Anupam Kher reveals why he and wife Kirron never had kids, admits, 'I do feel a void'
Anupam Kher
recently opened up about a personal emotion he has rarely spoken about—the quiet ache of not raising a child of his own. In a heartfelt conversation with entrepreneur Raj Shamani, the seasoned performer, known for his role in The Kashmir Files, spoke about why he and his wife, actress and politician
Kirron Kher
, never had children together.
Anupam acknowledged that he had never felt the void of not having a biological child until he reached the age of sixty. Over the years, he has often worked closely with children through his foundation and even hosted a kids' television program titled Say Na Something to Anupam Uncle. Though deeply fond of children, it wasn't until recently that the absence of experiencing a child growing up in his own home truly resonated with him. When someone asked him if he ever felt that emptiness, his answer was honest and simple: yes—but it was something he only came to understand with time.

Explaining why they never had children together, Anupam revealed that early in their marriage, Kirron had difficulties conceiving. When she finally became pregnant, complications arose, and the pregnancy didn't progress as expected.
"Kirron couldn't conceive, and when she did, the pregnancy wasn't developing properly. I was too busy trying to make it big. I was too busy… And Sikander—he's still enough for me..." he said.
At the time, Anupam was deeply focused on building his acting career and admits that he was too preoccupied to think about starting a family. However, when he married Kirron, her son Sikander from her previous marriage was already four years old, and Anupam embraced him fully as his own. For many years, Sikander filled that space in his life, and he never felt a lack of
parental fulfillment
.
Anupam and Kirron's relationship began as a friendship during a difficult period in both their lives. Kirron was facing challenges in her marriage with Gautam Berry, while Anupam had just come out of a breakup. Their bond blossomed into love, and they tied the knot in 1985, embarking on a new journey together.
Currently, Anupam is preparing for the release of
Tanvi The Great
, a film that features actors Shubhangi Dutt, Boman Irani, Jackie Shroff, and Pallavi Joshi and is slated to hit theatres on July 18.

Tech CEO Andy Byron viral clip with colleague: Ex-employee makes big revelations, calls him 'toxic', 'aggressive'; says staff 'enjoyed seeing him exposed'
A married tech CEO who went viral after being caught on the kiss cam with a colleague at a Coldplay concert is being slammed by a former employee as a 'toxic' boss, with ex-staffers reportedly having second-hand embarrassment. Andy Byron is the chief executive of New York-based software firm Astronomer. He was seen in an awkward position with the company's chief human resources officer Kristin Cabot during the band's Boston show at Gillette Stadium. The pair was shown holding hands and wrapped in each other's arms on the big screen before Cabot turned her back to the camera and Byron tried to duck out of view. The viral clip sparked online debate over workplace conduct and also started chatter among Byron's former employees. A former employee who once reported directly to Byron told the New York Post that the incident was met with laughter and a sense of satisfaction among former staff. 'The text groups and chains of former employees are like… everybody's laughing their ass off and enjoying the hell out of what happened and him getting exposed,' the former colleague told The Post. The source added that Byron was seen as a harsh and aggressive manager. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You To Read in 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo 'In the workplace, Byron allegedly has a reputation as an aggressive, sales-obsessed executive who can be 'toxic',' the former employee said. Astronomer has not yet issued a public statement on the incident. Byron and Cabot have also not responded to media requests for comment. Astronomer, known for building cloud platforms to manage and monitor data pipelines, hired Cabot in November 2024. At the time, Byron had publicly praised her, saying, 'Kristin's exceptional leadership and deep expertise in talent management, employee engagement, and scaling people strategies will be critical as we continue our rapid trajectory.' 'She is a proven leader at multiple growth-stage companies and her passion for fostering diverse, collaborative workplaces makes her a perfect fit for Astronomer,' he added in the company's official press release. Cabot had previously worked at data analytics firm Neo4j. She had responded positively to her onboarding experience, saying she was 'energized' by her conversations with Byron and the Astronomer leadership team. Now, the viral concert video has proven damaging not just for the CEO and the HR head, but also for the company's public image. Social media users criticised Astronomer's work culture, with many demanding disciplinary action and suggesting that the leadership was aware of the relationship. Adding to the speculation, another employee from Astronomer who attended the concert with the pair was also seen in the video, appearing shocked and smiling as Cabot covered her face and Byron retreated from the camera's view.

Coldplay, cuddles, and corporate chaos: Astronomer CEO Andy Byron's viral moment unpacked
TL;DR What happened? Coldplay's Kiss Cam caught CEO Andy Byron and CPO Kristin Cabot embracing—in the company of thousands. Why it blew up? Internet culture + memes+ workplace ethics = explosive mix. What's at stake? PR crisis for Astronomer, HR ethics questions, personal relationship drama. Where it stands? No apology. No clarity. Mass speculation. And now? All eyes on the board, internal policies, and who speaks next. Picture this: July 16, 2025, Gillette Stadium in Boston. Coldplay is playing, the crowd's loving it, and midway through the show, they flash to the Kiss Cam—an interactive segment meant to bring some wholesome fun. Only this time, it captured something far from cute. On the big screen: Andy Byron, CEO of the billion-dollar AI/data startup Astronomer, and next to him, Kristin Cabot, the firm's Chief People Officer. They were clearly close—arms wrapped, bodies leaning in—until they spotted themselves illuminated on a stadium-wide screen. Chaos ensued: Andy ducked like he'd been tagged, Kristin buried her face. And frontman Chris Martin couldn't resist cracking a joke from the stage: 'Either they're having an affair or they're just very shy.' That moment instantly turned into the internet's new favorite drama series. From Stadium to Instagram to Twitter Within minutes of that awkward embrace, fans started filming, posting, and theorizing. The clip exploded on TikTok and X, igniting speculation about a possible office affair. Suddenly, it was more than just an embarrassing moment—it became 'Coldplaygate,' capturing imaginations across gossip mills, sports jokes, and HR ethics debates. It wasn't just entertainment anymore—it sparked questions like: 'What's the relationship here?' 'Is this workplace misconduct?' and 'Why did neither of them come forward?' Despite all the buzz, neither Astronomer, nor Byron, nor Cabot have commented publicly. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like This Could Be the Best Time to Trade Gold in 5 Years IC Markets Learn More Undo Astronomer even disabled comments on LinkedIn and X posts, leaving the internet to run wild. This silence only fueled conspiracy threads and workplace rumor mill fodder. Despite rumors of a Byron apology quoting Coldplay lyrics, as per reports Astronomer spokesperson denied it, labeling that circulating letter as "fake". And there's been zero public mea culpa from Cabot—just radio silence. That quiet may seem strategic, or just tone-deaf, depending on who you ask. This isn't just tabloid fodder—it's a real HR ethics flashpoint. Cabot, as Chief People Officer, is essentially in charge of setting tone and policies at Astronomer. And now her cozy moment with the CEO is front and center. As one HR consultant Kate Walker told Business Insider, 'a hard launch of a workplace romantic relationship at a Coldplay concert is not the best way to go about it.' Byron's wife, Megan Kerrigan Byron, deleted her Facebook and dropped 'Byron' from her name—actions people read as a sign of personal fallout. It's unclear if they've separated, but the move added a real-world layer of relationship tension to the story. This all started as a fun arena moment and morphed into a multi-front scandal: sports-team jokes, investor bets, board-led workplace oversights, and very real pressure on personal lives. With no public comments or apologies, the ball's in Astronomer's court: how they react next could make or break trust—with staff, investors, and the wider tech world.
