UAE's Housing Program Supports Over 1,300 Citizens in January with AED 1 Billion in Approvals
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, affirmed the UAE's ongoing commitment to improving its housing system, ensuring citizens' needs are met swiftly and effectively.
In January, the Sheikh Zayed Housing Program issued approvals benefiting over 1,300 citizens, totaling over AED 1 billion in value. Sheikh Mohammed expressed that efforts are underway to increase the number of beneficiaries throughout the year, with a focus on addressing all pending applications.
Reflecting on the progress made in the housing sector, Sheikh Mohammed highlighted that 13,000 applications have been processed and approved in the past two years. This achievement has significantly reduced the waiting period for housing applications, which now stands at just two months, ranking among the shortest globally.
The UAE continues to prioritize family stability by enhancing housing services and integrating various housing and funding entities. Sheikh Mohammed emphasized that the long-term goal is to streamline the approval process to the point where approvals can be completed within a single day.

This day marks not only your independence, but your enduring spirit of resilience, community, and optimism. It is a day of pride, and one you have every reason to celebrate, said His Excellency."He added that the UAE is pleased to call the Philippines a close friend and valued partner. "Across this nation, and across the decades, hundreds of thousands of Filipino people have made their mark. Your knowledge, skills, creativity, and compassion have enriched many sectors of our society – from healthcare and education to hospitality, finance, entrepreneurship, and the arts."His Excellency emphasised that "although our two countries may be separated by geography, we are united by shared values: openness, optimism, mutual respect, and a belief in the dignity of every individual."He noted that the UAE's success story is a shared story. Ajman Port set for expansion under new agreement worth AED 1 billion
Ajman Port will undergo an expansion under an AED 1 billion investment agreement between Department of Port & Customs Ajman (DPC) and Hutchison Ports. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will draw out a development plan for the port that will enhance handling efficiency, attract new shipping lines, align with digital transformation plans and solidify its position as a vital logistics hub in the region. It will also launch AI-powered programmess for port operations through an integrated 15-year plan aimed at managing, operating and developing the port. After witnessing the signing of the MoU, His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, said the move will play a key role in stimulating the local economy by supporting supply operations and facilitating export and import activities through the provision of sustainable, eco-friendly infrastructure, while focusing on developing national talents and equipping them with modern port management skills. "We believe that port development is an investment in the future of trade, food security, and economic growth," he added.
