Katie Holmes, 46, twins with mini-me daughter Suri Cruise, 19... after star supported ex Tom Cruise

Daily Mail10-07-2025
Katie Holmes and her mini-me daughter Suri showed off their quirky summer styles on separate outings in New York City this week.
The Dawson's Creek alum, 46 - who sent fans wild by liking a post which confirmed ex Tom Cruise 's romance with Ana de Armas - kept it casual as she took a stroll in the hot weather.
The 19-year-old college student recently returned to the Big Apple amid her summer break at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.
Holmes donned a pair of khaki-colored trousers as well as a sleeveless white top to help her stay cool.
The star pulled her brunette locks into a simple bun and accessorized the outfit with a gold necklace.
Katie sported a pair of black shades and easily carried a black backpack over her right shoulder as she made her way down a quiet street.
Elsewhere in the city, Suri wore a white tank top as well as a low-waisted, patterned skirt that stopped just above her knees.
The only daughter of Katie and Tom Cruise slipped into a pair of blue socks and comfy sneakers.
She easily carried a red purse and navy sweater over her shoulder as she listened to music through earbuds during her daytime excursion.
The student's hair was partially pulled back away from her face and later was seen donning a different ensemble.
Suri wore a white tank top as well as a pair of light blue denim jeans that were secured with a brown leather belt around her waist.
Also this week on Tuesday, the teen was spotted taking the subway like any normal New Yorker - despite her father's net worth of $600 million.
The 19-year-old began her college education at the private university last year - and was seen moving in with the help of her famous mom Katie.
During an interview with Town & Country, Holmes opened up about her daughter's big step and gushed that she was very 'proud.'

'Of course, I will miss the close proximity, but I'm really proud of her and I'm happy. I remember being this age, this time of beginnings.'
The Batman Begins actress added, 'It's exciting to learn about yourself, and I loved that time, so it makes me happy to think about it like that.'
Despite his estrangement from Suri, Tom has a trust fund for his daughter which officially 'kicked in' when she turned 18.
'It is part of the divorce deal that a trust fund provided by Tom Cruise be shared with daughter Suri Cruise when she turns 18, and it is substantial,' a source informed DailyMail.com last year.
However, she did not receive all the money at once - and instead will have access to the full amount when she reaches her thirties. Holmes has also set up a trust fund for the college student as well.
While it is believed his child support payments to Katie have stopped, the actor has agreed to cover their daughter's health, dental, college tuition and other extracurricular costs.
A separate insider previously told DailyMail.com that the Hollywood star has been paying Suri's $65k-a-year college tuition.
'Tom is indeed paying for Suri's tuition - he has always paid for her schooling and would never stop as he is a stand-up guy.'
The source added, 'He has never hesitated paying his daughter's child support and expenses. He does not go back on his word. He is fulfilling his obligation.'
Katie and Suri's outings come not long after the actress sent fans into a frenzy when she liked an Instagram post which confirmed her ex Tom's romance with Ana de Armas in May.
The post appeared on Daily Mail's official Instagram page, linking to a story about the pair confirming the union while also revealing his other ex Penelope Cruz approved.
She appears to have since removed the like but not before eagle-eyed Daily Mail readers spotted the activity.
Some wrote in the comment section: 'Katie holmes liked this post... Did anyone else notice that Katie Holmes liked this post?'
MailOnline has contacted representatives for Katie, Tom and Ana for comment.
Tom and Ana were first romantically linked earlier this year in February when they were spotted for what was reportedly a professional dinner in London.
The following month, they were pictured with cheeky smiles on both of their faces after their flight landed at the London Heliport.
That alleged work meeting as well as many others fueled rumors that the pair were more than just coworkers.
In April, the pair were spotted arriving together in London again to spend de Armas' 37th birthday together before fans spotted them on a romantic stroll through the park that same week.

