Travis Kelce Says His Relationship With Taylor Swift ‘Just Took the F*ck Off'
Travis Kelce is opening up about his relationship with Taylor Swift.
In his September GQ cover story, which dropped today, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end spoke candidly about how they keep their romance grounded despite being in the spotlight.
'Whenever I'm with her, it feels like we're just regular people,' he said. 'When there is not a camera on us, we're just two people that are in love. It can be perceived as something else because of how much it is talked about and how much we are tracked whenever we do go out, but I would say that... it happened very organically, even though from a media standpoint it was being tracked. It still happened very organically.'
He continued, 'Nothing I've ever done has been a controlled, organized process. When I say it was so organic, we fell in love just based off the people we were sitting in a room together with. We are two fun-loving people who have the morals to appreciate everyone for who they are. We share all those values. It kind of just took the fuck off.'
Kelce also reflected on some of their public appearances, like the time they attended the US Open last September to watch the Men's Singles Final match between Taylor Fritz and Jannik Sinner.
'When you see me hanging out at the US Open with Taylor, it may look like the two of us are partying,' he said. 'But I'm just enjoying the fun of being at this really cool event that I always wanted to go to with the person that I love.'
Speaking of sports, he also takes some credit for making her a football fanatic. 'I sort of made her a football fan,' he said. 'She is the most engulfed fan now. She knows what the injury reports look like. She understands what special situations are, third and short—all these things because she just naturally loves to hear about my job.'
He even mentioned that Swift adopted one of his signature football moves: his first down gesture. When asked where the move originated, he couldn't recall exactly, but said, 'I know Tay picked it up, and she did it in New Orleans,' he said.
And as for watching her perform, Kelce is more than happy to play the fan when she's onstage. 'I get to be the plus-one,' he said. 'I get to go and be that fan. Because I am a fan. I'm a fan of music. I'm a fan of art. And it's so cool that I get to experience her being that plus-one for me on the football field…. I feel that same enjoyment every time she comes to my shows.'
The couple also bond over the shared experience of performing in packed stadiums. 'I hadn't experienced somebody in the same shoes as me—having a partner who understands the scrutiny, understands the ups and downs of being in front of millions,' he said. 'That was very relatable, seeing how exhausted she would get after shows she would get after shows. She may not think of herself as an athlete. She will never tell anyone that she is an athlete. But I've seen what she goes through. I've seen the amount of work that she puts on her body, and it's mind-blowing.'
Her tour prep only added to his admiration. 'To go out on a stage, on a computer, essentially, for three hours. The [Eras Tour] floor is literally—I've seen underneath that thing. It is a football-field-sized computer. You take that into Singapore, where it is scorching hot, and all of a sudden you're feeling the fumes from the computer and the sun, and you're doing a show for three hours with a lot of energy, bringing it every single song.'
'That is arguably more exhausting than how much I put in on a Sunday,' he continued. 'And she's doing it three, four, five days in a row.'
Kelce couldn't help but continue to gush about her stage presence. 'People gravitate towards how she performs and how she makes it feel like the entire stadium is in this little room with her,' he said. 'She is so good at mesmerizing everybody and making everybody feel like it's an intimate situation. I think that alone—there is so much calm and coolness. She's beautiful. She's up there making everyone feel at ease.'
Swift even inspired a shift in his own on-field energy. 'Whenever I get in front of a crowd, I feel like I've got to be like, Woooo! Like, excited, bringing the energy,' he said. 'Then I saw that coolness and that calmness and that relatability that she is so good at presenting. I really grabbed that. Like, Man, I can use that side of entertainment as well. It's not just always being the guy that brings the energy and creates these exciting moments.'
Kelce also drew parallels between Swift and his mom, Donna Kelce. When asked about similarities between the two, he replied: 'Their kindness, their genuineness, their ability to say hello to everyone in the room. Their ability to show love and support no matter what. And on top of that, their work ethic. I saw my mother reach goals that she had set for herself, go from being a teller to working all the way up in the KeyBank building.'
'I've seen Taylor do the exact same thing,' he added. 'Setting goals for herself and exceeding the expectations and really captivating the world in that regard.'

Allen threw for 3,731 yards and 28 touchdowns and 531 yards on the ground with 12 touchdowns to boot. Allen exorcised one demon last season with his MVP win, but has yet to get past his ultimate hurdle, the Kansas City Chiefs, in the playoffs. He once again fell short to Mahomes in the AFC Championship game, and until Allen clears that hurdle, he may find himself behind Mahomes in quarterback rankings despite award wins. Allen and the Bills are embarking on their final ride at Highmark Stadium before relocating to their new home, which is expected to be ready for the start of next season. The Bills are hoping to give their fans one more hurrah in the old stadium before entering a new era of football in Buffalo. With lofty expectations again this season, Allen opens the year as the co-favorite with Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens for the MVP award. Allen narrowly beat Jackson for the award last season, and the pair are expected to engage in another tantalizing race. More NFL: Dolphins Edge Rusher Uses Instagram To Calm Injury Panic

