Halo arrives on PlayStation with Helldivers 2 crossover featuring Halo 3 ODST equipment
Halo content is coming to PlayStation through a Helldivers 2 crossover launching on August 26, Arrowhead Game Studios has confirmed. The update introduces weapons, armour, and cosmetics inspired by Halo 3: ODST to the cooperative shooter. The collaboration, named the Helldivers 2 x Halo: ODST Legendary Warbond, features a range of equipment recognisable to fans of the Halo series. Players will be able to equip the MA5C Assault Rifle, M90A Shotgun, M6C/SOCOM Pistol, and M7S SMG. Two new armour sets are included, both with the Feet First passive ability, which reduces noise while moving and prevents leg injuries. In addition, two capes based on Halo 3: ODST designs will be available. As with previous Warbonds, the ODST Legendary Warbond costs 1,500 super credits. Unlike limited-time offerings, this crossover content will remain in the in-game store, meaning players can purchase it without time restrictions. Helldivers 2's latest update coincides with the title's release on Xbox Series X on the same date. The timing also overlaps with Gears of War, making its debut on PlayStation 5, signalling a notable period of crossover content and platform sharing within the games industry. On the PlayStation Blog, Arrowhead Game Studios described the release as 'a tribute to a long-requested crossover, packed with details that fans will love to discover.' While this is not Halo's first appearance on PlayStation—Spartan skins have previously been introduced in Fortnite—the Helldivers 2 crossover represents a new stage in the franchise's presence across platforms.