NASA astronaut Jim Lovell remembered by Apollo 13 star Tom Hanks after his death at 97

shared a moving tribute to the late Jim Lovell on Friday, following his death at 97. The 69-year-old actor was well acquainted with the former NASA astronaut's accomplishments after having played him in Ron Howard's film Apollo 13. Lovell commanded the failed Apollo lunar mission in 1970, but he helped to rescue himself and his crew mates by returning the ship back to Earth after an oxygen tank had exploded on the voyage through space. In a text post shared on Instagram, Hanks wrote, 'There are people who dare, who dream, and who lead others to the place we would not go on our own. 'Jim Lovell, who for a long while had gone farther into space and for longer than any other person of our planet, was that kind of guy,' he continued. 'His many voyages around Earth and on to so-very-close to the moon were not made for riches or celebrity, but because such challenges as those are what fuels the course of being alive — and who better than Jim Lovell to make those voyages. 'On this night of a full Moon, he passes on — to the heavens, to the cosmos, to the stars. God speed you, on this next voyage, Jim Lovell,' Hanks concluded. In 1995, Hanks starred as Lovell in the box office hit Apollo 13, which also starred Kevin Bacon, Bill Paxton and Gary Sinise as fellow astronauts Jack Swigert, Fred Haise and Ken Mattingly, respectively, though Mattingly was grounded and replaced by Swigert shortly before the start of the mission. Ed Harris rounded out the NASA ensemble as Flight Director Gene Kranz, while Kathleen Quinlan played Lovell's wife Marilyn. The film received stellar reviews and was a box office hit, grossing more than $355 million against a $52 million budget. It was nominated for nine Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and it won two, for Best Film Editing and Best Sound. In 1998, Hanks, a longtime support of NASA and an advocate for space exploration, produced the HBO miniseries From The Earth To The Moon, which traced the history of NASA Apollo program and lunar exploration. In 2005, Hanks co-wrote and co-produced the IMAX film Magnificent Desolation: Walking On The Moon 3D, and in 2023 he narrated the London-based immersive exhibit The Moonwalkers: A Journey With Tom Hanks. The same year, he joked about the extremes he was willing to go to in exchange for a chance to visit the moon. 'I would like to be the guy in charge of serving food and making jokes to and from the moon,' he said. 'If there was room, I would be the guy that cleans up, makes jokes, tells stories and keeps everybody entertained.' He starred in Apollo 13 in 1995 for director Ron Howard. The film was a hit with critics and grossed $355M against a $52M budget, while also winning two Oscars; seen May 28 in NYC In a 1995 interview on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Lovell told the comedian how he let Hanks fly his plane near his Texas home at night to experience something close to what it was like to travel through the pitch black of outer space. 'You let Forrest Gump take the controls of the plane?' O'Brien said in shock. 'Yeah, yeah, I was worried about that,' Lovell joked. 'But my niece went to see the movie and she said, 'Well I knew that they'd make it OK because Forrest Gump was flying.' NASA Administrator Sean Duffy announced Lovell's passing, saying the astronaut's life and work 'inspired millions of people across the decades.' 'Jim's character and steadfast courage helped our nation reach the moon and turned a potential tragedy into a success from which we learned an enormous amount,' Duffy said. 'We mourn his passing even as we celebrate his achievements. 'From a pair of pioneering Gemini missions to the successes of Apollo, Jim helped our nation forge a historic path in space that carries us forward to upcoming Artemis missions to the moon and beyond.' Lovell was a veteran of four spaceflights: Gemini VII, Gemini XII, Apollo 8 and Apollo 13. Born in Ohio, he graduated from the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, becoming a test pilot. Lovell served as a flight instructor and safety officer until 1963, when NASA selected him for a crewed space program. The 1968 Apollo 8 crew, with Lovell, Frank Borman and William Anders, was the first to leave Earth's orbit and the first to fly to and circle the moon. Though they could not land on the lunar surface, their mission still put the US ahead of the Soviets in the space race. Letter writers said the crew's historic 'pale blue dot' photo of Earth from the moon, a world first, and their Christmas Eve reading from Genesis helped lift America during the turbulent year. That year saw the assassinations of Martin Luther King Jr and Robert F Kennedy, the Tet Offensive in Vietnam and widespread protests against the Vietnam War and for civil rights. The three astronauts broadcast a reading about Jesus' birth to a worldwide television audience. They each read portions of the first 10 verses of Genesis, marking a historic moment in space exploration and a cultural touchstone. 