Heidi Klum has awkward exchange with ‘rude' contestant during her ‘Project Runway' Season 21 return
But not everyone was thrilled to hear what the host, 52, had to say during the Season 21 premiere of 'Project Runway' on Thursday.
After a Disney-themed challenge put contestant Antonio Estrada in the bottom, he had some tense words for Klum, who returned to the competition series after stepping away in 2017.

'Am I being 'Punk'd?' Estrada questioned after they announced his fate. The model, who serves as both host and head judge, quickly responded: 'No.'
After judges Nina Garcia and Law Roach gave their feedback, Estrada pointed fingers at Christian Siriano, the designer's mentor.
'You keep blaming everything on Christian,' Roach noted.

'Christian told me his intern could make that dress in 30 minutes,' Estrada quipped as Siriano, 39, agreed.
'I just think this dress underneath, an intern could make it in 30 minutes. It's a tube dress,' the fashion icon continued before Klum added that Estrada's model 'just looked like a big loofah.'
Estrada didn't take kindly to the 'America's Got Talent' judge's feedback.

'I'm a Gemini, and I don't like people telling me what to do,' he explained. 'And I was like, 'You're an adult, you're going to listen to Christian, he's here for a reason, he's your mentor.' And I did listen to him. That's why I changed my look three times. You pushed me to be better.'
However, the competitor's words didn't sit right with the panel.
Roach, 47, called Estrada's words 'spicy' as Garcia, 60, echoed her co-worker's sentiments.
'Antonio, you're being so defensive. We're just trying to understand your work. I don't think there's any reason to be defensive,' the Elle magazine Editor-in-Chief said.

'I think Nina's right to call that out,' Roach added. 'I think you're being defensive, and also a little bit rude.'
'It's okay to be criticized and to be let down by the criticism. But to kind of throw it back comes across as really quite nasty,' he went on. 'I'm just letting you know, one girl to another.'
At the end of the episode, Estrada evaded elimination. A returning designer, Caycee Black, left the show instead.

Klum, meanwhile, initially hosted the show from 2004 to 2017. She won the 2013 Emmy Award for her role, alongside her former co-host Tim Gunn.
Klum was nominated nine times, with 'Project Runway' earning dozens of nods throughout its time on air.
On Wednesday, the star gushed over coming back to her roots.
'It feels so amazing to be back,' Klum told E! News. 'It really feels like coming home.'

Disney
'And then doing this with Law,' she stated, 'and obviously Nina, we've known each other for so long, Christian Siriano. And just having these 12 amazing, talented designers on the stage, it's just the most fun thing for me to watch and be part of.'
Roach himself was excited to work with Klum.
'To hear Heidi was back, it was like, 'Okay, this feels good,'' he told the outlet. ''This feels like history.''
Garcia noted that not all of the competitors could take the heat.
8 The competitors talk during their first competiton.
Disney
'The competition is tight, but I also think the judges, we are really telling them honestly how we feel,' she told viewers. 'And some take it well, some don't.'
Along with a drama-packed season, viewers are in store for a slew of celebrity guest judges, including Tyra Banks, Nikki Glaser, Zac Posen and Sara Foster.
Also making an appearance is Klum's fellow 'AGT' judge, Sofía Vergara.
'I was so happy that she said yes, because she's wearing, ultimately, the winning look,' Klum shared. 'I said to her, 'If you really hate it, I'm just gonna have to wear flats every time when I see you,' because she hates being shorter than me. She's always like, 'Klum, take those heels off.''
8 Season 21 of 'Project Runway.'
Disney
Klum and her former co-host Gunn, 71, both exited 'Project Runway' seven years ago, with the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover star sharing a heartfelt goodbye at the time.
'After 16 incredible seasons, I am saying 'Auf Wiedersehen' to 'Project Runway,' a show that I was honored to host and help create. I am incredibly proud of the show, and it will always have a special place in my heart,' she said in a statement. 'I am so appreciative of the dedicated fans, and most of all, I am grateful that we could shine a light on creativity and help launch so many talented designers' careers.'

