Marvel Rivals Season 3 Trailer: Phoenix And Blade Join The Fight Against Knull
The new season is titled 'The Abyss Awakens,' and it is officially launching on July 11, 2025, UTC.
Big news for Marvel Rivals fans! The hero shooter video game, developed by NetEase Games in collaboration with Marvel Games, just got a new season. On Tuesday, July 1, the developers released the trailer for Marvel Rivals season 3, giving players a glimpse into what's to come. The new season is titled 'The Abyss Awakens," and it is officially launching on July 11, 2025, UTC.
The trailer begins with the rise of dark forces deep within the planet of Klyntar. It is the god of the symbiotes, Knull. This time, he is ready to spread his darkness across the universe and to do so, he sends out a powerful, new dark queen, Hela, to lead the charge. But heroes are all set to stand against his dark powers.
Before even the trailer dropped, there were rumours that Blade and Phoenix would be joining the Marvel Rivals in season 3. Those speculations came true. As seen in the trailer, Phoenix fights with Hela, followed by Blade's entry. Towards the end, both were seen fighting together against an empowered Hela. It is expected that Phoenix will be available in the game right from the beginning of season 3, and Blade might join her mid-season.
Taking to X, the official Marvel Rivals account released the trailer, writing, 'In the wake of the Timestream Entanglement, Knull stirs deep within Klyntar's core, stretching his shadowed hands across the cosmos. Power promised by the dark symbiote god beckons the awakening of a new queen. The Phoenix arrives from across the stars to erase Klyntar before the darkness can rise again! However, she'll require unlikely aid from a warrior of two worlds who lives to fight against the tide of night. As the god of the symbiotes and the Phoenix Force collide, will you burn with the light of creation or embrace the darkness?"

Besides the storyline, character reveal, and role of Knull in season 3, the new trailer has not given many hints about the content. In the coming days, players could expect more information on new events, cosmetic skins, gameplay additions, as well as a new Klyntar map. Before the release of the new season of Marvel Rivals, players can expect a short maintenance period; it is best advised to complete the battle pass and claim rewards from Season 2.5.
