Treat Dad to a Sunday Roast feast for less this Father's Day
Father's Day is a great excuse to get the family together for a meal, but nothing ruins the vibe of a Sunday dinner like having to do loads of washing up. Going out for a roast dinner can be expensive, but we've found a deal that makes it more affordable.
Using a Wowcher deal, families can enjoy a Toby Carvery meal for less. The deal means a two course meal at the much-loved chain works out at around £8 a head.
Wowcher has a few Toby Carvery deal options on its site, including a two-course meal for two adults and two children for £32.99 - that works out at £8.25 each. For two adults and a child, it's £27.99, while two adults can go kid-free for £22.99.
The carvery includes a two course meal - that can be a lunch or dinner - with a starter and main, or main and dessert. On the menu, there are a variety of dishes to choose from, including Toby's famous carvery, cheesy mushrooms and honeycomb dream sundae. Regardless of where families are based, there are over 150 Toby Carvery locations nationwide to choose from, and the deal is valid until September 15, 2025. It's worth noting that there may be an admin fee charge from Wowcher and customers are encouraged to read the T&Cs.
For those not after Toby Carvery, Sunday Roast from Beefeater is £15.29, it has 30-day-aged sirloin, roast gammon, turkey breast or their vegetarian roast. There are also unlimited portions of crispy roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings and gravy available for those who go for dinner.
Alternatively, families could tuck into a big fry-up at breakfast for £10.99 - plus two kids eat free with every adult meal at breakfast. The Harvester also has a three-course set menu for £25.99 on June 14 and 15, which is a great way to treat dads who have a healthy appetite.
Toby Carvery has been rated highly on Tripadvisor with a 3.6 out of 5 star rating from a total of 475 reviews online. One person said: 'I visited with my daughter before she headed back to Cambridge. We both had the vegetarian version. Plenty of choices available.'
Another said: 'This is one of many visits we have made to the Toby Carvery through Wowcher, it offers excellent value for money, nice quality dining and we look forward to our next trip soon."
Wowcher customers have awarded the site a 4.3 star rating on Trustpilot. One said: "Great choice of offers." While another added: "Easy to order, always a great range of options to choose from. Great deals, easy to transfer credit for other purchases."
Those who have not had as good an experience on Wowcher have highlighted some confusion about how to redeem vouchers. One said: "Need to make it easier to read. More information on how to redeem the voucher."
However, a happier customer added: "Always easy to buy Wowcher and redeem them. Love the Toby's Carvery."

Yorkshire, farmers and now ghost-hunting: Could this show be any more Channel 5?

The Yorkshire Vet: at Home with the Greens could only be more Channel 5 if Jane McDonald turned up at the end to belt out a tune. The broadcaster loves Yorkshire in general, Yorkshire farming shows in particular, and always refuses to take itself too seriously. So how about a Yorkshire farming show in which a bunch of paranormal investigators try to contact a ghost in the cow shed? The stars of this programme – a spin-off from The Yorkshire Vet, which is now in its 21st series – are Jean and Steve Green. Steve is 96 and Jean is 73. He is quite possibly the oldest working farmer in the country; she, rather incongruously, wears a bright pink hoodie with googly eyes on it. They're great characters, and I bet the producers couldn't believe their luck when they stumbled across them. The Greens were clients of Alf Wight, better known as James Herriot, and still tend animals on their farm just outside Thirsk, including calves named Toffee and Apple. Where Jean used to stand at the gate and look onto pure countryside, her fields are now bordered by row upon row of newbuild houses. 'All they do nowadays is build, build, build. There'll be no green acres left,' she laments. In many ways, she and Steve live the same life they did 50 years ago, with few modern comforts. Not in all ways, though. Jean has a mobile phone on which she thinks she has captured pictures of ghostly goings-on. Jean and Steve also believe spirits are visiting the farm and leaving behind a smell of fish and chips. They report this in an utterly matter-of-fact way, which makes it all the more enjoyable. Cue a visit from West Yorkshire Paranormal, ghostbusters whose equipment looks as if it was bought from a toy shop but who keep straight faces throughout. The voice-over informs us that Jean called them in, and only a cynic would suggest this was really the brainchild of a production team keen to fill the episode with something daft. The greatest weakness of the series is how contrived it can feel. A fly-on-the-wall documentary showing the reality of their lives would have been just grand. The vet, Peter Wright (trained by Herriot himself), is clearly very fond of the couple, seeing them often and giving them fish and chip shop vouchers for their wedding anniversary. We see a lot of him and of another vet, Matt Smith, whose jobs this week include castrating a sugar glider. I'm pretty sure you won't have seen that particular operation on TV before. 'The angriest little animal known to man,' said Smith, although it's unclear whether that goes for sugar gliders en masse or just this one. One of the joys of the internet is that you can look up programmes from decades ago when they pop back into your head. At Home with the Greens brought to mind Hannah Hauxwell and I sought out Too Long a Winter, the Yorkshire TV documentary which first brought her to national attention. It's all there on YouTube, beautifully-shot and gimmick-free.

