Hornswoggle Finally Gets Revenge On JBL For Hitting Him With a Trash Can

Yahoo20-05-2025
Hornswoggle finally got his revenge on JBL for hitting him with a trash can after 17 years.
The real-life Dylan Postl recently reunited with the WWE Hall of Famer to recreate their infamous spot (more on that later) from WrestleMania XXIV. A clip from their interaction at ACW Wisconsin shows JBL with a trash can in his hand as he attempted to bash Hornswoggle's skull in.

However, fate seems to be on Hornswoggle's side this time as he not only managed to distract JBL but landed a punch below the belt. Dylan then told JBL to look behind him only for the former Wrestling God to get hit with a trash can straight to the head — courtesy of Hornswoggle's son Landon.
JBL reacts to getting hit with a trash can
JBL declared war on Hornswoggle (and his son) after the 'Wrestling God' got hit with a trash can at an indie wrestling event in Wisconsin.
'OK, this is now war. The Leprechaun's damn son (Finley's grandson) hit ME with a trash can,' the former WWE Champion wrote on X/Twitter.

Does this imply we are getting JBL vs. Hornswoggle outside WWE? Maybe not, but at least Bradshaw is keeping kayfabe alive by putting Finlay's 'offspring' on notice. Fans may recall their brief but memorable feud that led to a Belfast Brawl back in 2008.
Hornswoggle, who was at ringside for the WrestleMania XXIV opening contest, took a trash can shot from the Texan. JBL would win the match following a Clothesline of Hell on Finlay. Fans can watch a short clip from the match here.

Brock Lesnar lawsuit, explained: Why his WWE 'comeback' is controversial

The biggest news that came out of WWE SummerSlam 2025? The return of Brock Lesnar, the wrestling star who also fought in MMA and who has won multiple WWE titles. Lesnar had been last seen in 2023 after a loss to Cody Rhodes. This time? He attacked John Cena. But that surprise appearance brought along some controversy with it, which ignited the moment he set foot into the ring at MetLife Stadium. We're here to explain all that as wrestling fans everywhere are buzzing about what they saw on Sunday night. Let's dive into why Brock Lesnar's comeback dredged up some controversy with it: What is the lawsuit that Brock Lesnar is allegedly involved in? Per USA TODAY Sports: In January 2024, former WWE employee Janel Grant sued [Vince] McMahon, alleging the wrestling company's founder took part in sex trafficking and put her through sexual acts that were done with "extreme cruelty and degradation." Lesnar is mentioned in the lawsuit as someone that McMahon offered sexual encounters to with Grant. Were there any other details about Brock Lesnar in the Vince McMahon lawsuit? Just this, per ESPN, Grant also claimed "McMahon demanded she create 'personalized sexual content' for Lesnar in July 2021, at a time McMahon was attempting to keep Lesnar under contract with the WWE." Is Brock Lesnar being sued? No. This is the federal lawsuit against McMahon and the WWE. But his name appears in there as you can see. What has Brock Lesnar said about the lawsuit and allegations? Nothing officially yet.