'As the Command Module Pilot for Apollo 8, Jim and his crewmates became the first to lift off on a Saturn V rocket and orbit the Moon, proving that the lunar landing was within our reach, Duffy shared. 'As commander of the Apollo 13 mission, his calm strength under pressure helped return the crew safely to Earth and demonstrated the quick thinking and innovation that informed future NASA missions.' The Apollo 13 mission, planned as the third lunar landing, was cut short when an oxygen tank in the Service Module exploded. The blast, which happened roughly two days into the flight, severely damaged the spacecraft and knocked out the command module's life support and electrical systems. 'The thought crossed our mind that we were in deep trouble. But we never dwelled on it,' Lovell said in the NASA interview. 'We never admitted to ourselves that, 'Hey, we're not going to make it.' Well, only one time - when Fred looked at ... the lunar module and found out we had about 45 hours worth of power and we were 90 hours from home.' Lovell and his crew, working closely with Mission Control, saved Apollo 13 by quickly adapting the lunar module into a lifeboat after an explosion crippled their spacecraft. They relied on the module's resources and engines to navigate around the moon and safely return to Earth, overcoming critical challenges such as limited oxygen, low power, and increasing carbon dioxide levels. People worldwide were captivated by the events unfolding in space, and got a happy ending. The astronauts altered course to fly a single time around the moon and back to Earth, splashing down in the Pacific Ocean near Samoa on April 17, 1970. 'Known for his wit, this unforgettable astronaut was nicknamed Smilin' Jim by his fellow astronauts because he was quick with a grin when he had a particularly funny comeback, said Duffy. 'Jim also served our country in the military, and the Navy has lost a proud academy graduate and test pilot. 'Jim Lovell embodied the bold resolve and optimism of both past and future explorers, and we will remember him always.' Lovell, who later had a moon crater named in his honor, retired as an astronaut in 1973, working first for a harbor towing company and then in telecommunications. Hollywood superstar Tom Hanks played Lovell in director Ron Howard's acclaimed 1995 film, 'Apollo 13.' The movie was inspired by Lovell's 1994 book, 'Lost Moon: The Perilous Voyage of Apollo 13.' Lovell recalled a meeting with Howard in which the director asked the astronaut which actor he would want to play him. 'I said, 'Kevin Costner,'' Lovell said. 'And Hanks never lets me forget that... But Hanks did a great job.' Lovell made a cameo appearance in the film as the commander of the US Navy ship that retrieves the astronauts and shakes hands with Hanks. Lovell had four children with his wife, Marilyn, who died in 2023.

A brand of one's own: how Denmark's women are redrawing fashion's rules

Football fans will be familiar with the manager musical chairs, but fashion has been strangely similar over the last year. Since mid-2024 there have been 17 new designers appointed to head up houses including Gucci and Dior. But, in an industry fuelled by womenswear, just four of these appointments have been women. And there are other depressing statistics. Of the top 30 luxury brands in the Vogue Business Index, a mere five creative directors are women. At Kering, the luxury conglomerate that owns Balenciaga and Valentino, there is just one: Louise Trotter at Bottega Veneta. At LVMH, the fashion behemoth that counts Loewe and Dior among its brands, again, just one label is helmed by a woman – Sarah Burton at Givenchy. There's more. In February, research by 1Granary found that 74% of students at top fashion programmes are female, yet 88% of fashion's top designer roles are held by men. The last time a woman won designer of the year at the Fashion awards was in 2012. And it's not just designers. The majority of those in positions of power at brands, such as CEOs and executives, are also male. There is an anomaly, though. This week, the 19th iteration of Copenhagen fashion week (CPHFW), known in the industry as the fifth fashion week, is being held in the Danish capital. Of the 42 brands participating, 26 are founded and led by females. Stine Goya – who now sells her eponymous label in over 30 countries, with the US being its second-biggest market outside Denmark – describes men's continual domination of the fashion industry as 'outdated'. Denmark's structural approach to equality, she says, has become a key instigator of change, with policies aimed at improving wage equality and schemes to encourage women to return to work after having children. 'Copenhagen has become an ecosystem for independent female-led brands,' she told me. 