It marks the first NFL fixture to be offered for free in its entirety on the video streaming site.
The Los Angeles Chargers will take on an opponent to be announced later today when the full 2025 schedule is revealed.
YouTube and YouTube TV have served as the home of NFL Sunday Ticket since the start of the 2023 season for US viewers.
"Last year, people spent over 350 million hours watching official NFL content on YouTube, so it's both fitting and thrilling to continue to build our relationship with our partners at the NFL," said Mary Ellen Coe, chief business officer, YouTube.
"Streaming the Friday night game to fans for free around the world will mark YouTube's first time as a live NFL broadcaster – and we'll do it in a way that only YouTube can, with an interactive viewing experience and creators right at the center of the experience."
As part of a multi-year deal, YouTube will also air the annual celebrity Super Bowl Flag Football game featuring creators and musical artists.
"We are excited to expand our relationship with YouTube to bring this year's Brazil game to a worldwide audience," said Hans Schroeder, NFL's executive vice president of media distribution.
"YouTube and YouTube TV have been incredible partners of the NFL for several years and boast an immense global reach, and we look forward to Week 1 in São Paulo."

Taylor Swift obliterates Trump and Joe Rogan's podcast ratings

The most anticipated sports podcast episode in history ended up giving the world's biggest pop star bragging rights over the President of the United States. Wednesday night saw a special release of the 'New Heights' podcast where co-host and Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce brought on his pop superstar girlfriend, Taylor Swift . Teasers leading up to the episode revealed that Swift would be unveiling the cover and release date for her highly-anticipated 12th album, 'The Life of a Showgirl'. Swifties flocked in droves to listen to the episode live - breaking the record for the most-watched live-streamed podcast in YouTube's history at 1.3 million viewers. It shattered the previous mark - held by 'The Joe Rogan Experience' when the eponymous host brought on then-Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump . Not only that, but the New Heights YouTube channel saw a spike in subscriber numbers. The channel began at 2.85 million subs before the episode began. At the time of publishing, the subscriber count sits at 2.97 million. While it did break the live-viewership record, it still has some ways to go to catch up to the 24-hour viewer count that the Trump episode of Rogan had. In the first 24-hours of that episode, Rogan's channel had 26 million views. At the time of publishing, the YouTube video of the New Heights show has 9.5 million in the first 14 hours (with 6 million views coming in the first five hours). But breaking one record held by Trump is sure to be a feather in Swift's cap after she endorsed Democrat nominee and former Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 election. Trump has gone on the offensive against Swift in the past, calling her 'no longer hot' after the endorsement of Harris and mocking her for being booed at Super Bowl LIX. Not only does this two-hour conversation mark a major moment for the show, it also is a perfect full-circle moment for Travis and Taylor. Travis previously mentioned in July 2023 how he'd like to have Swift on the show and how he tried giving her a friendship bracelet at a concert in Kansas City, but that he wasn't able to meet her. Cut to now. Travis and Taylor have been the definitive storyline in the NFL over the last two years, with the sport seeing a massive spike in female audience in that time. On the episode, Swift mentioned how important that July 2023 episode was to their eventual meeting. 'This kind of felt more like I was in an '80s John Hughes movie,' Swift said. 'He was just like standing outside of my window with a boom box just being like, "I want to date you. Do you want to go on a date with me? I made you a friendship bracelet. Do you want to date me?"' She continued, 'This is sort of what I've been writing songs about wanting to happen to me since I was a teenager.' Kelce added, 'And I was sitting there at the Eras tour listening to every single one of those songs, like, I know what she wants me to do!' He continued, 'I'm the luckiest man in the world,' while Swift said her man is 'a vibe booster in everyone's life that he's in. He's like a human exclamation point.' Swift's album announcement was the biggest draw for the show - with the 'Cruel Summer' singer confirming the October 3 release for 'The Life of a Showgirl'. She added that there will not be any extra songs on the album - which is being produced by Swedish hitmaker Max Martin and his collaborator Shellback. The pair helped make some of Swift's biggest hits - including 'Style', 'Shake It Off' and 'Blank Space' of her multi-Grammy winning 2014 album '1989'. Unlike previous albums, Swift said there would not be any hidden tracks for 'Showgirl'. However, fans are sure to be entertained - with the tracklist released and revealing that fellow pop star Sabrina Carpenter will feature on the title track.

