
4 charged following reported vehicle theft in Clarence-Rockland

Ontario Provincial Police say an 18-year-old and three other young people from Quebec have been arrested and charged following a reported vehicle theft in Clarence-Rockland.
Police said the incident happened Monday. Several witnesses reported a vehicle being stolen from a parking lot at around 8 a.m.
'Witnesses provided accurate details that were crucial to the investigation,' the OPP said.
'Members from both Russell County OPP and the Hawkesbury OPP coordinated their efforts and located the stolen vehicle at approximately 8:15 a.m. The driver was arrested at the scene.'
Four people are facing charges, including theft of a motor vehicle, possession of a device for the purpose of committing theft, and possession of break-in instruments. Three of the accused are under 18.
An 18-year-old from Terrebonne, Que. is also facing a charge of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
All four have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in L'Orignal on an unspecified date.
