Former Brookside star, Jennifer Ellison, said she had "never been so terrified" after the shocking Liverpool parade crash on Monday night. Thousands of excited football supporters had lined the streets of the city for the title-winning parade, but jubilation soon turned to panic after reports a car had hit pedestrians.
Merseyside Police confirmed they have arrested a 53-year-old man after a car was driven into Liverpool fans during their Premier League title parade. Hundreds of thousands lined the streets as an open-top bus, carrying the players made it's way through the city. However, their joy was short-lived following the "horrific incident", in which four children are among the 47 injured.
As news of the attack broke, flocks of famous Scousers shared their sadness after the tragic event.
Actress, Jennifer, who was born in Liverpool and shot to fame in the city's famous soap opera, Brookside, told her followers she was thankfully "home safe" but had "never been so terrified".
Revealing that she had been on the road where the attack took place, she took to Instagram with a broken hearted emoji, writing: "Home safe. Never been so terrified. Can't believe we were on the actual road. Praying for all the injured and the families of those. Just traumatic."
Joining her in sending his well wishes, was Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher. Taking to X, he wrote: "Thoughts and prayers with all our brothers and sisters of LIVERPOOL." Former Atomic Kitten star, Natasha Hamilton, has also condemned the attack.
The singer shared a snap of her dad and nephew taken in the city centre prior to the parade. She said: "My dad & nephew were in Liverpool today at the celebration parade. Then I saw a video of what happened and my heart sank. Thankfully they're both safe but I am absolutely horrified at what I saw today and my thoughts & prayers are with all those affected! #YNWA."
Meanwhile, Paddy McGuinness, shared a snap of the Liverpool FC emblem on the side of Anfield Stadium alongside the caption: "Liverpool is a great city full of good people. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Merseyside. #ynwa."
Following the shocking scenes, Liverpool FC confirmed the club was staying in touch with Merseyside Police. And an official statement said those at the club were sending their "thoughts and prayers" for those impacted.

And Scotland, thank you for a magical first night of the BRIT POP tour." Robbie also made sure to thank his fans after he came off stage.
