Lucky scratch: Mass. woman wins $2 million on lottery ticket

A Massachusetts woman is enjoying a very lucky win.
Michelle Sivard of Chester is the winner of a $2 million grand prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery's '$2,000,000 50X Cashword' instant ticket game.
She chose the cash option on her prize and received a one-time payment of $1.3 million, before taxes, lottery officials said Friday.
Sivard plans on putting the winnings towards her home and upgrading her car, officials said.
She purchased her winning ticket at Cumberland Farms, 134 King St. in Northampton.
The store will receive a $20,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.

Wayne Jackman won this prize by adding the Bonus multiplier to his wager for an additional dollar per game. When the 3x Bonus multiplier was drawn for the game on June 2, all nine of the numbers Jackman played on his ticket were selected, turning a $40,000 prize into $120,000. Massachusetts player wins $1 million on instant ticket sold in Springfield Jackman claimed his winnings last Tuesday, June 3, at the Massachusetts State Lottery headquarters in Dorchester. He said he plans to share his prize with his wife and children. Tommy Doyle's Pub & Grill, located at 956 Washington Street in South Easton, will receive a $1,200 bonus for selling Jackman the prize ticket. This marks the second $120,000 Keno prize won within the last month, with the first won in Nantucket during a May 24 drawing. Photo courtesy of the Massachusetts State Lottery June 6 (UPI) -- A Georgia woman who received a Massachusetts State Lottery scratch-off ticket as a gift from her father ended up winning $2 million. Vanesa Menijvar Acosta, of Norcross, Ga., told lottery officials she received the ticket as a gift from her father, who bought it from the East Boston Corner Market on London Street in East Boston. The ticket, a $25,000,000 Mega Money game, turned out to be a $2 million winner. Menijvar Acosta said her winnings will go toward buying a house and paying for college.