Anthony Mackie Says an Unreleased Film From the ‘Worst Director to Ever Direct' Almost Cost Him His ‘Hurt Locker' Role: ‘They Offered It To Somebody Else'
Anthony Mackie is opening up about how he almost lost his role in 'The Hurt Locker' because of another director's unreleased film. During a recent episode of Variety's 'Know Their Lines,' Mackie shared the backstory behind being cast in the 2009 Oscar-winner. More from Variety Anthony Mackie Jokes He's a 'White Dude Legend' Since His Co-Stars Often Get Award Nominations Over Him: 'I Made Ryan Gosling Famous. Jeremy Renner...' 'Captain America: Brave New World' Sets Disney+ Streaming Date 'Sneaks' Review: Sneakerhead Culture Gets Animated in Pedestrian Kiddie Feature ''Hurt Locker' is probably one of the most important acting experiences I had,' he began. 'We shot that in 2007, and I remember I was doing a movie in North Carolina with quite possibly the worst director to ever direct. Ironically, because of that the movie never came out.' He continued, 'Because of that, the movie went over and I had to pull out of 'Hurt Locker.' They offered it to somebody else, and he said no because it wasn't enough money.' Despite Mackie being tied up with the other film, the production offered him the role again and was willing to wait until he wrapped the unreleased project. 'I went from this sucky director who had no business in being in the business or in the director's chair to Kathryn Bigelow,' Mackie said. 'The moment I landed in Amman, Jordan, we hit the ground running [with] cultural research, military research, character studies – the real work a director does. It really was poignant to me the type of people I want to work with and the type of people who shouldn't be working.' Mackie's performance in 'The Hurt Locker' was a career-defining role as he played Sergeant J.T. Sanborn, a soldier and member of the fictional bomb disposal unit in Baghdad, Iraq. The film received widespread critical praise for its portrayal of the war in Iraq. At the 82nd Academy Awards in 2010, 'The Hurt Locker' took home six awards from its nine nominations for best motion picture, best achievement in directing, best writing, original screenplay, best achievement in film editing, best achievement in sound mixing and best achievement in sound editing. Billie Piper Recalls 'Very Last-Minute' Invite For ‘Doctor Who' Return: 'Really Fun To Film'
As Doctor Who plots a return with the eponymous Time Lord seemingly taking on the form of a previous companion, Billie Piper is reacquainting herself with the secrets of the universe. Following the Season 15 finale of the rebooted BBC One/Disney+ series, in which the Ncuti Gatwa's 15th Doctor regenerates to take the form of Piper's Rose Tyler, the actress recently recalled how she came to return to the TARDIS. More from Deadline Ncuti Gatwa Bids 'Bittersweet' Farewell To 'Doctor Who' After Two Seasons: 'Time To Hand Over The Keys To That Beloved Blue Box' BBC Pledges To Be 'Mindful' Of Spoilers After Irate Viewers Complain About 'Doctor Who' Reveal BBC Faces Pressure To Pull Last Season Of 'MasterChef' Featuring Wallace & Torode Before August 6 Launch Date 'This is such a minefield, I have to really engage with how I answer this,' she said at Florida Supercon. 'All I can say is, I was approached very last-minute, and I can't talk about in what capacity, but I found it very emotional to film, and I think it's a really great ending.' Noting she had to keep the finale twist a secret, Piper explained, 'I just found it quite moving, and it was really fun to film because it had such a sort of cloak-and-dagger feeling about getting it made. So, yeah, I have to lie a lot about anything to do with Doctor Who, it seems.' Since her original run in the first two seasons from 2005 to 2006, Piper has reprised the role of Rose on several occasions, most recently being the 2013 episode 'The Day of the Doctor', as well as the podcast series Doctor Who: The Tenth Doctor Adventures in 2017. Following Piper's return in the May finale of Season 15 (Season 2 under Disney's leadership), Gatwa announced his exit from the show, explaining that the role was a 'real pleasure and honor,' but the departure 'felt like the right timing and the right energy, and it's felt melancholic and bittersweet.' 'It was always the plan to do this amount of seasons, because it's a role that demands a lot of you, physically and emotionally and mentally,' said Gatwa in a behind-the-scenes featurette. 'The actors playing the Doctor are only actors playing the Foctor; unfortunately, we are mere mortals. I would love to have the energy and the youth to be able to do this full time for the rest of my life, but my knees are telling me it's time.' Doctor Who has not yet been renewed for Season 3 at Disney+ and BBC. ‘Eyes of Wakanda' Is a Bizarrely Brief Return to the African Nation: TV Review
