UMNO To Consider Motion To Revoke Hishammuddin's Suspension
UMNO vice-president Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said it was the party leadership's tradition and practice to examine any motion submitted by UMNO divisions during their respective delegates' meetings.
'This is a motion brought by one of the 191 UMNO divisions nationwide.

'Like other divisions, the motion will be submitted to the UMNO headquarters to be studied and considered before any decision is made,' he told reporters after officiating the Batu Pahat UMNO Division Delegates' Meeting at Dewan Jubli Intan Sultan Ibrahim here today.
Khaled, who is also Defence Minister, said UMNO had yet to receive an appeal from the former senior national leader, but stressed that the motion would still be reviewed and considered.
'For now, there is only a motion, and we will consider it. Whether the individual concerned (Hishammuddin) has submitted an appeal or not, I don't wish to comment further,' he said.

Yesterday, the Sembrong UMNO Division passed a motion for the immediate and unconditional revocation of Hishammuddin's suspension.
Sembrong UMNO Division chief Datuk Abdul Ghani Abdul Rashid said this was the second year in a row the motion had been proposed by the division, reflecting the majority of delegates' wishes to see Hishammuddin return to active party involvement.
For the record, Hishammuddin was suspended from UMNO membership for six years, effective January 27, 2023.

Under Phase 1, ICA will build an extension of WCP at the Old Woodlands Town Centre, with construction work for this phase scheduled for the third quarter of 2025. This extension, among others, will include new automated clearance facilities for cargo vehicles, arriving cars, and arriving motorcycles. Wong also informed that the Johor Bahru–Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link, which will connect directly to Woodlands North MRT Station in Singapore, is set to ease cross-border travel.

863 Youth Participated In Kembara JOM 2.0 In Kota Marudu, Sabah
KOTA KINABALU, Aug 17 (Bernama) -- A total of 863 youth from Kota Kinabalu and Labuan participated in the Borneo Zone 1 Kembara Jumpa Orang Muda (Kembara JOM) 2.0 programme at Kampung Tagaroh, Kota Marudu, Sabah from Aug 15 to 17. Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Adam Adli, who was also at the programme, said that Kembara JOM helped strengthen the rural youth empowerment agenda and findings from the programme would help national youth development. MOSCOW (Bernama-RIA Novosti): The outcome of the Russian-US talks in Alaska could influence not only the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis but also conflict dynamics in other regions, including the Middle East, Lebanese expert on Russian affairs Ahmed Al-Haj Ali told RIA Novosti. "The agreements reached may eventually be reflected in other crisis areas in the future, though not immediately, but gradually - including in the Middle East," Al-Haj Ali said. Closer alignment between Moscow and Washington could have a positive effect on the resumption of Iranian-US negotiations, he added.