Report: Falcons signing free agent CB C.J. Henderson

August 14 - The Atlanta Falcons are signing free agent cornerback C.J. Henderson pending a medical review, NFL Network reported on Thursday. Henderson, 26, was selected with the ninth overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars. He chose the Falcons over "several suitors," according to the report. He was with the Pittsburgh Steelers last season but did not appear in a game before landing on injured reserve in mid-November with a neck injury. Henderson lasted only 10 games with the Jaguars before being traded to the Carolina Panthers on Sept. 27, 2021. He has tallied three interceptions, 16 passes defensed, two forced fumbles and 172 tackles in 49 games (32 starts) with Jacksonville (2020-21) and Carolina (2021-23). --Field Level Media

Chiefs donate to Missouri Republicans after $1.5b stadium proposal as Kansas pushes NFL team to flee state

Don't count out the Show Me State just yet. With Kansas eagerly trying to lure the NFL's Chiefs and MLB's Royals across state lines, the reigning AFC champions have made $25,000 in donations to republican candidates for the Missouri House amid the team's ongoing efforts to secure renovation funding for Arrowhead Stadium. The donation, first reported by the Missouri Independent, comes shortly after a $1.5 billion stadium funding plan was approved by the state legislature in hopes of convincing the Chiefs and MLB's Royals to remain in Missouri. The Missouri Independent reports the Chiefs spent more than $3 million and the Royals added another $2.5 million last year to support a ballot measure extending sales taxes to fund renovations at Arrowhead Stadium as well as a new ballpark in downtown Kansas City. The donations come at a convenient time for team officials and representatives hoping to avoid the negative publicity that typically comes with publicly funded stadium constructions and renovations. Not only are the Chiefs gearing up for another Super Bowl run - potentially the final chance for 35-year-old Travis Kelce - but the tight end also welcomed girlfriend and Donald Trump nemesis Taylor Swift onto his popular podcast this week, thereby drawing the spotlight away from Arrowhead Stadium's future. Meanwhile, with fans focused on the Chiefs' immediate future, team officials have pressed ahead with varying options for a future home. After decades of playing alongside each other at the Truman Sports Complex, the Chiefs and Royals will each see their respective leases expire in January of 2031. While the Chiefs have supported republican candidates in this effort, the Missouri Independent reports that two GOP state legislators filed lawsuits in July to defeat the measure, which they called 'unconstitutional' because it also addressed matters unrelated to stadiums. Despite Missouri's efforts, neighboring Kansas remains a potential destination for both the Chiefs and Royals. Last month, a committee in the Kansas legislature extended a deadline for both teams to accept state financing for new stadiums. And the teams are hearing competitive offers from both Kansas and Missouri. Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe initially approved legislation to authorize bonds to pay for up to 50 percent of the cost of stadium construction (Royals) and renovation (Chiefs). Kansas responded by offering bonds that could cover 70 percent of those costs should either team choose to switch states, but Missouri has since followed with an additional funding package. 'We've had more meetings, more discussions,' Chiefs president Mark Donovan said in July. 'At this point it's literally - you're taking an agreement this long and whittling it down to this paragraph and this line, and we need an agreement on this, and we're doing this on both sides. You're in that process where you're not sure which way it will go.' Previously, in April of 2024, Jackson County rejected a sales tax proposal that would have helped to renovate Arrowhead Stadium while providing the Royals with a ballpark in downtown Kansas City, Missouri.
