life, while five of the injured remain in critical condition, according to police reports. The train, en route from Copenhagen to Sonderborg, struck the truck carrying agricultural waste at an unbarricaded crossing. Authorities stated the train's speed was a key factor in the crash, though an investigation will determine if warning signals functioned properly. TV2 reported a similar fatal accident in July just three kilometres away, where a 24-year-old driver died after a train hit his car. - AFP

File photo for illustration purposes. Photo credit: AFP KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 16): Police are investigating a TikTok account suspected of posting inaccurate and unverified content about the death of Form One student Zara Qairina Mahathir, which has caused concern in the community. Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk M. Kumar said the investigation is being conducted under Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act 1948, Section 505(b) of the Penal Code, and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998. 'It involves the offence of improper use of network facilities and services, as well as content that has the potential to incite hatred against any party and cause public anxiety or fear,' he said. 3rd LD Writethru: Man killed, another injured in shooting in Orebro, Sweden
HELSINKI, Aug. 15 (Xinhua) -- One person was killed and another injured in a shooting in the Swedish city of Orebro on Friday, police confirmed. The deceased was identified as a 25-year-old man, police said at a press conference on Friday evening. The injured victim, also in his twenties, remains hospitalized, with the severity of his condition undisclosed. Both victims were previously known to law enforcement, police said. A preliminary investigation into murder, attempted murder and aggravated weapons offenses has been opened. No arrests have been made. "We are fully hunting the perpetrator right now. We are, of course, doing this by gathering information through witness interviews and conducting extensive investigative work with internal intelligence," a police spokesman said. Police said earlier that the shooting, which occurred near a mosque in the Vivalla area of Orebro, some 200 km west of Stockholm, was likely linked to a criminal gang scene. In such cases, it is common for several people to be involved beyond a single suspect, police told local newspaper Dagens Nyheter earlier. Officers received an alert at 13:45 local time about a suspected serious violent crime at the site. Large areas around the site remain cordoned off as the manhunt continues.