Creator Todd Harris and executive producer Ryan Coogler are welcoming audiences back to Wakanda in Disney+'s latest animated series, 'Eyes of Wakanda.' Venturing beyond the walls of the royal court, while remaining within the Marvel Cinematic Universe's 'Sacred Timeline' (which also houses Coogler's films), the show introduces Wakanda's CIA, the Hatut Zaraze. Tasked with recovering stolen Vibranium artifacts from across the globe, these warriors bravely expose themselves to outsiders, carrying out varied heart-pumping missions to keep their country safe and hidden. 'Eyes of Wakanda' is fun and engaging. However, it's not quite the fully realized narrative that many 'Black Panther' fans might hope to see. The series opener, 'Into the Lion's Den,' follows Noni (Winnie Harlow), a soldier recently ousted from the esteemed Dora Milaje, Wakanda's elite all-female security detail. Given the opportunity for redemption, Noni is sent on a mission to depose Nakati (Cress Williams), the former Captain of the King's Guard. Full of greed and ambition and now living under a new title, Nakati, aka the Lion, has fled Wakanda, stealing an array of Vibranum weapons to make a name for himself around the world. A rebel in her own right, Noni is assigned to bring the traitor to his knees and return the stolen items to their rightful home. Noni is desperate to get back into the Dora Milaje's good graces. Yet, the Lion's forces are a bit more challenging to overcome than she expected. More from Variety Jeremy Renner Is 'Sure' He'll Return for 'Hawkeye' Season 2 and Other Marvel Projects: 'My Body's Getting Ready' What's Coming to Disney+ in August 2025 'Eyes of Wakanda' Trailer: Black Panther's Ancient History Told in Animated Series From Ryan Coogler The duration of 'Eyes of Wakanda' Season 1 finds Hatut Zaraze's warriors at various points in history. In Episode 2, 'Legends and Lies,' B'Kai (Larry Herron), a devout agent who has been undercover for nearly a decade, finds himself an unwitting participant in Greece's war against the Trojans. In the season finale, Kuda (Steve Toussaint), a veteran operative, is responsible for mentoring Prince Tafari (Zeke Alton), who, desperate for validation as the third-born son, is all too eager to go off mission to attain personal glory. All of the episodes are well-rounded and easy to absorb. However, the standout among them is Episode 3, 'Lost and Found.' By the skin of his teeth, Agent Basha (Jacques Colimon) escapes snow-covered 15th-century China with a Vibranium-infused dragon statue. However, upon returning to headquarters in Wakanda's Golden City, he quickly realizes his covert operation has been infiltrated. To rectify his mistake and prevent his superiors from discovering his errors, he uses his charm and wit. While the majority of the episodes are serious in tone, this one infuses some of the humor and levity that was found woven throughout Coogler's live-action movies, 'Black Panther' and 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.' Though 'Eyes of Wakanda' is intriguing, the four-episode season, which consists of 30-minute stories, is extremely short. Each episode exists as a standalone, but it could also have worked as a feature-length film. 'Black Panther' film fans and those who are more familiar with the lore of the iconic kingdom are offered additional context about the Hatut Zaraze. Yet, the series feels like an epilogue or prologue rather than a complete standalone show. Still, the show is stunning to watch. Axis Animation uses a hand-painted afro-futuristic style, inspired by contemporary Black artists. Because of the varied locations throughout the first season — from Wakanda's Golden City to 12th-century Greece and 19th-century Ethiopia — each setting is vast, robust and highly detailed. Moreover, because 'Eyes of Wakanda' doesn't center on one specific character, audiences are introduced to a vast array of Wakandans across time, who have a huge stake in what will happen to their country if its exquisite resources aren't recovered. Despite its compact length, 'Eyes of Wakanda' is a solid beginning for Marvel's Phase Six. The show introduces viewers to different aspects of Wakandan culture, further reiterating the power and importance of the sacred Vibranium. Though it's not explicit, the show also nods at the horrors of racism, colonization and pillaging as well as the cost of repatriation. Beautifully rendered, the series isn't as expansive as 'Black Panther' lovers might expect, but it's a decent holdover until 'Black Panther 3' debuts. 'Eyes of Wakanda' is now streaming on Disney+.