Four Father's Day 2025 unique and thoughtful gifts which will arrive on time for Sunday

Father's Day 2025 is coming this weekend and for those who are yet to buy anything for the big day, we have got you covered with this gift guide that is sure to please all of the father's out there - and they are still available to arrive before Sunday! Father's Day is just around the corner and there are sure to be a few last minute shoppers out there who have either forgotten about the date or left it last minute and are now scrambling for ideas. The big day falls on Sunday June 15th this year and while a crate of beers or a box of his favourite chocolates are sure to make the majority of men smile, you may be looking to go the extra mile this year. To help those who are looking for something a little more personal for the special father or grandfather figure in their life this year, I have compiled a short gift guide that covers a range of items that are sure to please every man - from foodies and alcohol enthusiasts to health and wellness and experience day lovers. After all, the day only comes around once a year so why not branch out a little this year and think outside of the box a little. Here's some inspiration for those searching for a unique gift this Father's Day which are all still available to snatch up before Sunday.. Foodie dad As the old saying goes, the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. So food could be a perfect present for all the foodie dads out there but not just any old food - a fancy box of Spanish tapas ingredients. Box Tapas creates a gorgeous collection of Spanish ingredients, allowing you to create authentic and delicious tapas with new flavours and products that have never before been available in the uk. Shoppers can choose from a range of five Tapas Boxes, including Classic, Vegetarian, Seafood, Chorizo or Gourmet, with prices starting from £54.59. Each box contains a carefully curated set of quality ingredients (10-14 per box) which can be used to produce a range of tapas dishes. Buyers can expect authentic, high quality tapas fundamentals such as Whole Gordal Olives or Valencian Almonds with Fine Herbs. Other items are traditional Spanish sauces which require a few other basic ingredients like rustic bread or potatoes to make a dish such as the spicy Salsa Brava, nutty and creamy Romesco, garlic-rich Alioli or the Iberico Pate with Paprika. When deciding on a box, shoppers can see the full list of ingredients within each one and a whole list of recipes for each one to inspire those creating the tapas. Box Tapas would make a very thoughtful Father's Day present for those looking to spoil a food lover. It will also make a very impressive 'picky bits' feast which dads can share with their family and friends or impress dinner party guests with. You can buy a box from Box Tapas directly from their website or purchase it from Amazon with next day delivery available here. Boozy dad Another popular gift for men is alcohol. For the dads out there who drink spirits and enjoy finding new brands or small businesses that sell their own alcohol, then this could be the perfect gift this Father's Day. Wiltshire-based distillery Witchmark offers a range of world-class specially created batches of vodka and gin and whiskey. Witchmark creates its own neutral grain spirit and its single malt whiskey from barley grown on the estate where the distillery stands, ensuring complete quality control from grain to glass. The distillery recently announced its B Corp classification, making it now the highest-scoring distillery in England with the World Drinks Awards recognising Witchmark's Vodka with Gold Award and their BLack Lime Gin with a Silver Award. The Witchmark Single Origin English Vodka which comes in a 70cl bottle is described as 'smooth, clean and crisp' with a rich and creamy flavour. Produced in small batches and with only 1,250 bottles available at the price point of £43, this is likely to be a great present for any spirit loving dad. Meanwhile, their Black Lime Gin has been described as 'bright, vibrant and zesty' is also available in a 70cl bottle and is priced at £43. The website's description reads: "Black Lime gin is a bold