[UPDATED] Police confirm plan to question Eda Ezrin, five others
Bukit Aman Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) director Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said all other individuals involved would also have their statements recorded.
"Our Thai counterparts have already informed NCID about the release of these individuals," he said when contacted today.
Hussein said the NCID would summon them for questioning and conduct urine tests.
"They are expected to be handed over by the Thai authorities at the Immigration, Customs, Quarantine and Security (ICQS) Complex, after which NCID Kelantan will take the necessary actions," he said.
It was reported that Malaysian singer Eda Ezrin was released from prison here yesterday after being held for almost nine months.
Eda Ezrin and the five others were detained by Sungai Golok police in a raid at a hotel on Nov 1 last year.

SUNGAI BULOH: Police have confirmed that a viral video showing the Malaysian flag flown upside down is linked to an incident that occurred last year. In a statement, Sungai Buloh district police chief Superintendent Mohd Hafiz Muhammad Nor said a police report was lodged by a 40-year-old man who works as a project manager at the company featured in the video, located in Bandar Pinggiran Subang. The complainant claimed the video and accompanying comments on social media were defamatory and misrepresented the company's current status. "Following an investigation, police reviewed CCTV footage and interviewed company employees. "We found that the upside-down flag incident occurred last year, when a newly purchased flag was installed incorrectly. "However, the error was promptly corrected at the time," said Hafiz. He added that the company has not been operating for the past two days, and the video in question was re-shared by a TikTok user. As of 7pm on Saturday, the video had received 5,332 comments and 2,515 shares. Hafiz emphasised that flying the Malaysian flag upside down is a serious matter, as it represents a symbol of national sovereignty. He warned that such mistakes, whether intentional or accidental, could be seen as disrespectful to the nation and may provoke public anger. He also advised the public to use social media responsibly and to avoid uploading or spreading false or defamatory content. "Social media platforms must be used with care. Irresponsible posts can mislead the public and cause unnecessary unrest," he said.
