Father's Day is a great excuse to get the family together for a meal, but nothing ruins the vibe of a Sunday dinner like having to do loads of washing up. Going out for a roast dinner can be expensive, but we've found a deal that makes it more affordable.
Using a Wowcher deal, families can enjoy a Toby Carvery meal for less. The deal means a two course meal at the much-loved chain works out at around £8 a head.
Wowcher has a few Toby Carvery deal options on its site, including a two-course meal for two adults and two children for £32.99 - that works out at £8.25 each. For two adults and a child, it's £27.99, while two adults can go kid-free for £22.99.
The carvery includes a two course meal - that can be a lunch or dinner - with a starter and main, or main and dessert. On the menu, there are a variety of dishes to choose from, including Toby's famous carvery, cheesy mushrooms and honeycomb dream sundae. Regardless of where families are based, there are over 150 Toby Carvery locations nationwide to choose from, and the deal is valid until September 15, 2025. It's worth noting that there may be an admin fee charge from Wowcher and customers are encouraged to read the T&Cs.
For those not after Toby Carvery, Sunday Roast from Beefeater is £15.29, it has 30-day-aged sirloin, roast gammon, turkey breast or their vegetarian roast. There are also unlimited portions of crispy roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings and gravy available for those who go for dinner.
Alternatively, families could tuck into a big fry-up at breakfast for £10.99 - plus two kids eat free with every adult meal at breakfast. The Harvester also has a three-course set menu for £25.99 on June 14 and 15, which is a great way to treat dads who have a healthy appetite.
Toby Carvery has been rated highly on Tripadvisor with a 3.6 out of 5 star rating from a total of 475 reviews online. One person said: 'I visited with my daughter before she headed back to Cambridge. We both had the vegetarian version. Plenty of choices available.'
Another said: 'This is one of many visits we have made to the Toby Carvery through Wowcher, it offers excellent value for money, nice quality dining and we look forward to our next trip soon."
Wowcher customers have awarded the site a 4.3 star rating on Trustpilot. One said: "Great choice of offers." While another added: "Easy to order, always a great range of options to choose from. Great deals, easy to transfer credit for other purchases."
Those who have not had as good an experience on Wowcher have highlighted some confusion about how to redeem vouchers. One said: "Need to make it easier to read. More information on how to redeem the voucher."

Yorkshire, farmers and now ghost-hunting: Could this show be any more Channel 5?
The Yorkshire Vet: at Home with the Greens could only be more Channel 5 if Jane McDonald turned up at the end to belt out a tune. The broadcaster loves Yorkshire in general, Yorkshire farming shows in particular, and always refuses to take itself too seriously. So how about a Yorkshire farming show in which a bunch of paranormal investigators try to contact a ghost in the cow shed? The stars of this programme – a spin-off from The Yorkshire Vet, which is now in its 21st series – are Jean and Steve Green. Steve is 96 and Jean is 73. He is quite possibly the oldest working farmer in the country; she, rather incongruously, wears a bright pink hoodie with googly eyes on it. They're great characters, and I bet the producers couldn't believe their luck when they stumbled across them. The Greens were clients of Alf Wight, better known as James Herriot, and still tend animals on their farm just outside Thirsk, including calves named Toffee and Apple. Where Jean used to stand at the gate and look onto pure countryside, her fields are now bordered by row upon row of newbuild houses. 'All they do nowadays is build, build, build. There'll be no green acres left,' she laments. In many ways, she and Steve live the same life they did 50 years ago, with few modern comforts. Not in all ways, though. Jean has a mobile phone on which she thinks she has captured pictures of ghostly goings-on. Jean and Steve also believe spirits are visiting the farm and leaving behind a smell of fish and chips. They report this in an utterly matter-of-fact way, which makes it all the more enjoyable. Cue a visit from West Yorkshire Paranormal, ghostbusters whose equipment looks as if it was bought from a toy shop but who keep straight faces throughout. The voice-over informs us that Jean called them in, and only a cynic would suggest this was really the brainchild of a production team keen to fill the episode with something daft. The greatest weakness of the series is how contrived it can feel. A fly-on-the-wall documentary showing the reality of their lives would have been just grand. The vet, Peter Wright (trained by Herriot himself), is clearly very fond of the couple, seeing them often and giving them fish and chip shop vouchers for their wedding anniversary. We see a lot of him and of another vet, Matt Smith, whose jobs this week include castrating a sugar glider. I'm pretty sure you won't have seen that particular operation on TV before. 'The angriest little animal known to man,' said Smith, although it's unclear whether that goes for sugar gliders en masse or just this one. One of the joys of the internet is that you can look up programmes from decades ago when they pop back into your head. At Home with the Greens brought to mind Hannah Hauxwell and I sought out Too Long a Winter, the Yorkshire TV documentary which first brought her to national attention. It's all there on YouTube, beautifully-shot and gimmick-free.

Emmerdale and Coronation Street facing major changes to cut costs, ex-soap boss warns

Peter Fincham, the channel's Director of Television before current boss Kevin Lygo, has revealed he believes that the soap could soon be moving to Manchester. 10 10 He's predicted that the recent devastating cuts to daytime television, and the loss of hundreds of jobs, would lead to executives looking at similar measures with their two biggest soaps, which are made in locations just 50 miles apart. Talking on The TV Podcast, Peter said: 'You've got Coronation Street being made in Manchester, Emmerdale in Leeds. 'Big savings' 'Could you imagine, rather like the daytime consolidation, that ITV will decide to have them both made in the same place under one umbrella? Big savings. 'You still keep Emmerdale set in Yorkshire, but it could be made in Manchester and Salford, which is a bigger hub for ITV. I don't think that's inconceivable — it might be being planned as we speak.' Merging the two shows in any way once seemed unthinkable, but recently ITV announced that it would air an episode next year where the soaps would have a joint storyline. The news came around the same time ITV announced a merger of production between Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women, with the expected loss of more than 200 jobs behind the scenes. Currently, Emmerdale is made just north of Leeds while Coronation Street is largely filmed at MediaCity in Salford, having previously been at the Granada Studios in Manchester for decades. Peter continued: 'The new hub for Coronation Street in Salford, it cost many, many millions of pounds and it was better facilities for all the people who worked on it in the old place in the middle of Manchester.' A spokesperson for ITV hit back at Peter's suggestion of a soap filming merge: 'ITV has no plans to merge the productions of Coronation Street and Emmerdale. 'Both are uniquely set in Manchester and Leeds, and that production model will continue for the long term. It's pure speculation to say otherwise.' ELLA RAE WISE was all smiles as she stepped out to film for The Only Way Is Essex in Portugal.
