Bachmann, who played for Chelsea from 2017 to 2020, sustained the injury during a training session on June 11.
The former WSL ace had no physical contact with any other player in the moment during which her knee was damaged.
According to the Swiss football federation tests carried out earlier today revealed Bachmann had suffered an ACL injury.
The forward, who has 153 senior international caps, is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines
Bachmann, who has scored 60 goals for Switzerland, said: I am deeply saddened that I will miss the Euro, especially here in Switzerland.
'This tournament was a big goal for me, and I have given everything over the past few months to be ready for it".
Switzerland will face Norway in their Euros opener in Basel on July 2 before clashes with their other Group A rivals Finland and Iceland.
Head coach Pia Sundhage is yet to name her squad for the contest with Arsenal midfielder Lia Walti and Aston Villa's Noelle Maritz likely to make the cut.
In 2023 Bachmann was part of the Switzerland side that reached the World Cup's last 16 two years ago before being knocked out by eventual contest winners Spain.

The forward, who began her club career 19 years ago with Swiss side SC Luwin, played her first senior Switzerland game at 16 when the team faced Sweden.
During a club career that has included stints with Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Wolfsburg, the forward has won 19 major trophies.
This includes two WSL titles and an FA Cup and a League Cup with the Blues under their former boss Emma Hayes.

Florian Wirtz's medical delay explained as Liverpool finally agree record deal

Liverpool's rivals for Florian Wirtz have all fallen by the wayside but the Premier League champions have yet to announce the signing of the Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz will join Liverpool this summer - but fans are still being made to wait for an official announcement. Wirtz's former Bayer Leverkusen colleague Jeremie Frimpong has completed his move to Anfield, but the German international remains in his home country for the time being. The Reds are ready to break the bank for the Germany international, who starred in Leverkusen's unbeaten Bundesliga season in 2023-24. The eventual fee, including add-ons, will be a new Premier League record of £116million. ‌ Leverkusen had attempted to play hardball on the fee, but Wirtz is set to begin the 2025-26 season as a Liverpool player - and for less than the £125m initially demanded by the selling club. However, it is understood that the delay is down to the playmaker currently being on holiday. ‌ The next formal steps are expected to take place upon Wirtz's return, after which we could see things speed up. The Reds have not been in as much of a rush as some of their Premier League rivals to get a deal over the line, as they are not involved in the Club World Cup. Wirtz is poised to become Arne Slot's third new addition this summer. Frimpong and Giorgi Mamardashvili have already completed moves, while Liverpool have helped fund some of their summer spending by selling Caoimhin Kelleher to Brentford. Liverpool's situation differs to that of Club World Cup competitors Chelsea and Manchester City. Both of those clubs made full use of the extra transfer window at the start of June, which was introduced to help teams bolster their squad for the tournament in the United States. Chelsea have added to their ranks for the Club World Cup, with Liam Delap, Dario Essugo and Mamadou Sarr all part of their squad, though Estevao Willian won't join until after the tournament. Manchester City have also significantly strengthened, Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Cherki and Rayan Ait-Nouri have all arrived, while keeper Marcus Bettinelli has joined from Chelsea to replace the outgoing Scott Carson. Wirtz isn't the only Bundesliga star on Liverpool's radar this summer. A deal for Hugo Ekitike is far less of a certainty, though, with Eintracht Frankfurt chief Markus Krosche standing firm on the £85m-rated striker. ‌ 'If the price isn't right, then he'll just stay with us. We don't have to sell Hugo,' Krosche told German media on the subject of the former Paris Saint-Germain striker, who is also of interest to Chelsea. Chelsea were unable to land the Frenchman in time for their Club World Cup campaign, with the mini transfer window for the tournament shutting on June 10. The summer window will open in earnest on Monday, giving Premier League clubs two months to bolster their squads ahead of the first round of fixtures. Chelsea receive Joao Felix transfer message from Benfica