Chiefs Get Major Update on Rashee Rice's Looming Suspension
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. The Kansas City Chiefs were without star wide receiver Rashee Rice for most of last season, and while that may have ultimately hindered their push to become the first team in NFL history to three-peat as Super Bowl champions, it also could prove helpful heading into 2025. The 25-year-old Rice played the first four games of last season before missing the rest of the year after tearing the LCL in his right knee on an accidental hit from quarterback Patrick Mahomes in Week 4 against the Los Angeles Chargers. The SMU alum has been rehabbing ever since, and he appears on track to be ready for the regular-season opener against those same Chargers on Sept. 5 at Arrowhead Stadium. And while it's unlikely Rice will miss 13 games again this season (barring any crazy injury setback or a new injury), he will at least miss a decent chunk of the season when he's eventually suspended by the NFL. More NFL: Rashee Rice In Danger of Being Replaced as Patrick Mahomes' No. 1 WR According to ESPN's Adam Schefter though, Rice should be available for the Chiefs' first four games of the year against the Chargers, the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles (Sept. 14), New York Giants (Sept. 21), and Baltimore Ravens (Sept. 28), with his suspension coming in the middle of the season and allowing him to return in time for the playoffs. Rashee Rice #4 of the Kansas City Chiefs high fives fans prior to an NFL football game against the Detroit Lions at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium on September 7, 2023 in Kansas City, Missouri."ESPN sources: Chiefs WR Rashee Rice is expected to have his disciplinary hearing with the NFL on Tuesday, Sept 30 in New York," Schefter reported. "This means that Rice now is likely to be able to play the first four weeks of this season before any potential discipline is imposed for his role in a multi-car crash in Dallas during the 2024 offseason." Rice's looming suspension, which CBS Sports NFL insider Jonathan Jones expects be around six games — the baseline number for violations to the NFL's personal conduct policy — coupled with his injury recovery has forced the Chiefs to be prepared just in case another curve ball is thrown their way. More NFL: Taylor Swift Reveals Hilarious Xavier Worthy Draft Story on Travis Kelce's Podcast Head coach Andy Reid recently told reporters that Rice is still getting his normal starter's workload but he's also making sure some of Kansas City's younger pass-catchers like Jason Brownlee, Mac Dalena, Tyquan Thornton, and rookie Jalen Royals are getting the necessary reps to help fill a Rice-sized void if needed. "We're going to progress as normal with [Rice], he'll take all the reps that he'd normally take," Reid said, via KMBC 9. "We always rotate that position, so depending on what happens here in the future, whoever needs to play will be able to step in and know what they're doing and be in good shape to do it. But we're just going to progress as normal." More NFL: Browns Reporter Sends Message to Shedeur Sanders After Viral Confrontation

When the 14-time Grammy winner, 35, made her long-awaited appearance on Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce's New Heights podcast, the YouTube livestream blacked out towards the end of the two-hour plus episode. The episode suddenly stopped and went black nearly an hour and 45 minutes after it premiered at 7 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Aug. 13. Specifically, the livestream — which attracted over a million viewers who watched in real time — cut out around 8:45 p.m. ET. At 8:48 p.m. ET, the New Heights X account — which had been live tweeting throughout the episode — explained what happened. "We hit a glitch but will be back shortly!!!" the podcast account shared on the social media platform. The account added, "Shoutout all the 92%ers and swifties for actually helping us break the internet." Approximately four hours later, New Heights shared an update on X at 12:37 a.m. ET. "WE ARE BACK!!!!" the podcast's official X account wrote. "Use this link to pick up right where we left off," the page added, dropping the corresponding URL to direct viewers to the video. Quote tweeting the post, New Heights thanked YouTube for getting the podcast episode back up and running after the blackout. "Shoutout to the amazing team at @YouTube for helping get this fixed!!!" the podcast account wrote on X. Viewers poked fun at the New Heights X account's choice of words, noting that the fix — which took approximately four hours from the time the episode cut out to the time the new podcast link was shared — wasn't as quick as they made it out to be. "'Shortly'," wrote one X user. To which the New Heights X account replied, "😅 😅 😅 (But for real sorry about that we worked as fast as we could!)." Earlier in the night, WNBA star Caitlin Clark — a self-professed "Swiftie" and longtime Kansas City Chiefs fan — predicted a glitch of sorts would occur. "Are we sure YouTube isn't going to crash tonight?" joked the Indiana Fever guard on X at 2:22 p.m. ET. After the screen blacked out, Clark quote tweeted herself on the social media platform, writing, "Swifties so powerful we broke the Internet." During her appearance on New Heights, Swift covered a variety of wide-ranging topics: she emotionally opened up about regaining the rights to her music, gave a rare glimpse inside her romance with Travis, 35, and shed light on her forthcoming alum, The Life of a Showgirl (due Oct. 3). The singer-songwriter's debut on New Heights didn't just break the internet, but it also set a new viewership record for the popular podcast hosted by the NFL brothers.
