Remainder of PSL 2025 to be played without DRS
New Delhi [India] May 22 (ANI): Following its suspension earlier this month due to border disputes between Pakistan and India, the remaining games of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 will continue to be played without the Decision Review System (DRS), according to ESPNcricinfo.
The Hawk-Eye team that provides the technology did not return to Pakistan after the league resumed. The first five games since the restart of the tournament have been without incident or dispute. The PSL or the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is yet to make any public comment about its absence.
Following the growing tensions between India and Pakistan, the PSL faced significant logistical difficulties due to the fluidity of scheduling. To minimise travel and movement of camera gear, a match in Multan was moved to Lahore, and the production team were required to extend their presence for a further week.
The series between Pakistan and Bangladesh was originally placed to begin from 25 May, the day the final of the PSL will now be held. The Pakistan vs Bangladesh series has been delayed by three days, while the number of games has been slashed from five to three.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Wednesday announced a revised schedule for the upcoming three-match T20I home series between Pakistan and Bangladesh. The Bangladesh team is scheduled to arrive in Lahore on May 25, three days before the opener.
The tourists' training sessions are planned for May 26 and 27 to ensure optimal preparation for the series.
For the three T20Is, former skipper Babar Azam, veteran keeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan and pace spearhead Shaheen Afridi are notable absentees in the 16-player group that will take on Bangladesh in three matches in Lahore.
Karachi Kings (KK) and Lahore Qalandars (LQ) take each other on in the PSL Eliminator at the Gaddafi Stadium on Thursday. On Wednesday, Quetta Gladiators booked their place in the final for the first time since 2019 when they beat defending champions Islamabad United by 30 runs.
United will now take on the winner of Thursday's game for a berth in the final alongside the Gladiators on Friday. (ANI)

India A Batter Yashasvi Jaiswal Refuses To Walk Despite Being Given Out
Last Updated: Jaiswal lost his cool and refused to walk on a debatable on-field LBW decision during the seventh over of the first day's play of the ongoing second unofficial Test. Yashasvi Jaiswal was left angry over a questionable umpiring decision on Day 1 of the second unofficial Test against England Lions in Northampton on Friday, June 6. The India A opener couldn't believe his misfortune as the umpire raised his hands on a debatable LBW shout by England seamer Chris Woakes. While the sharp inswinger from Woakes seemed to be going down the leg side, the umpire gave Jaiswal out when he was beginning to set his eyes in. Jaiswal, who had reached 17 off 25 deliveries with two boundaries, was rapped on the front pad by Woakes' incoming ball on an attempted flick. The movement was supposed to take the ball past the stumps, but the on-field umpire gave the left-hander out, leaving him bemused. Jaiswal showed his dissent by standing his ground and refusing to make the walk back. The youngster even signalled to the umpire that the ball was shaping down the leg side. Jaiswal lbw 17 to Woakes … not sure he necessarily agreed with the decision — Ali Martin (@Cricket_Ali) June 6, 2025 Jaiswal only started going back to the shed after a good 10 seconds trying to tell the umpire the ball would've missed the three stumps. With no Decision Review System available for the series against England Lions, the 23-year-old had no choice but to relent and start a painstaking walk to the Indian dressing room. Jaiswal was left shattered by the on-field call after hoping to build on his gains from the first unofficial Test in Canterbury. One of the rising stars in the young Indian batting juggernaut picked for the challenging tour of England, Jaiswal had struck a fluent half-century in the second innings of the first unofficial Test. He made 64 off just 60 deliveries in the closing hours of the drawn encounter after missing out in the first half following a watchful 24 off 55 balls. Jaiswal will now join the senior Indian squad for an inter-squad clash against India A in his final chance to firm up preparations for the five-match Test series against England, starting June 20. He was one of the positives from India's strenuous tour of Australia, amassing 391 runs at an average of 43.44, including a century in Perth, in India's 3-1 series defeat. Hockey India extends wishes to Hardik Singh for completing 150 international caps