spirit, capturing exotic spices and citrus complexity. Juniper and coriander form its base, elevated by smoky black lime and numbing Szechuan pepper. Clove and orris root add warmth, while elderberry and yuzu provide a fruity, zesty finish." The entire spirit collection can be bought directly from their website or directly from Amazon with speedier delivery here. Wellness dad While there are so many thoughtful gifts that can be bought for Father's Day, what could be better than the gift of good sleep? Silent Night are offering some last minute Father's Day gifts from their anti-snore range - an ideal dad-friendly sleep gift which has been proven to reduce snoring frequency and volume by approximately 50%. The Silent Night Luxury Anti-Snore pillow, priced at £19.99 on Amazon, features an ergonomically shaped foam core to help support the head and reduce snoring, additionally featuring a soft-touch quilted cover for added luxury. The range has even been tested by the British Snoring & Sleep Apnoea Association who confirmed the pillow successfully reduced snoring frequency and volume by around 50%. Shoppers have also left glowing five star reviews with one stating: "Really great pillow, super comfortable and durable and definitely helped to reduce my snoring by a fair bit. Exactly as described, super happy with my purchase." The pillow is perfect for the father figures who find their sleep being impacted by snoring and can be bought online here from Amazon. Experience dad We have all heard the classic line - "I don't need anything" - before when asking a man what they would like to be gifted for a special occasion. And while most of the time, they are just being polite and urging their loved one to save their pennies, perhaps not giving a physical gift is the way to go this Father's Day. Instead, why not consider an experience present which is a great way to spend some quality time together which is one of the most important gifts of all. Flight Club is a popular social darts bar experience based in Glasgow City Centre on George Street which offers various fun and fast paced multiplayer games designed to bring people together and create a fun and memorable time. Groups or pairs are given their only private booth area with a touch screen computer so they can select which darts games they'd like to play. Players can also order food and drinks from Flight Club's extensive food and drinks menu off the screen which is delivered straight to their seat from a waiter. Social darts can be booked here for either 60 or 90 minute time slots with prices starting from £22 for two people. For those who are looking for a memorable and unique day out this Father's Day - this may just be the place.

Emmerdale and Coronation Street facing major changes to cut costs, ex-soap boss warns

Rod McPhee, TV Editor Published: Invalid Date, EMMERDALE could soon be filmed outside Yorkshire for the first time as part of a production merger with Coronation Street, according the one the ITV1 soap's former bosses. Peter Fincham, the channel's Director of Television before current boss Kevin Lygo, has revealed he believes that the soap could soon be moving to Manchester. 10 10 He's predicted that the recent devastating cuts to daytime television, and the loss of hundreds of jobs, would lead to executives looking at similar measures with their two biggest soaps, which are made in locations just 50 miles apart. Talking on The TV Podcast, Peter said: 'You've got Coronation Street being made in Manchester, Emmerdale in Leeds. 'Big savings' 'Could you imagine, rather like the daytime consolidation, that ITV will decide to have them both made in the same place under one umbrella? Big savings. 