Lewis Hamilton admits he was nervous about his fellow drivers seeing his Formula One movie and has revealed that he is working on more film projects.
The grid's stars were given an exclusive screening of the action movie, titled F1, on Wednesday at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco ahead of this weekend's grand prix.
It will see Oscar-winning actor Brad Pitt, 61, play the fictional veteran driver Sonny Hayes, who is returning to the sport after a long absence.
'All of a sudden, I've got all the drivers there, I was sat in the middle and I was nervous,' Hamilton said.
'I was like, 'oh God everyone's seeing it for the first time'. And it was great to look around and see some of the reactions. I really care what the drivers think and I wanted them to think highly of it.
'I think the great thing is the sound is great, the image is incredible. It's something that's never been done in Formula One before. So it's something I'm really proud of.'
The Apple Original film, which is being co-produced by seven-time world champion Hamilton, will launch internationally on June 25.
The 40-year-old revealed that, having got a taste for directing, he and his film studio Dawn Apollo are working on more upcoming projects.
'To think that it's finally here, after all the work that's gone on, from having (score composer) Hans Zimmer - speaking to Hans and having Hans come on board and doing this score, I'm a huge fan of his - so just the whole project was incredible,' Hamilton added.
'At the beginning you see all the different logos for the production houses and my one comes up, which I worked on for so long - Dawn Apollo. It comes up like all planetary, that was all my idea.
'I've got three concepts that I'm writing. We will be producing more movies over the coming years. I've got these concepts, these ideas that I've come up with for movies.
'At least two of them will be animations. One of them, we're already in the phase of the first part of the script already. So it's exciting.' F1 bosses hope the film, directed by Joseph Kosinski and co-produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, will help take the sport to new audiences in an even bigger way than Netflix's docu-series 'Drive to Survive' has achieved.
British driver Oliver Bearman praised Pitt's driving, saying: 'Honestly he did an impressive job. He was pushing the car, that's for sure.
'I know he was training in the background and I know the guy whose team he was training with and he said he was taking some risks and doing a good job. He did his homework, so it's cool.
'I think the goal of the movie is going to be achieved. It is going to be a huge hit and it is going to make people want to watch F1.' The drivers all played a part in the filming and George Russell is happy with the finished product.
'The way they integrated the drivers and team principals into a Hollywood movie it was like we are real characters in this Hollywood scene, so as an F1 fan you kind of find a bit of comedy in just seeing us popping up here and there with Brad Pitt,' Russell said.
On his own part, he added: 'It was about a three-second long performance but sometimes that's enough!'

Inzaghi becomes Al Hilal head coach after Inter Milan exit

PA Media/dpa London Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal have appointed Simone Inzaghi as their new head coach in the wake of his departure from Inter Milan days after defeat in the Champions League final. The 49-year-old Italian has signed a two-year contract and will lead Al Hilal into their Club World Cup campaign in the United States next month. A statement on Al Hilal's official website said: 'The board of directors of Al Hilal Club Company, headed by His Excellency Mr Fahd bin Saad bin Nafel, has completed the contracting procedures with the Italian coach Simone Inzaghi, coming from the Italian club Inter Milan to lead the technical helm of Al Hilal first football team. 'This is with a two-year contract until the end of the 2026/2027 sports season. 'Inzaghi will soon begin supervising the first team's training at the club's headquarters in Riyadh in preparation for the 2025 Club World Cup in the United States of America, which will begin on Sunday, June 15. 'Al Hilal will face Real Madrid in its first match in the tournament, which will be held on Wednesday, June 18, in Miami, USA.' Inzaghi left his job at the San Siro on Tuesday following Saturday's 5-0 Champions League final defeat by Paris St Germain in Munich. He had taken over Inter, who relinquished their Serie A title to Napoli on May 23, in July 2021 and won six trophies during his time at the helm.

Liverpool turn down Barca's approach for winger Diaz: Report

PAMedia/dpa London Liverpool have rebuffed an approach by Barcelona for winger Luis Diaz. The Colombia international has been a target for the La Liga champions for some time, although he has also been attracting interest from Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr. Only last month Barça's sporting director Deco publicly named Diaz, and Manchester United's Marcus Rashford, when talking about their transfer plans. However, the PA news agency understands when the Catalan club made an approach to Liverpool on Wednesday they were told they had no intention of selling. Diaz turned 28 in January and has two years remaining on his current deal but it is believed there are currently no plans to open negotiations on any extension. However, with Darwin Nunez expected to depart this summer and the future of Federico Chiesa in doubt after a frustrating debut season in which he made just 14 appearances, Arne Slot's Premier League-winning forward line already looks like losing two of its members. The arrival of Florian Wirtz, with discussions ongoing with Bayer Leverkusen over the transfer fee after a recent £109 million ($148.3 million) bid was rejected, will likely offset the impact of that - especially as Nunez and Chiesa contributed just nine goals between them. But it is understood potentially losing a third member of the attack would only be sanctioned if there was a bid which allows Liverpool to significantly improve the team or if the player agitated for a move. Last month Diaz told American-Spanish television channel Telemundo: 'For me, I'd stay however many years it takes.' Liverpool have already recruited Jeremie Frimpong from Leverkusen to strengthen their right side following the departure of Trent Alexander-Arnold and are looking to bolster the left with a move for Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez.

Gauff fights off Keys to make last four

PA Media/DPA Paris Coco Gauff passed her biggest test so far at the French Open as she scrapped her way past fellow American Madison Keys to reach the semi-finals. A scruffy match featuring a combined 101 unforced errors and 14 breaks of serve ended 6-7 (8-6), 6-4, 6-1 in favour of the world number two. Gauff had previously not dropped a set as she quietly made her way through the friendlier side of the draw. But in a nervy first set on both sides of the net, Gauff overturned a 4-1 deficit to force a set point at 5-4, only to be taken to a tie-break which Keys won. Gauff went 4-1 up in the second but found herself pegged back, before a break and a hold took the match into a decider. The confidence had drained from Australian Open champion Keys while Gauff finally located her serve, having coughed up nine double faults over the first two sets. A pass down the line brought up three match points and the 21-year-old roared with delight when Keys went long, giving her the victory in two hours and 11 minutes. 'Maddie was playing well, she's hitting the ball so fast and so low so I was just trying to fight for each point,' said Gauff. 'I knew I had to be able to run today and as soon as the ball came short, punish her for it. 'It means a lot, getting through this tough match. I'm very happy to get through. I'll savour this one today and be ready for tomorrow's match.'