Benfica president Rui Costa says he would be keen to sign Joao Felix from Chelsea but admits the Portuguese club are unable to finance a move. Felix returned to Chelsea in a £46.3 million deal from Atletico Madrid last August but the 25-year-old struggled secure a regular role under Enzo Maresca and ended up joining AC Milan on loan in the January transfer window. The Portugal international failed to recapture his form in Italy and AC Milan ended up deciding that they would not sign him on a permanent deal this summer. Felix's career at Chelsea now appears to be over after he was left out of their Club World Cup squad, while he has also been stripped of his No.14 shirt, which has been given to new £18m signing Geovany Quenda. Felix made his professional debut for Benfica's reserve side in 2016 and played just one full season in the first team before his £113m move to Atletico Madrid three years later. Benfica continue to be linked with re-signing Felix but Rui Costa says the Portuguese club are a 'long way' from that deal due to the forward's transfer fee and salary with Chelsea. 'Every year I get asked this question. If we could bring back players from our academy, who have the quality and prominence that a player like Joao has, we would all like that, all Benfica fans would like that,' Rui Costa said on Friday after Benfica arrived in the United States ahead of their Club World Cup campaign. 'We have to understand two things. The players are not free, they have very high contracts with the clubs and very high transfer fees. More Trending 'The amounts involved, both in transfers and salaries, are very high and we have to respect that part. 'Benfica wants all the great players. Joao is an excellent player. It is a long way from there until we bring Joao back, I can't say much more than that. 'There is no way I can come close to thinking that it is possible. 'For signings, we will have our targets referenced. We want to build a Benfica -style team, but the focus is the Club World Cup, which has to be a great source of pride.' Fran Kirby: ‘I've been through far worse than missing the Euros'

Footballer Fran Kirby, 31, grew up in Reading. She has represented England at four major tournaments and was part of the Lionesses team that won the Euros in 2022, but announced her retirement from international football on June 3. When she left Chelsea last year, she was the club's all-time top scorer. She now plays for Brighton & Hove Albion. People online have said, 'She looks pretty big in that kit, doesn't she?' I score a hat-trick, but they still comment on my weight. At the top level, a lot of people worry they will get abused if they gain weight. I'm not willing to sacrifice my energy levels to look a certain way. When I woke up the day after retiring, I didn't regret it. So it was clear to me I'd made the right choice. I had spoken to [England manager] Sarina Wiegman about where I stood with the Euros: I was probably not going or would be on standby. I said to her, 'I've been in this team a long time. I've had my health problems, my injury problems, and I've made a decision.' She was amazing the way she took it. But I still want to play in the WSL [Women's Super League] and give it my all. Losing a parent at any age is tough. I was 14 [when her mother died]. I didn't know how to handle my emotions or how to grieve. Whenever I feel sad, I always think, this is nowhere near how you felt then. I've been through a lot worse in my life than not going to a Euros. I was so ill with my heart condition, pericarditis. I knew I wasn't feeling right. I was tired and agitated, probably not a good person to be around. But as an athlete you think, I'm just tired from training. You don't think it's something sinister. So I ignored it. For a while, walking up and down the stairs counted as overdoing it. It was really tough. I wanted to tell the England girls I was retiring to their faces, because they have been a massive part of my life. I didn't want them to find out through social media. Lucy [Bronze] said some really nice things that made me cry. My dad was both Dad and Mum. For me to have him there at the Euros meant it was like she was there. I got emotional. I was in pain every time I walked. So I had surgery for my knee problem. That was a relief, because even though I was missing the 2023 World Cup, I was fixing the issue. Mary Earps's England career hasn't been plain sailing. I don't know the ins and outs of Mary's retirement, but it takes bravery to make that decision. She's an amazing advocate for the women's game, both on and off the pitch. I hope Millie Bright takes the time she needs and doesn't feel pressure to come back. [ Bright withdrew from selection for the Euros.] It's not easy to have a conversation with a manager and say, 'I'm going through something at the moment.' She's doing it because she knows she might not be the team-mate everyone needs, which would then have an even bigger impact on your mental health. I would have wanted my mum to have been at Wembley when it was my last game for England. Or my last game for Chelsea. I always want my mum to be there. With my extreme fatigue, just because there's no diagnosis, it doesn't mean it's all in your head. I knew how exhausted I was, even though there was no science to back it up. It was really frustrating. England are definitely one of the strongest teams going into the Euros. They have the squad capable of doing it. And the group is really tough. But we never had conversations like, 'We won the last one. We have to win the next one.' A mural in her honour on the Kirby Estate in Bermondsey, London PA GETTY IMAGES People will have something negative to say about you, no matter what you do. When I first got selected for England, I scored a goal in the World Cup, but the next game I didn't score. Bang, I was getting abuse: 'She doesn't even look like a footballer.' I could enjoy the last three days of being an international footballer without any noise. I stayed in camp until the Tuesday, because I just wanted to be around the girls for the last few days. I didn't tell anyone what was going on. I didn't want anyone to treat me any differently. I didn't want people to look at me and be sad.