Amsterdam [Netherlands], June 7 (ANI): Indian men's hockey team vice-captain Hardik Singh reached a significant personal milestone on Saturday, earning his 150th international cap during India's opening match of the European leg of the FIH Pro League 2024-25 against the Netherlands. The 26-year-old midfielder from Jalandhar, Punjab, has been a pillar of consistency and dynamism in India's midfield since his debut at the 2018 Hero Asian Champions Trophy, where India and Pakistan were declared joint winners. Since then, Hardik has become one of the most dependable figures in Indian hockey, representing the nation in nearly every major international tournament. A key architect of India's recent resurgence on the world stage, Hardik played a crucial role in securing the historic Bronze medals at the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Olympics, as well as the Silver medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. He was also part of India's gold-medal winning campaigns at the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou, the 2023 Hero Asian Champions Trophy in Chennai, and the 2018 edition in Muscat, Oman. Hardik's stellar performances have earned him widespread recognition, including the Arjuna Award in 2021, the Hockey India Balbir Singh Sr. Award for Player of the Year (2022 & 2023), and the Ajit Pal Singh Award for Midfielder of the Year (2024). Speaking on the milestone, Hardik Singh said, as quoted from Hockey India press release, 'It's an emotional moment for me. I've always worn the India jersey with immense pride, and reaching 150 caps feels surreal. This journey has been full of learning, resilience, and unforgettable moments. I'm grateful to my coaches, teammates, and family who have been my biggest support system. I look forward to continuing to give my best for the country.' Hockey India President Dilip Tirkey congratulated Hardik and stated, 'Hardik has grown into one of the most reliable and intelligent midfielders in world hockey. His ability to control the tempo of the game and step up under pressure is what sets him apart. On behalf of Hockey India, I congratulate him on this well-deserved milestone and look forward to many more standout performances from him.' Hockey India Secretary General Bhola Nath Singh added, 'Reaching 150 international matches at the age of 26 is a testament to Hardik's commitment, discipline, and fitness. He continues to be a great ambassador for Indian hockey and a role model for young players across the country. We are proud of his achievements and his contribution to Indian hockey's success story.' "Siraj is very, very capable": Bharat Arun on India fast bowler
Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], June 7 (ANI): With India heading into what's set to be a high voltage five-match Test series in England, former bowling coach Bharat Arun has recalled some of those tactical things which could decide the fate of the Indian pacers in the swinging conditions in England. Discussing the evolution and impact of Mohammed Siraj with Revsportz, Arun took a deep dive into how conditions and angles could magnify or reduce the effectiveness of a bowler. Arun highlighted Siraj's 2021 performances, particularly how his natural angle worked well against left-handers. Arun said while speaking to Boria Majumdar on Revsportz, 'Especially when bowling to left-handers, he had an actual angle which was leaving them.' 'But he tried to cut out that angle by going round the wicket to them. And your effectiveness comes down, especially when there is a slight movement off the wicket,' he added. He pointed out a specific moment at Lord's where tactical adjustment made a significant difference. 'Especially at Lord's, where there is a slope. And if you're using it when you're bowling from the Pavilion End, and if you're going to be bowling round the wicket, you don't get the advantage of the slope,' he said. 'So, just at tea time, I remember asking him to go over the wicket and bowl. The line should be the leg of the left-hander. So, natural angle that leaves him, it will be leaving him on off stump,' he noted. Arun says that change paid off. He described Siraj as 'very, very capable' and implied that he might be one of the most important bowlers in the upcoming series due to his awareness of conditions and grasp of angles. The former India bowling coach also spoke highly of Arshdeep Singh's potential, especially in seam-friendly English conditions. 'I was particularly impressed with Arshdeep during the IPL. He could move the white ball both ways,' Arun said. He also emphasized the role of the Dukes ball in England, often considered a paradise for seamers. 'Probably the Dukes is the most bowler-friendly ball in world cricket. In terms of seam, in terms of the shine, the conditions in England are so conducive,' he remarked. Arun thinks that bowlers like Siraj and Arshdeep could have a significant impact in England Test series thanks to the Dukes ball, Lord's slope, and India's strong pace battery but only if they can comprehend and adjust to the finer details of English conditions. India's Test squad for England series: Shubman Gill (c), Rishabh Pant (vc), Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Sai Sudharsan, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Karun Nair, Nitish Reddy, Ravindra Jadeja, Dhruv Jurel, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Akash Deep, Arshdeep Singh, Kuldeep Yadav.