'There is a spirit of collaboration here, and a willingness to do things differently. It has allowed women to take up space and build businesses on their own terms.' Stephanie Gundelach co-founded OpéraSport, a brand that specialises in creating contemporary wardrobe staples from upcycled materials, with Awa Malina Stelter in 2019. Gundelach says much of their motivation comes from the desire to overcome this type of gender inequality. 'There is an unspoken bias in the fashion industry where often women have to work twice as hard to be seen as equally visionary. In Copenhagen, there is a shift happening. Women are building their own platforms rather than waiting for a seat at someone else's table.' Fashion's idea of what a woman should look like impacts everything, from the models who appear on the catwalks to the design of the clothes. In 2024, for instance, 1.4% of models on the catwalks at CPHFW were plus-size while in New York, London, Milan and Paris just 0.8% of models were plus-size. Cecilie Bahnsen, who popularised the idea of wearing intricate and romantic dresses with practical trainers, says that as a woman designing for other women her ethos is based around comfort. 'There is an ease to my pieces. They don't outshine you.' 'A lot of women want to wear something different to what male designers suggest they should wear,' says Anne Sofie Madsen, who this week relaunched her namesake brand with a new co-creative director, the stylist Caroline Clante. 'We look at clothing with a female gaze. Our customers are not only dressing to be desired or admired, but also to be themselves.' This season's collection included a pair of 'evening jeans', as well as meme-able 'rat bags'. While the creative jobs at the top of the fashion industry have become synonymous with burnout, Danish designers take a more holistic approach to work-life balance, in line with Danish work culture generally. Madsen, who prior to launching her own label in 2011 worked alongside designers including Alexander McQueen and John Galliano, credits fashion's traditional gauntlet of endless travelling, long hours and expectations to produce more than six collections a year as a catalyst for her hitting pause on her brand in 2017. 'I realised that I was living a life that I didn't want to live,' she says. 'I wanted to figure out a different way to be in fashion.' Now, Madsen and Clante are determined to build their brand to work around their lives, rather than making the brand their whole existence. Madsen is continuing to teach at the Scandinavian Academy of Fashion Design and Clante works as a freelance stylist. Sign up to Fashion Statement Style, with substance: what's really trending this week, a roundup of the best fashion journalism and your wardrobe dilemmas solved after newsletter promotion Bahnsen, who started showing in Paris in 2022, has kept her atelier based in Copenhagen, describing it as 'her bubble'. She allows her team of 26 women and four men to work flexible hours and discourages working at weekends. Gundelach and Stelter will often finish work at 3pm in order to spend time with their families, and Bahnsen's five-year-old son is a regular sight in her atelier. Livia Schück, co-founder of Rave Review – who this season showed delicate boho-inspired dresses and skirts made from deadstock – took her post-show bow while holding her five-month-old daughter. 'We don't have a culture where you need to stay until five or six because that's not workable when you have small kids,' says Stelter. 'Our workers know what we expect of them, but they have the freedom to work flexibly. As long as the work is getting done we are happy.' Many Danes talk about the 'law of Jante', a sort of Scandinavian social code based on the idea that no one is better than anyone else. Gundelach describes how it feeds into 'a collaborative rather than competitive energy' and says that 'there is a strong community of female creatives lifting each other up, which I feel is quite rare'. Goya credits 'a sense of openness' and an 'ambitious creative scene' as a driving force for independent female designers. 'It's not been about having an ego. It is about building a team, a brand and a community.' As Isabella Rose Davey, chief operating officer of CPHFW, points out, the women paving a new path in the industry hope that others will follow their lead. 'It is modern, forward thinking like this that we need to see more of outside Denmark to ensure that women are not locked out of senior positions.' Jessica Alba's ex Cash Warren spotted on date night with model 20 years his junior amid divorce

