Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources.
Legendary wrestling commentator Jim Ross provided a significant update on his health during a live episode of his Grillin JR podcast. Ross, who revealed earlier this month his diagnosis with colon cancer, confirmed that his surgery is scheduled for tomorrow morning, May 27th.
Ross shared that the cancer has been located in two places, but expressed a resilient mindset heading into the procedure. "Getting ready for surgery, and that's always stressful but I've prepared myself mentally and physically to endure the situation," Ross said on the show.
He mentioned doctors anticipate a six-day hospital stay and that the surgery will be less invasive, though he was awaiting more specific details. Fortunately, he also noted that he is "not in any pain" currently.
Despite the upcoming surgery, Ross remains focused on his career and has no plans to step away from wrestling. While he stated, "I'm thinking I'll really slow down after the surgery. I'll talk to the doctor, and see what he says. I'll try to really slow down when this is over," he also believes he can maintain his previous AEW schedule.
"I could still do my schedule I had, but I don't know if anybody else believes that. I believe it. I still would love to do the pay-per-views in AEW, but I don't know if Tony will want me on, I don't know." He definitively added, "I don't plan on retiring, I plan on getting healthy and getting well and doing something for somebody and we'll see how that works out."

The WWE Hall of Famer also spoke about the incredible support he has received. He shared a touching moment: "I was at home and I got a call from Steve Austin. And when we got off the phone, I looked at my phone and we talked for 43 minutes."

"And here's what your friends do. They call you, they talk to you, and at the end of the conversation, they tell you they love you. That's what Steve did. So that's what I got. And that cheered me up.
And it made me feel strong and vibrant." He also praised AEW President Tony Khan, stating, "Tony Khan called me, which was nice. You know, the Khan family has done an amazing job of taking care of JR since I signed with their company. He's very talent-friendly. Maybe too friendly at times."
Looking ahead, Ross is optimistic about attending AEW All In: Texas later this summer. When asked about the possibility, he responded enthusiastically, "Hell ya, I think so. Why not?" Due to his current focus on his health, Ross mentioned he did not get a chance to watch the wrestling shows from the past weekend, saying, "I did not. I was sleeping."

Ben Stiller talks bonding over basketball with Timothée Chalamet, a 'genuine Knicks fan through and through'

Ben Stiller has an incredible Hollywood resume as an actor, producer, director, and writer. But first and foremost, he's a Knicks fan. A staple at Madison Square Garden throughout the regular season and playoffs, Stiller has also been cheering on his Knicks on the road during the postseason, as he was in the building in Indiana for Game 4 against the Pacers, sitting next to fellow actor and diehard Knicks fan Timothée Chalamet. Advertisement Stiller and Chalamet have become quite the tandem when it comes to cheering on the Knicks, and Stiller explained on The Putback with Ian Begley, how he and Chalamet have formed a bond over their beloved team. 'We met each other over the years a few times and I'm a fan of his, he's a great actor, always seemed like a nice guy,' Stiller said. 'Saw him at some Knicks games and then we were at the Detroit series and were both looking to go to Detroit, so we decided to go together and got to know each other. 'Genuine Knicks fan through and through. New Yorker, New York kid, and has a true appreciation of the game and no trouble calling out the refs during a game, too.' While sitting courtside in Indiana, Stiller and Chalamet, along with Spike Lee, were the subject of a WWE-style roasting by TV personality and former Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee. Advertisement "We got some bigwigs from the big city in the building. Spike Lee is here. Ben Stiller is here. Timothée Chalamet is here. Let's send these sons of bitches back to New York with their ears ringing," McAfee said to pump up the crowd during the fourth quarter of Game 4. Stiller was able to get a good laugh out of it, though, saying on The Putback that Indiana had an 'amazing, amazing atmosphere,' and that McAfee should head to the Big Apple for Thursday night's Game 5. "I have to say, I was not familiar with his game. I did not know that was coming," Stiller said. "I did know that Timothée has been on his show and I was like 'Oh, that's your boy, that's your guy,' so then when that happened I was a little bit like 'Whoa, okay.' But the WWE aspect, I get it. It's just not the way it happens in New York. Advertisement "He should come to the Garden for Game 5. They'll put him up on the screen and they'll show him punting the ball, and everybody will give him a nice cheer. That's how we do it in New York. "But I get it. It was fun. I feel like he was just trying to get the crowd riled up. It was a little bit out of the blue… it just seems a little cartoonish, but then again it goes with the WWE." Knicks fans can certainly expect to see Stiller and Chalamet on Thursday night at Game 5, as the Knicks look to stay alive and flip the momentum in the series, with Indiana up 3-1 in the best-of-seven set. Any chance we'll get to see the two actors mic'd up during the game? "They don't want to do that," Stiller said with a laugh. "I'm telling you." Fans React to AEW Superstar's Shocking Move to WWE

Fans React to AEW Superstar's Shocking Move to WWE originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Just as the AEW product is starting to catch fire on the road to "All In," the company has suffered a massive blow to its blossoming women's division. After months of speculation sparked by reporting from Andrew Baydala, Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp and PWInsider's Mike Johnson are both alleging that former AEW Women's World Champion Mariah May has been removed from the roster page and is set to jump to WWE. Advertisement May signed with the promotion in November 2023, with the bulk of her run involved in an excellent program with "Timeless" Toni Storm. It's unclear at this time why the 26-year-old decided to switch companies at this time, but she immediately slots in as the face of NXT or as a prominent contender on the main roster. Fans across the wrestling world have reacted accordingly. WWEGetty Images There's something inherently funny about immediately trying to craft the narrative without all the information of the story. Fantasy booking Liv Morgan vs. Mariah May in the second custody of Dominik Mysterio ladder match would do numbers. Many fans have suggested pictures like this signal May's goal was to be in the WWE. From a historical lens, is this one of the more impactful promotion switches ever—especially in the modern era? Even with her departure, Tony Khan and AEW's writing staff did a tremendous job raising her status as a performer. Can anyone top this sendoff? It's unclear when May will start with WWE, but she's joining the most talented women's roster in North American history. The dream matches are endless and should be a main event player in no time.
