Pune: A 40-year-old PT teacher was arrested on Thursday night by Chandannagar police on charges of sexually harassing a 14-year-old female student between Tuesday and Thursday. Senior inspector Seema Dhakane, while talking to TOI, said the teacher was giving a lecture at a local school when he allegedly made inappropriate comments to girl students. "He reportedly suggested that boys would be interested in them if they exercised in the gym and maintained themselves well. While he did not physically touch the girls, one student was offended by his remarks and reported the incident to her mother," the officer said. "We recorded the statements of the girl and other students. Our investigation was completed within 24 hours and a chargesheet was filed against the teacher. He was produced before the special court that remanded him in 14-day judicial custody," the officer said. The accused teacher is currently lodged in the Yerawada Central Jail.

But instead of talking, Mukesh suddenly pulled out a sharp object and started attacking her without giving her any chance to react, a police source said.

Woman robbed of mobile in Kamla Nagar
Bhopal: Two bikers snatched a mobile phone from a woman near Rivera Town in the Kamla Nagar area on Wednesday night around 9 PM. The woman was on her way to the local vegetable market when the incident occurred. According to police, Pooja Sen, 30, a resident of Rahul Nagar, is a home-maker. She stepped out to buy vegetables during the weekly Haat Bazaar. As she reached near Rivera Town on foot, she received a phone call from her husband. While she was talking on the phone, two men on a motorcycle approached her, and the pillion rider swiftly snatched the phone from her hand. Before she could react, the duo sped away from the scene. The stolen phone is reported to be worth approximately Rs7,000. Following the complaint, Kamla Nagar police registered a case on charges of snatching against unknown suspects and started a search operation to track down the accused. CCTV footage from the area is being reviewed to aid in the investigation.
