Bobby Portis takes strong stance on Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo trade speculation
The post Bobby Portis takes strong stance on Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo trade speculation appeared first on ClutchPoints.
With the amount of trade rumors surrounding Milwaukee Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo, one person who gave their opinion on the matter was teammate Bobby Portis. Though there have been some reports saying that a trade market for the Bucks star is nonexistent since he hasn't asked out for a trade, Portis would echo some of the same sentiments.

Portis would appear on the show 'Run it Back' and was asked about the speculation around Antetokounmpo, but expressed how the star 'bleeds green.' Antetokounmpo has been teammates with Portis for the last five seasons, where they won a championship together in 2021, as the 30-year-old questioned if people truly wanted to see the superstar be with the Toronto Raptors.
'When you've been on a team for a decade plus and when you've done so much for a city,' Portis said. 'Low key, like basketball in Milwaukee wasn't a thing until like Giannis became who he was. So when you put that much effort into a franchise, that much trust and belief, and being loyal for so long. Like I said, I always go back to the point of me saying he bleeds green. No matter what's reported, no matter what might come into the threshold. Would you really want to see Giannis in Toronto as a basketball fan?'
There isn't a 'trade market' for Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo

Despite the trade rumors with Antetokounmpo and the Bucks, it does seem like a far cry that any momentum would lead to an exit, especially judging by recent reports. ESPN's Brian Windhorst would speak a few times on how there won't be a deal, like he said on 'Get Up' last Thursday.

'There's not going to be a Giannis Antetokounmpo trade in the short-term future,' Windhorst said. 'The league has come to terms with the real realization that the Bucks are going to keep him in. Giannis is not going to ask for a trade.'
Even a few days before that, Windhorst would say there isn't a 'trade market' since the two-time MVP hasn't asked out and Milwaukee has no intentions to trade a franchise great.
At any rate, Antetokounmpo and the Bucks are looking to improve after finishing with a 48-34 record, which put them fifth in the Eastern Conference before being eliminated by the Indiana Pacers in the first round of the playoffs.

Wisconsin basketball finalizes another notable nonconference opponent
Wisconsin basketball finalizes another notable nonconference opponent Wisconsin basketball will begin the Rady Children's Invitational against the Providence Friars, according to CBSSports' Jon Rothstein. The Badgers are part of a four-team field at the 2025 'Feast Week' event in San Diego, California, along with Providence, TCU and defending national champion Florida. The tournament will take place on Nov. 27 and 28, with the semifinal games on the 27th and the championship and third place game on the 28th. Wisconsin will face a Providence team that went 12-20 (6-14 Big East) in 2024-25 and finished ranked No. 96 in KenPom. The program has struggled in its first two years under Kim English, following an impressive 12-year run under Ed Cooley. However, CBSSports believes it could be primed for a resurgent 2025-26 campaign after a transfer-heavy offseason. The Badgers' matchups against Providence and either TCU or Florida, depending on the semifinal results, add to a loaded nonconference schedule. The team will begin with an exhibition against Oklahoma in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in late October. It will then travel to Salt Lake City, Utah, in mid-November for a high-profile rematch against BYU, a projected national title contender entering the season. That game precedes the Rady Children's Invitational, as well as the annual matchup against in-state rival Marquette (date is to-be-determined) and a mid-December contest against Villanova at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee. Wisconsin's full nonconference schedule has yet to be finalized. But the team already has five high-profile contests, not including the exhibition against the Sooners. Wisconsin's new-look starting lineup, led by returning starters John Blackwell and Nolan Winter, plus high-profile transfer additions Nick Boyd, Andrew Rohde and Austin Rapp, will be tested from the first game of the season. The team's nonconference schedule should accurately preview what to expect when Big Ten play picks up in January 2026. If the team performs against the listed gauntlet nonconference slate like it did against then-No. 9 Arizona to start the 2024-25 season, a win that was led by a dominant 41 points from future All-American wing John Tonje, Badgers fans could brace for a special season. Inter Milan Still Searching For ‘Turning Point' Between Inzaghi & Chivu
Inter Milan are still searching for a 'turning point' between Simone Inzaghi and Cristian Chivu after their Club World Cup opener against Monterrey. This is the view in today's print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. Advertisement The Cristian Chivu era is now officially underway at Inter Milan. The Romanian was on the bench for his first Nerazzurri match, in the form of their Club World Cup group stage opener against Monterrey. There were mixed signs from that match, it would be fair to say. In terms of the formation, Inter started out with a the 3-5-2 shape that had been customary under Inzaghi. However, they also switched to a 3-4-1-2 and 3-4-2-1 in the second half. And then, as far as new signings go, there were two debuts. Luis Henrique looked bright coming on as a substitute in the second. Less so the shaky Petar Sucic entering in midfield. (Photo by) Then there is the matter of set piece defending. Advertisement Inter Milan had always gone with pretty much a purely man-marking set pieces defending set pieces under Simone Inzaghi. On the other hand, there are already clear signals that Cristian Chivu is ready to change that. Inter defended much more zonally against Monterrey. In the view of Tuttosport, it is doubtful whether this is the right plan. After all, Inter conceded just twice from corners last season. However, Chivu will deserve some time to see whether his ideas can really work in guiding Inter successfully out of Inzaghi's reign. Right now, the team are still looking for that decisive turning point, though.
