(Reuters) -Brentford have signed Feyenoord midfielder Antoni Milambo on a five-year deal with an option to extend for another year, the Premier League club said on Thursday.
Milambo, 20, spent more than a decade at Feyenoord. He made his senior debut in 2021 when he was 16, becoming the youngest to play for the Eredivisie side. The Dutchman scored eight goals in 60 first team appearances for Feyenoord in all competitions.
"Antoni has played a lot of football in the last 12 months and really shot to prominence," Brentford manager Keith Andrews said in a statement.
"Now it's just a case of getting him used to the intensity and rhythm of the Premier League and our own intensity levels."
Brentford, who finished 10th last season, kick off their 2025-26 league campaign at Nottingham Forest on August 17.

The clubs are currently in the United States for the Club World Cup, where they have both reached the quarter-final stage, and the agreement was made at Fort Lauderdale, with contractual details still to be settled. Gittens joined Dortmund as a youth player in 2020 from Manchester City, making his senior debut in 2022, and has made 107 appearances for the German side in all competitions, scoring 17 goals. "Jamie Gittens's career is an example of the development of top talents at Borussia," Dortmund managing director Lars Ricken said in a club statement. "We discovered Jamie very early, practically signed him for free, continuously developed him in our youth performance centre, and also offered him playing time at the very highest level with the first team. "Jamie has repaid the trust placed in him with commitment, performance, and goals." Chelsea are looking to strengthen their left wing after they opted not to make Jadon Sancho's loan deal from Manchester United permanent. Blowout suspected in crash that claimed lives of Diogo Jota and brother

CERNADILLA, Spain: Liverpool forward Diogo Jota and his brother, Andre Silva, were killed in a single-car accident near Zamora, Spain, police said Thursday. Jota, a Portuguese international, was 28. Silva was 26. Multiple reports said the siblings were found dead after their Lamborghini went off the road on an isolated stretch of highway. Police said the car was in flames upon arrival. A Spanish Civil Guard spokesperson said it is believed that the driver lost control after a tyre blew out, per ESPN. It was not immediately clear who was driving the car. Jota helped Liverpool capture the Premier League championship last season. He also helped Portugal win the UEFA Nations League last month. "We have lost two champions. Their deaths represent irreparable losses for Portuguese football, and we will do everything we can to honour their legacy every day," the Portuguese Football Federation said in a statement. Jota recorded 65 goals and 26 assists in 182 appearances for Liverpool since arriving from Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2020. He married his wife, Rute Cardoso, last month. They have three children. Cristiano Ronaldo, Jota's teammate with Portugal, sent his condolences to the brothers' family. "It doesn't make sense. We were just together with the national team, you had just got married," Ronaldo wrote in Portuguese in a post on social media. "To your family, your wife, and your children, I send my condolences and wish them all the strength in the world. I know you will always be with them. Rest in peace, Diogo and Andre. We will all miss you." Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James, who is a minority owner of Liverpool FC, also took to social media in response to the news. "My prayers goes out to his loved ones during this time! May you all be guided and protected! YNWA JOTA!!" he wrote. The Premier League also released a statement on social media. "Everyone at the Premier League is shocked and devastated to learn of the tragic passing of Diogo Jota and his brother Andre," the statement read. "Our sincerest condolences go to Diogo's family, friends, Liverpool FC, and all their supporters at this heartbreaking time. Football has lost a champion who will be forever missed. We will continue to support our friends and colleagues at the club." - Field Level Media/Reuters
