Boy, 11, dies after being hit by car while riding bike in Cheshire

An 11-year-old boy has died after he was struck by a car while riding his bike in Cheshire.The child was hit by a black Ford Fiesta on Booth Lane in Middlewich, close to the junction with Tetton Lane, at about 14:15 BST, Cheshire Police said. The force said the driver and passengers in the car were arrested but did not disclose the precise number of people or the offences they were held on suspicion of.Sgt Simon Degg appealed for witnesses or anyone with relevant video footage to come forward.
The boy died at the scene and his family were being supported, the force added.Sgt Degg said: "Our thoughts remain with his family and friends at this difficult time."We would like to appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident and hasn't already spoken to police to get in touch with us."

About £250,000 in luxury handbags has been stolen from a store by thieves who gained access through a hole they created from the property next Police said the three suspects appeared to have access the shop via the chimney at St James House in New Road, Prestbury, Cheshire, at about 23:40 BST on are thought to have entered a disused building adjacent to the shop an hour before, and created a hole in the adjoining wall which led to the next door store through the chimney. The force said the offenders stole a number of high-value designer handbags, with a total estimated cost of around £260, Con Clare Slattery said: "Our enquiries are ongoing, and we would urge anyone who witnessed this incident or saw anything suspicious to get in touch with us."The same goes for anyone with dashcam footage or CCTV which might aid our investigation."