Jessica Alba 's estranged husband Cash Warren was seen stepping out for a lowkey date night with a model 20 years his junior. Back in January, it was confirmed that the Fantastic Four actress and Cash had separated after nearly 17 years of marriage and welcoming three children. The following month, she officially filed for divorce. Jessica, 44, has recently sparked up a new romance of her own and has been linked to To Gun: Maverick actor Danny Ramirez - who is 12 years her junior. In photos obtained by Page Six, 46-year-old Cash was spotted grabbing dinner in Los Angeles on Thursday with Hana Sun Doerr, 26. The pair could be seen standing outside of a restaurant before hopping into a sleek BMW together, with Cash in the driver's seat. He kept it casual wearing a pair of gray pants as well as a white shirt underneath and a gray jacket. Hana sported a black, cropped tank top as well as a pair of blue denim jeans and a black leather jacket that was draped over her shoulders. Before Cash and Hana climbed into the vehicle, they flashed cheerful smiles on their faces during a lighthearted moment. It is not known when the pair first crossed paths, but Jessica's ex has liked some of Hana's recent Instagram posts. The media personality recently celebrated her 26th birthday last month in July and graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor's in Sociology in June. Cash's latest outing with Hana comes shortly after he expressed he was not seeing anyone while talking to TMZ last week. At the time, he was spotted at LAX airport and offered his reaction to Jessica's new budding romance - eight months after their split was announced. 'I am happy for her,' the father-of-three told the outlet, before adding, 'I don't know him yet.' He then stated that he was not back on the dating scene but jokingly quipped to TMZ, 'Let me know if you got anybody.' The media personality recently celebrated her 26th birthday last month in July and graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor's in Sociology in June Daily Mail recently learned that Jessica is ready to take the next big step in their relationship and wants to introduce her children to Danny. The Honey actress shares Honor, 17, Haven, 13, and Hayes, seven, with Cash. A source stated, 'Things have really progressed between Danny and Jessica, she's smitten. 'She even wants him to meet her children. She was hesitant at first as being single is new territory for after being married to Cash for so many years, but this just feels right.' The insider continued, 'Initially she thought she might wait a bit for an introduction but things have moved quite fast. 'Danny is making her really happy and giving her a lot of joy - so why wouldn't she want to share that with her kids. She isn't getting too wrapped up in what Cash thinks about it all.' The source further told Daily Mail, 'This isn't a revenge romance for Jessica, it's about her having fun. Jessica can't imagine Cash begrudging her finding happiness, she hopes he can find it too.' Late last month in July, Jessica was seen passionately kissing her new boyfriend while out in L.A. In photos obtained by the couple were seen embracing and sharing a kiss outside on a quiet street. Danny sweetly draped his arms over her shoulders during the romantic moment and readjusted a cap on top of her head which caused her to flash a smile. The actor was later seen receiving a large flower delivery and the pair began to walk back towards his house together. Earlier that same week, Jessica and Danny were spotted enjoying date night at an Italian restaurant called Alba. Also in July, they were spotted vacationing in Cancun - which came after she was seen kissing a mystery man in London, although it is not confirmed whether that had also been Danny. A separate source told Daily Mail that the pair's budding romance has also taken a 'surprising turn.' 'Jessica's romance with Danny has taken a surprising turn. What started out as a summer fling feels like it's getting more serious, although she still wants to take things slow.' The insider added, 'But at the end of the day Jessica has never been one to play the field. She's excited to see where this romance is headed.' Jessica's new romance comes months after she filed for divorce from Cash Warren after nearly 17 years of marriage in February Another source informed Daily Mal that the Top Gun: Maverick actor is 'enamored' with the actress, but she isn't in the 'frame of mind' to be in a relationship that is exclusive. Danny 'has a chance to make something out of their connection, but she is taking it all in stride. Right now, she's looking to just have fun.' Jessica's new romance comes months after she filed for divorce from Cash Warren after nearly 17 years of marriage in February. She had cited 'irreconcilable differences' as the reasoning behind their separation, with Cash soon filing afterwards. They first crossed paths on set of the 2004 film, Fantastic Four, and they later said 'I do' in 2008. And in January, the actress took to Instagram to announce the end of her marriage to Cash with a message to her followers. 'I've been on a journey of self realization and transformation for years - both as an individual and in partnership with Cash,' she wrote. 'I'm proud of how we've grown in our marriage over the last 20 years and it's now time for us to embark on a new chapter of growth and evolution as individuals. Jessica added, 'We are moving forward with love, kindness and respect for each other and will forever be family. Our children remain our highest priority and we request privacy at this time.'
