Tyler, the Creator releases new album, ‘Don't Tap the Glass'
The Los Angeles rapper early Monday released 'Don't Tap the Glass,' his second LP to drop in less than nine months.
The new 10-track project closely follows 'Chromakopia,' which came out in October, just before Tyler's annual Camp Flog Gnaw festival at Dodger Stadium, where he performed songs from the album including 'Noid' and 'Sticky' and welcomed cameos by Sexyy Red, Doechii and ScHoolboy Q. In February, Tyler set out on a world tour behind 'Chromakopia' that touched down for a six-night stay at Crypto.com Arena and stopped last week in New York for shows at Madison Square Garden and the Barclays Center.
According to album credits on Apple Music, 'Don't Tap the Glass' — which features no officially billed guest appearances — was produced by Tyler himself; the album has a funky, club-geared sound full of old-school stylistic touches.
In a post on X, Tyler said the LP grew out of a conversation he had with friends about why they don't dance in public. His friends, he said, blamed 'the fear of being filmed.' He added: 'I thought damn, a natural form of expression and a certain connection they have with music is now a ghost. It made me wonder how much of our human spirit got killed because of the fear of being a meme.'
'This album was not made for sitting still,' Tyler wrote. 'Dancing driving running any type of movement is recommended to maybe understand the spirit of it.'

GloRilla delivers concert to remember in Memphis: 3 of our favorite Glo Bash moments
Memphis' own GloRilla turned out the stage at her inaugural Glo Bash at FedExForum on July 25. With a star-studded lineup of special guests, Big Glo made her concert one to remember. From the elaborate production to a broad setlist any fan could enjoy, the performance was executed at the highest level. During the 2-hour set, there were multiple moments that ignited the crowd. GloRilla brings out Big Boogie Our first favorite moment of the night came when GloRilla brought out fellow Memphis rapper Big Boogie to perform their song "BOP." Both artists are signed to Yo Gotti's CMG label. As soon as the beat dropped, the crowd was immediately tuned in. Everyone rapped along to the lyrics until GloRilla's verse came, which sparked an uproar. From the floor to the nosebleeds, fans started doing the popular TikTok dance to the song. Big Boogie also shared a cute moment dancing with his daughter on stage. Big Glo and Sexyy Red link up onstage If the crowd wasn't already hyped enough, GloRilla upped it a notch when she brought out Sexyy Red to perform their song "WHATCU KNO ABOUT ME." There was an instant energy shift in the building, and everyone was on their feet. This was Sexyy Red's first time performing in Memphis, and she didn't disappoint. Whether they shared the stage or Sexyy Red performed solo, she held her own throughout her set. Glo performing 'Sticky' Upon the sound of whistles, everyone in the crowd knew what song was coming next. Although we did not get a Tyler, The Creator cameo, GloRilla represented the pair with the performance of their song "Sticky." Her verse along with the choreography made this one of the most memorable parts of the concert.