'You still keep Emmerdale set in Yorkshire, but it could be made in Manchester and Salford, which is a bigger hub for ITV. I don't think that's inconceivable — it might be being planned as we speak.' Merging the two shows in any way once seemed unthinkable, but recently ITV announced that it would air an episode next year where the soaps would have a joint storyline. The news came around the same time ITV announced a merger of production between Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women, with the expected loss of more than 200 jobs behind the scenes. Currently, Emmerdale is made just north of Leeds while Coronation Street is largely filmed at MediaCity in Salford, having previously been at the Granada Studios in Manchester for decades. Peter continued: 'The new hub for Coronation Street in Salford, it cost many, many millions of pounds and it was better facilities for all the people who worked on it in the old place in the middle of Manchester.' A spokesperson for ITV hit back at Peter's suggestion of a soap filming merge: 'ITV has no plans to merge the productions of Coronation Street and Emmerdale. 'Both are uniquely set in Manchester and Leeds, and that production model will continue for the long term. It's pure speculation to say otherwise.' ELLA RAE WISE was all smiles as she stepped out to film for The Only Way Is Essex in Portugal. The reality star is set to come face to face with ex-boyfriend Dan Edgar in the upcoming series, which marks the reality show's 15th anniversary with a trip abroad. 10 10 10 While the last series saw Ella and Dan become 'official' ahead of her stint on Celebrity Big Brother, it was revealed in April the two had split 'amicably'. But that will be put to the test as the cast were seen gathering poolside in the Algarve. Joining Ella were Roman Hackett and Sammy Root who enjoyed a ball game, as Chloe Meadows sipped on a drink. Sophie Kasaei looked cosy with boyfriend Jordan Brook while Junaid Ahmed stepped out hand in hand with boyfriend Joe Blackman. Others including Elma Pazar, Harry Derbridge, Amber Turner, Dani Imbert and Amy Childs are also on the trip. SHERI'S DRAMA A SAFE BET MICHAEL SOCHA and Sheridan Smith play two casino workers on the run from a local gangster, and the police, in upcoming drama The Cage. A first look at the new series, which will air on BBC One and iPlayer, sees the duo as the show's Matty and Leanne, dressed for their job at a gambling mecca in Liverpool. After discovering that they have both been robbing from the business, the pair are on a terrifying collision course. For the five-parter, the actors will be joined by House Of The Dragon's Barry Sloane, Dope Girls' Geraldine James, Extraordinary's Shaun Mason and The Power Of Parker star Louis Emerick in the high-stakes, high-energy series. DEATH Valley is set to return for a second series. The BBC murder mystery comedy drama, which stars Timothy Spall and Gwyneth Keyworth as unlikely crime-solving partners, is set to begin filming again this autumn in Wales. The first series is currently airing on BBC One on Sunday evenings. RICHARD: MY PAST SO RACY BEING a man of the cloth doesn't mean that Reverend Richard Coles has forgotten all about his rock 'n' roll past in the Eighties. If anything, the I'm A Celebrity star is still haunted by the bad decisions from his youth as a member of band The Communards. 10 Richard told Rylan on his How To Be In Love podcast: 'After the band reached its highest point, and we were taking a break, that was when sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll came together for me, and I went to Ibiza. 'There was one summer I went with a bunch of people, and we l took ecstasy, and acid, everything really, and got barred from Avis car rental for life because we got through a lot of vehicles. 'Then I bought a speed boat, and I don't know where it is, but I did buy a speed boat.' RACE TO FINALE HOTS UP THE contestants have now been whittled down to four pairs for the the tense finale of Race Across The World tonight. Now Melvyn and Brian, Caroline and Tom, Elizabeth and Letitia and Fin and Sioned will battle it out to win the BBC One contest. But just because things are hotting up, and requiring more physical energy than ever, it doesn't mean the show's oldest ever contestants, brothers Melvyn and Brian, are going to struggle. Melvyn joked: 'I'm 66 but that doesn't mean I can't do a parachute jump or a bungee jump! 'The wife wouldn't be happy, but that doesn't mean I can't do it – don't think you're too old to do stuff. I'm proud of what we have done.' Brian added: 'We knew going into the race it would be tough and we would probably be out of our comfort zone. 'But, it's no surprise to me, I always knew that we could do it.'
