Sheryl Crow Shares Empathetic New Single ‘I Know' for Mental Health Awareness Month

Yahoo23-05-2025

Sheryl Crow unfurled her new single 'I Know' on Friday (May 23) in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month.
On the tender ballad, the nine-time Grammy winner lays out the importance of empathy and connection as she sings, 'But maybe I could hold your hand/ And count the teardrops as they flow/ And promise never to let go/ I see the struggle in your face/ The only thing that I can say/ Is I know/ I know/ I know how it feels,' over restrained guitars.

The singer-songwriter, who recently served as a Mega Mentor on the just-concluded season 27 of The Voice, also opened up about the inspiration behind the song in a social media post on Wednesday (May 23). 'In a recent moment when I was really struggling, I picked up my guitar and wrote a song… Sometimes when we're struggling, just knowing that another soul can relate to what we're feeling makes things a little bit better. That's what this song is about,' she wrote.
Elsewhere in the caption, she championed the mission of mental health nonprofit organization To Write Love on Her Arms, which provides resources in order for people struggling with their mental health to find affordable resources such as therapy.
'And this I REALLY love: they have a 'Disconnect to Reconnect' challenge which encourages people to get off social media for two weeks and reconnect to what matters most,' Crow continued. 'Social media isn't really great for anyone's emotional well-being, so encouraging folks to [put] the phone down and enjoy nature, family and friends, music….I do that all the time, and I know how beneficial it is to take a break.'

Linkin Park Returns To No. 1 In America With Its First Smash

Linkin Park's 'In the End' returns to No. 1 on Billboard's Hard Rock Streaming Songs chart, marking ... More its eighth nonconsecutive week at the top. TOKYO - JULY 07: Chester Bennington of Linkin Park performs on stage at the Tokyo leg of the Live Earth series of concerts, at Makuhari Messe, Chiba on July 7, 2007 in Tokyo, Japan. Launched by former US Vice President Al Gore to combat Global Warming, the concert is one of a series taking place over a 24-hour period on July 7 across seven continents. (Photo by) Just a few weeks ago, Linkin Park re-released its album From Zero, turning it into a deluxe edition with several new tunes. The following week, that set bolted up a number of Billboard charts, but it didn't take long for its popularity to dwindle once more. A handful of tracks taken from the expanded set are still present on tallies in the United States, even as the full-length all but disappears. Even with new music now available, some of the hard rock group's earliest smashes are proving to be unbeatable — and the one that started it all for the outfit reigns supreme once more. "In the End" bolts from No. 5 to No. 1 on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs chart in America this week, officially becoming the most-streamed hard rock track in the nation once again. With another stint at No. 1 to its credit, "In the End" has now led the Hard Rock Streaming Songs chart for eight nonconsecutive weeks. It first reached the peak position in October of last year, having originally arrived in June 2020. Both "In the End" and "Numb" landed on the ranking at the same time, and the two have now spent just over five years on this chart. "In the End" has spent more time at No. 1 on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs tally than the group's other two champions combined. "The Emptiness Machine" – the lead single taken from 2024's From Zero – managed five frames leading the charge, while "Lost" earned the band its first leader in February 2023, holding for just one frame. "In the End" is becoming hugely successful again across several of Billboard's genre-specific rosters. In addition to jumping to No. 1 on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs chart, the track also reenters the Alternative Streaming Songs list at No. 24, after what must be a noticeable uptick in plays on platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, iHeartRadio, and many others. The track also manages to climb on both of Billboard's worldwide lists, lifting just a few spots on the two rosters. Five tunes by Linkin Park appear on at least one Billboard chart apiece this week. "Up From the Bottom," one of the major focuses from the From Zero deluxe edition, finds a home on half a dozen tallies. While it continues to rule a trio of airplay lists, it is largely falling when it comes to other forms of consumption.
