BRS Party Cadres Rally in Strength from Gadwal and Alampur to Warangal for 25th Anniversary Celebrations
Alampur/Gadwal: The spirit of Telangana pride soared high as the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party celebrated its 25th foundation day with massive enthusiasm. Marking the Silver Jubilee, party activists from Alampur constituency and Gadwal region organized grand rallies and convoys to reach Warangal, where the main celebrations were held.
As part of the festivities, BRS leaders, activists, and supporters from Alampur, led by MLA Sri Vijayudu and MLC Sri Challa Venkata Ramireddy, conveyed heartfelt greetings to the party and its founder. Emphasizing the significance of the party's journey, they highlighted how the BRS flag, born for the self-respect of Telangana people, steered the state towards development and prosperity.
Reflecting the emotional fervor, Kuruvu Pallayya, a BRSV State Leader from Alampur constituency, issued a rallying call:
"The flag born for Telangana's self-respect is celebrating its birthday! The land of Warangal is being painted pink as BRS cadres march with the spirit of the movement. Towns and villages have risen like a tidal wave to converge at Warangal on April 27."
In Gadwal constituency, under the leadership of BRS Party In-Charge Basu Hanumanthu Naidu, a massive celebration was held at the Old Bus Stand near the Municipal Office. Basu Hanumanthu Naidu hoisted the BRS flag and extended greetings to party members and citizens.
Ahead of the Warangal journey, a grand convoy rally was organized from Nobel School on Dharur Road to Krishna Veni Chowk, showcasing the strength and unity of the BRS cadres. As part of the rally, floral tributes were offered at the statues of Mahatma Gandhi, Mahatma Jyotirao Phule, and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, honoring the great leaders who inspired the Telangana movement.
The convoy then set off towards Warangal to participate in the BRS Rajatotsavam (Silver Jubilee Celebrations) to be held at Elkathurthy, Hanamkonda, starting from 4:00 PM.
Organizers issued key travel guidelines to ensure a smooth and safe journey:
Vehicles should maintain a normal speed without overspeeding or overtaking.
Breakfast arrangements were made near Nobel School, and lunch and dinner were organized at Palmakula en route.
Party members were advised to reach the meeting venue on time and contact leaders if any issues arose during the travel.
Gratitude was extended to all leaders and activists participating in the grand celebration.
The entire movement symbolized not just a celebration of BRS's 25-year journey, but also a renewed commitment towards the party's vision for the future of Telangana.

GHMC General Council holds discussions on monsoon prep
Hyderabad: The GHMC General Council meeting on Wednesday held detailed discussions on monsoon preparedness and other basic amenities. The 11th meeting was chaired by GHMC Mayor Gadwal Vijaylakshmi. During this meeting, the members voiced their outrage at the horrific attack on innocent individuals by terrorists in Pahalgam. The council members extended their heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims of this attack and held a two-minute moment of silence to pray for the peace of the souls who have departed. GHMC Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi has called on both authorities and public representatives to collaborate effectively for the city's progress. Prior to the start of the meeting, the Mayor spoke at the council gathering and stated the Chief Minister has guaranteed that there will be ample funding available for infrastructure and welfare development within GHMC, and she expressed his appreciation for the support given to the development of Baldia through the allocation of funds. The pre-monsoon sanitation initiative aims to clean all streets to prevent seasonal diseases. She stressed the program's large-scale implementation for city cleanliness and urged officials to work with local representatives, MLAs, MLCs, and MPs for its success. Zonal review meetings are addressing public concerns, and decisions have been made to resolve issues raised by corporators. The mayor confirmed that corporators will collaborate with officials on sanitation, de-silting, Nala development, and infrastructure improvements in various zones. The aim is to identify new routes for the approximately 744.22 km of roads designated in CRMP-1 and to transfer the management of a total of 1142.54 km of roads to private agencies for the next five years (2025-2030), while seeking approval for a budget of Rs 3825 crore for this initiative. Furthermore, the corporators from various parties claim that they made plans to remove the officials due to alleged irregularities in the tenders for vehicles intended for use in the monsoon relief efforts. In the meeting, BRS corporators raised concerns about the arrest of Baba Fasiuddin, a Congress member from Borabanda, alleging his involvement in a suicide. They raised slogans and held placards demanding Fasiuddin's arrest. Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi intervened and successfully calmed the upset corporators. She mentioned that a First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged and that the case is currently being investigated. 'The law will take its course, and if the BRS corporators have any additional evidence related to this issue, they are urged to present it to the investigating authorities,' she stated. However, BJP corporators expressed their discontent with the council meeting. During the session, BJP corporators resolved to remove the Mayor over issues related to road maintenance, street lighting upkeep, sanitation, birth certificate processing, entomology, and the construction and upkeep of flood water canals. Other issues discussed were the operation of HYDRA, the status of street lighting, the process for issuing birth and death certificates, the rainwater harvesting pits built by GHMC, the restoration of RTC bus stops, the absence of essential infrastructure in cemeteries, and the painting and beautification projects carried out on flyovers throughout the city. The meeting was attended by MPs Eatala Rajender, Raghunandan Rao, MLCs Vijayashanti, Balmuri Venkat, Mirza Riaz ul Hassan Effendi, Mirza Rahmat Baig, Addanki Dayakar, MLAs Zulfiqar Ali, Majid Hussain, Kausar Moinuddin, Rajasekhar Reddy, Bandari Laxma Reddy, Commissioner R.V. Karnan, Additional Commissioners Sneha Shabarish, Venugopal, Venugopal Reddy, Pankaja, Subhadra,and others were present.

