
Paul Gascoigne 'rushed to intensive care unit' as Rangers hero collapses at home
Friends and family are rallying around stricken Rangers hero Paul Gascoigne after he was rushed to hospital and placed in an intensive care unit.
The Ibrox and England legend was reportedly found in a semi conscious state by a pal on Friday night at his house in Poole, Dorset before being rushed to an intensive care unit.
Gascoigne has now been placed in an acute medical unit and his close friend Steve Foster has shared a message from those who have rallied around him. He said: "[Gazza would] like to thank everyone for the support he's received so far from so many old friends who wish him well and want to see him back to his best'.
And he added: "Paul is in hospital, which is the best possible place for him to be right now.'
The 58-year-old has battled a series of health and personal issues in recent years and returned to don Light Blue during a charity match as Rangers supporters awarded him a mammoth reception after he scored in the match.
Now the football hero faces a fresh battle off the pitch.
