Yahoo05-05-2025

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson is bringing the flavor — and the savings — back to fans this May.
The actor and entrepreneur, 53, has officially launched the 2025 edition of Guac on the Rock, his annual celebration tied to his small-batch tequila brand, Teremana. This year, the initiative is bigger than ever.
Starting May 1 and running through May 31, Teremana will give fans $10 back when they order any appetizer along with a Teremana cocktail at participating bars and restaurants. While previous years focused solely on guacamole orders, 2025's campaign opens up to all delivery apps, making it easier than ever for fans to share a drink, grab a bite and toast to Cinco de Mayo without stressing their wallets.

To also celebrate The Rock and Teremana's first partnership with DoorDash, from May 1 through May 12, fans in select states who purchase a 750 ml bottle (or larger) of Teremana from a DoorDash retailer will receive a $10 gift card to use on guacamole or any appetizer ordered through the app. Participating states include California, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Indiana, New York, Ohio, Oregon, and Washington, D.C.
'Five years of Guac on the Rock calls for something special,' Johnson shared in a statement. 'I am incredibly grateful that we can play a small part in helping people celebrate at their local bars and restaurants through our expanded program. It's an honor to offer our support and gratitude this way. It's an honor to be able to offer our support and gratitude in this way.'

To claim the $10 reimbursement, consumers 21 years old and over can upload their itemized receipt at guacontherock.com through June 5. The program will continue until it hits a nationwide cap of $1 million in reimbursements.
With more Americans cutting back on dining out due to inflation, the expanded campaign aims to help fans enjoy nights out without breaking the bank. According to the release, a recent report found that 84% of people said they're eating out less due to financial pressure — something Guac on the Rock hopes to ease.
'Guac on the Rock has always been about supporting our hospitality communities and helping people come together,' Johnson added. 'Cheers to sharing even more Mana, and enjoying even more appetizers with delicious Teremana cocktails all month long!'

Desi Arnaz Jr. Breaks Silence on His Father's Demons and the Fallout From 'I Love Lucy'

Desi Arnaz Jr. has spent most of his life avoiding the spotlight that once lit up every corner of his childhood. But People reported that in a rare interview for the new biography Desi Arnaz: The Man Who Invented Television by Todd S. Purdum, he opens up about growing up in the eye of a cultural storm, and the toll it took. Born into America's most famous television family, Desi Jr. was thrust into the public eye before he could walk. His birth was written into I Love Lucy, and he grew up on the set as his parents, Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, redefined entertainment. But while audiences adored their onscreen chemistry, their real-life relationship was crumbling behind closed doors. 'It wasn't good for anyone,' Desi Jr. said of the constant arguing. He and his sister, Lucie, vividly remember the moment their parents told them the marriage was over. Lucie described their mother as deeply sensitive, often emotionally distant when hurt, while Desi Sr. was volatile but quick to move on—an emotional storm with no apology. The children's backstage experiences were just as complex. Lucie recalled hiding under bleachers when introduced to the audience. Desi Jr., by contrast, embraced the attention. Still, the pressure of fame left deep marks. Both siblings struggled to find stability in the shadow of legends. One of the most poignant moments in the book comes when Desi Jr. recounts helping his father seek treatment for alcoholism. After battling his own addictions, he guided his father toward rehab in 1985—a move that may have saved his life. 'He didn't stop drinking,' Desi Jr. said. 'He didn't know what the real poison was.' This biography isn't just about a television pioneer. It's about the fractured reality of fame and the complicated love between parents and children navigating a world built on performance. The "Let's Get Loud" singer hit the stage at the 2025 World Pride Music Festival in Washington, D.C. on June 6 and wore multiple glittering looks for the occasion. The most daring look that Lopez wore for her performance at the festival included a silver plunging thong bodysuit that was covered in hundreds of clear rhinestones. The bodysuit, designed by The Blonds, featured a plunging neckline that dipped low enough for Lopez to show off plenty of cleavage. The front of the bodysuit had an extremely high cut on the legs, leaving little to the imagination in the front, but offered more coverage in the back with a cheeky cut that showed off her toned backside. The silver lamé fabric of the bodysuit reflected the vibrant stage lights with each movement that Lopez made on the stage. She completed the daring look with performance-grade sheer stockings and matching silver sparkling knee high boots that also glittered. Ahead of her hosting duties, Lopez told PEOPLE that she tries to be flexible with her wardrobe — and has help from her stylists to curate different moods. "I work with my stylist and we kind of kick around ideas like, 'What do we want it to be for the performance and what do we want it to be for the hosting and what's our vibe?'" she explained "We feel it out because I think it does change. For me, my feelings change from month to month, like, 'Who do I want to be today?' because I feel like there's so many different sides to who I am fashion-wise." Read the original article on People

Sly Stone's Family Reveals the Music Icon's Private Health Battle After His Death at 82

Sly Stone died at age 82, his family announced in a statement on Monday, June 9 According to Sly's relatives, his death came after "a prolonged battle with COPD and other underlying health issues" The rocker struggled with drug use throughout his lifeSly Stone dealt with health issues privately throughout the end of his life. The Sly and the Family Stone leader's family announced his death at age 82 in a statement on Monday, June 9 and revealed he struggled with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and other medical conditions. "After a prolonged battle with COPD and other underlying health issues, Sly passed away peacefully, surrounded by his three children, his closest friend, and his extended family," wrote the family. According to the Mayo Clinic, COPD is an "ongoing lung condition caused by damage to the lungs" and results in inflammation "inside the airways that limit airflow into and out of the lungs." Stone's family did not specify his "other underlying health issues." "While we mourn his absence, we take solace in knowing that his extraordinary musical legacy will continue to resonate and inspire for generations to come," continued the statement. "Sly was a monumental figure, a groundbreaking innovator, and a true pioneer who redefined the landscape of pop, funk, and rock music," added the family. "His iconic songs have left an indelible mark on the world, and his influence remains undeniable." Sly and the Family Stone also featured two of his actual siblings, Freddie and Rose. They released hits like "Dance to the Music,' "Everyday People" and "Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin).' However, Sly's drug use and behavior affected the group, which split up for good in the 1980s. In 1983, he was arrested for cocaine possession in Florida. He went to rehab in 1996. Never miss a story — sign up for to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories. Sly quit drugs in 2019, after his use landed him in the hospital four times in a period of a few weeks. A doctor said drugs would kill him. 'That time, I not only listened to the doctor but believed him,' he told The Guardian in 2023. 'I realized that I needed to clean up. I concentrated on getting strong so that I could get clean. My kids visited me at the hospital. My grandkids visited me. I left with purpose.' In February, Questlove released the documentary Sly Lives! (aka the Burden of Black Genius) about the musician's rise and fall. At a Q&A screening of the film the same month, producer Joseph Patel explained he and Questlove chose not to feature Sly on camera in the documentary because it didn't 'feel right' given his frail health. "Ahmir's first thing he said was, 'Let's tell this story with a lot of empathy.' That's not empathetic,' Patel said. "We interviewed Sly for [the Oscar-winning documentary] Summer of Soul in 2020. And he had just gotten clean, and he just — he doesn't have the motor function." The producer continued at the time, "He can't speak in full sentences. His eyes reveal a precociousness and a lucidity that's there, but his motor function doesn't exist."