Current house layouts not suitable for the poor: MLA K Rajgopal Reddy
Choutuppal (Yadadri-Bhongir): Criticising the house layout plan under the current Indiramma housing scheme, MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy said it was not suitable for poor families and needed to be revised. In a significant step towards housing for the underprivileged, he participated in the distribution of sanctioned Indiramma housing documents to beneficiaries in Damerakunta village, located in Choutuppal Mandal. The event also saw the participation of MLC Nellikanti Satyam and District Collector Hanumantha Rao. The MLA also addressed rising construction material costs, blaming middlemen for hiking the prices of cement and iron. He promised to negotiate with company owners in the undivided Nalgonda district to ensure subsidized rates for Indiramma housing beneficiaries. Reassuring his constituents, Reddy said, 'You gave me a huge majority from Munugode, and I will repay your faith by ensuring every one of you gets a proper home. No other government in the country has taken up housing on such a massive scale.' Rajgopal Reddy expressed his happiness over the distribution of housing documents to many poor families under the 18-month-old Congress-led public welfare administration. He criticised the previous BRS government, stating that not a single house was constructed under its rule for the past ten years, whereas the current government is working towards the construction of 10,000 houses in the constituency. 'No poor person should lose hope,' he said. 'It is my personal responsibility to ensure every underprivileged family receives a house.' Reddy alleged that schemes like Dalit Bandhu and Double Bedroom Houses under the previous regime were distributed only to party loyalists. He also warned that if any ineligible or influential persons receive government benefits, they will be cancelled and redirected to the truly deserving poor. Highlighting issues with the current scheme, Reddy pointed out that the Rs 5 lakh financial assistance being provided by the government is insufficient to complete the Indiramma houses. He urged district collectors to take this concern to the attention of the state government.

Kavitha stages protest against notice to KCR in Kaleshwaram issue
Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) member of the legislative council (MLC) Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Wednesday called the notice summons issued to her father and party president K Chandrasekhar Rao in connection with Kaleshwaram irrigation project as 'politically motivated' Addressing a protest organised in Hyderabad by Telangana Jagruti against the commission's notice to KCR, Kavitha accused the Congress government of seeking to 'erase' KCR's legacy as farmers love him for his pro-farmer initiatives. 'Totally, 40 lakh (4 million) acres will get water once the Kaleshwaram project is completed. All that is kept aside. The conspiracy is to tarnish the image of KCR,' she said. Justice PC Ghose commission has issued summon for questioning in connection with alleged irregularities in the construction of the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP) on Godavari river. During the protest at Hyderabad's Indira Park, no BRS leaders were part of the protest event and party flags were conspicuously absent. The party has been avoiding Kavitha's programmes ever since she took up the 'Samajika Telangana' (Telangana for social justice) cause on May 1. On May 2, she wrote a letter to her father raising several critical issues, such as allegations of a proposed merger with the Bharatiya Janata party and asserted that she would resist any such move. 'Wednesday's dharna opposing summons to KCR on the Kaleshwaram project issue is obviously an attempt to create a narrative that she is the true political heir of her father and expose the other party leaders, including her brother KT Rama Rao, who did not take up any protests even if the state government is targeting KCR,' said political analyst Syed Zakir. Meanwhile, Kavitha said that the Congress government had constituted the judicial commission headed by Justice Ghose only to politically target KCR. 'It is not the Kaleshwaram Commission, but a Congress Commission as the inquiry is not about accountability, but about political defamation,' she said. The Telangana Jagruthi president said issuing notices to KCR, who was instrumental in achieving Telangana's statehood, amounted to issuing notices to the entire population of the state. Kavitha claimed that the KLIP was a transformative effort that brought water to millions of acres across the state. 'The project is not confined to just three barrages, but comprises 21 pump houses, 15 reservoirs, 200 km of tunnels, and 1,500 km of canal network,' she asserted. The Telangana Congress refuted the allegations levelled by Kavitha on the Kaleshwaram commission issuing summons to KCR for questioning. 'The BRS leader is resorting to high drama only for her political survival,' senior Congress leader and state BC welfare minister Ponnam Prabhakar said. He said that the Ghosh commission has the authority to summon anyone for inquiry. 'It's up to the commission to decide whom to summon. We are not opposing the construction of projects for providing water for irrigation. But the BRS leaders looted Telangana's wealth in the name of Kaleshwaram project,' he alleged.