Becky Lynch Upset With Seth Rollins' Controversial WWE Decision

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The new World Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins, has revealed the intricate details behind what he is calling the "Ruse of the Century." On Monday, Rollins confirmed that his recent, career-threatening knee injury was a complete fabrication, a three-week deception designed to facilitate his shocking Money in the Bank cash-in at SummerSlam. Rollins appeared on The Rich Eisen Show to gloat about his masterful plan. His appearance came less than 48 hours after he cashed in on CM Punk to win the World Heavyweight Championship at the conclusion of SummerSlam Night One. Seth Rollins Executing The "Ruse of the Century" Rollins explained the elaborate lengths he went to in order to sell the fake injury. He revealed that even his wife, fellow WWE superstar Becky Lynch, was an "unwilling participant" in the scheme. "She was very upset at me for making me lie to all of her friends and family for the better part of three weeks," Rollins said (H/T to Fightful). "I said, 'Honey, just trust me, the payoff will be great.'" He also shared a humorous story about his young daughter, Roux, almost blowing his cover. "First thing she did was go and tell her preschool teacher, Ms. Joy, immediately," he laughed. "Thank you, Roux, thank you, Ms. Joy." He noted that the three weeks of limping around on crutches was "excruciating," but worth it for the "greater good." NEW YORK, NEW YORK - SEPTEMBER 28: Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins attend the 2019 Global Citizen Festival: Power The Movement in Central Park on September 28, 2019 in New York Global Citizen A Masterclass In Deception By Seth Rollins Rollins' plan is a modern example of a "worked shoot" injury, a classic wrestling angle designed to blur the lines between reality and storyline. The ruse began at the Saturday Night's Main Event premium live event on July 12, where he faked the knee injury during a match with LA Knight, leading to an unplanned loss. In the weeks that followed, reports confirmed the "legitimacy" of the injury, and he was even seen on crutches in a video posted by his wife. The entire wrestling world was convinced he would be out for months. This masterful deception is reminiscent of Mark Henry's famous fake retirement speech in 2013, and it has cemented Rollins' reputation as a cunning strategist. More news: WWE Superstar Announces Retirement Match The Heist Part II The shocking cash-in at SummerSlam is also a direct callback to the most iconic moment of Rollins' career. At WrestleMania 31 in 2015, he created the "Heist of the Century" when he cashed in his first Money in the Bank contract during the main event. This "Ruse of the Century" is the perfect spiritual successor, further cementing his legacy as the greatest Money in the Bank holder of all time. The target of the ruse, CM Punk, makes the moment even more significant. The deep, personal animosity between Rollins and Punk is well-documented, and this elaborate, three-week deception was the ultimate way for Rollins to deny his nemesis his fairytale championship moment. Janel Grant's representation calls Brock Lesnar's return to WWE 'attempt to sweep misconduct under the rug'

Brock Lesnar put a punctuation mark on WWE SummerSlam Sunday night with his return to the ring after a two-year absence from the promotion. Lesnar came out to confront John Cena following his defeat to Cody Rhodes and loss of the WWE championship, eventually attacking Cena and using his signature F-5 finishing move on him. Yet while the excitement of a feud with Cena was the takeaway from SummerSlam, Lesnar's return also raises reminders of why he took a two-year hiatus. The seven-time WWE champion was named in a federal lawsuit against former WWE chairman and CEO Vince McMahon. The lawsuit was filed against the company by former WWE employee Janel Grant, alleging that McMahon had sexually assaulted and trafficked her. On Monday afternoon, Grant's represenation issued a statement regarding Lesnar's return to WWE. "For far too long, abuse was allowed to thrive under WWE's leadership," the statement says. "Instead of righting this wrong, WWE has done nothing to ensure those responsible are held accountable." "This attempt to sweep misconduct under the rug will backfire," the statement added. "We look forward to the full set of facts, including those about Mr. Lesnar, coming out in a court of law where they belong but, in the meantime, we refer you back to Janel Grant's updated complaint, which outlines, in detail, the abuse she endured by McMahon and others while employed at WWE." The full lawsuit can be read here, via the Wall Street Journal. One of the claims in the complaint alleges that McMahon shared "sexually explicit photographs and videos of Ms. Grant (including pornographic content he recorded) with other men both inside and outside the company." That included "a world-famous athlete and former UFC Heavyweight Champion with whom WWE was actively trying to sign to a new contract (and ultimately did sign that contract)." Lesnar was not initially named beyond that description in the lawsuit, but that has since been changed to outright name him in the complaint. McMahon denied all allegations in Grant's lawsuit, but resigned as WWE chairman in January 2024. Lesnar hadn't appeared for WWE since then, with the company shelving plans to feature him in that year's Royal Rumble. However, Lesnar was apparently cleared by WWE's lawyers to return as a performer four weeks ago, according to reporter Dave Meltzer (via Cageside Seats). Though Meltzer was not able to provide details, he speculated that being cleared meant that the lawsuit may go to arbitration and Lesnar faced no legal jeopardy. His return to WWE appears to support that notion.
