The Frieza family consists of Frieza, his father King Cold, and his brother Cooler (although Cooler is not officially part of the main canon). These three have one thing in common.
They're all terrifyingly powerful, and all were the most feared creatures in the universe.
Surprisingly, we don't know much about the source of these emissions. Their race is so overlooked, it doesn't even have an official name. Some fans refer to them as 'Frost Demons' or simply 'Frieza's race,' but officially, the Dragon Ball series has never given any clear answer. Even the home planet of these interstellar travelers remains a puzzle.

His father, King Cold, is even more powerful, although viewers haven't seen much of his combat prowess. Per the backstory, Cold and Frieza are both infamous as genetic freak born members of their race with power levels way above their peers.
We actually see this unfold in Universe 6 as well, where a character named Frost—who literally is Frieza—has these transformation abilities, proving that Frieza's race does share a common biology.
None of them can match Frieza's strength.
Frieza's secret weapon: Near-immortality and healing powers
One thing that sets the villainous clan apart from others is their insane lifespan. Frieza has lived after being cut in half, shot with every laser imaginable, and even blown to kingdom come — just to return with an even greater sense of purpose.

These aren't merely exciting, nostalgic moments. They establish that Frieza is potentially the most dangerous villain in Dragon Ball history at this point.
The Frieza force: Still a galactic threat
Despite his defeat, Frieza's army (the Frieza Force) continued to operate in space. They were super loyal, super dangerous, with soldiers that included the Ginyu Force and Sorbet. The army was instrumental in bringing Frieza back to life with the Dragon Balls in Resurrection 'F', illustrating just how loyal and useful they can be.

Dragon Ball Super already cracked open the multiverse, so while this is a possibility, it's far more likely that we'll see more characters from Frieza's race.
For now, Frieza is still the most powerful member known, and his recent form—Black Frieza—could prove to be a true threat to the gods themselves.

As Dragon Ball Super moves forward, fans can only remain thrilled (and slightly terrified) at the thought of what Frieza has planned next.
