Champion Boston Celtics point guard alum Rajon Rondo was no small part of the engine that powered the 2007-08 Celtics squad to their first NBA title since Larry Bird, Kevin McHale, and Robert Parish were on the storied ball club's roster.
And Rondo recently stopped by an episode of the Players Tribune "Knuckleheads" podcast to talk about the Ubuntu Celtics title squad and what it took to hang that banner, as well as what it was like to be drafted No. 21 overall in 2006 by the Phoenix Suns, only to be dealt to Boston and his future fate instead.
Take a look at the clip embedded below to hear what they had to say about Rondo's storied career, eventual title with Celtics archrivals Los Angeles Lakers, and more.

Kings Reportedly Interested in Trading for Cavaliers Star

Kings Reportedly Interested in Trading for Cavaliers Star originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Cleveland Cavaliers and Sacramento Kings had drastically different 2024-25 seasons. The Cavaliers won 64 games and were the No. 1 seed in the East, while the Kings won only 40 games and were the 10th seed in the West. Advertisement Sacramento lost the 9-10 play-in game to the Dallas Mavericks and missed the playoffs this year for the second straight season. Meanwhile, Cleveland swept the Miami Heat in the first round of the 2025 NBA playoffs but lost to the Indiana Pacers in the conference semifinals in five games. The Cavaliers haven't advanced past the second round of the postseason since acquiring Donovan Mitchell from the Utah Jazz in 2022. Many believe Cleveland's front office needs to make changes to the roster this offseason. It's possible, as according to Grant Afseth of RotoGrinders, Sacramento is interested in trading for Cleveland starting point guard Darius Garland. Advertisement 'The Sacramento Kings have identified Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Darius Garland as a trade target as they seek to address the team's vacancy at lead guard this offseason, multiple league sources told RG,' Afseth wrote. 'Sacramento is motivated to find a long-term solution at point guard after trading De'Aaron Fox in February.' Garland had surgery Monday to repair the left big toe injury that troubled him during the 2025 postseason. The two-time All-Star is expected to miss four to five months. According to Joe Vardon of The Athletic, Garland could miss the first 10 games of next season. The Vanderbilt product averaged 20.6 points, 2.9 rebounds and 6.7 assists for the Cavaliers this season. Garland will make $39.4 million next season. The guard, who has spent his entire career in Cleveland, has career averages of 18.9 points, 2.7 rebounds and 6.7 assists. Tyrese Haliburton, Jarace Walker injury updates: Will they play for Pacers vs. Thunder in Game 3?

INDIANAPOLIS — Pacers forward Jarace Walker has been ruled out of Game 3 of the NBA Finals at Gainbridge Fieldhouse against the Thunder on Wednesday with a right ankle sprain, according to the NBA's official injury report. All-Star point guard Tyrese Haliburton is not on the injury report, though he walked with a bit of a limp after Game 2 and acknowledged he was working through a lower right leg issue. He said Tuesday in a news conference that he will be ready to play. Walker sprained the ankle in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals and spent several days on crutches. Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said days later that Walker would at least miss the first two games of the NBA Finals but would continue to undergo treatment to see if he could be available later in the series. It appears unlikely that he would be available in Game 4 on Friday, either. 'Easier said than done': Pacers looking for more paint points against NBA's toughest defense
