Rustomjee Group Deepens Its Sustainability Commitment with Landmark Plantation Drive at Kasara
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], August 6: As part of its continued commitment to environmental stewardship and inclusive community engagement, Rustomjee Group, a leading Mumbai-based real estate developer, successfully completed Phase Two of its flagship sustainability initiative 'Go Green Kasara 25', with the plantation of over 10,000 native saplings in the ecologically significant region of Kasara. This effort forms a vital step in Rustomjee's long-term vision to plant over 50,000 trees, driving large-scale biodiversity restoration and encouraging grassroots participation across the landscape.
The plantation drive will be graced by Prof. (Dr.) Arun D. Sawant, Director of WTERT-India and President of SOCLEEN and FOT, as the Chief Guest. A distinguished academician and environmental scientist, Dr. Sawant has held leadership roles including Vice Chancellor of the University of Rajasthan and Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University of Mumbai.
Held at Rustomjee Belle Vue, Kasara, on 3rd August 2025 the plantation drive witnessed enthusiastic participation from 250+ volunteers, including Rustomjee employees, customers, NGOs, local citizens, and eco-conscious partners. The event was a powerful collaboration with CREDAI, Freedom Foundation and Natural Solution, bringing together scientific know-how, grassroots mobilization, and corporate responsibility.

Police book ex-minister's son, daughter for ‘fraud' in Odisha
KENDRAPARA: Kendrapara Town police on Sunday filed a case against BJD leader Ankit Pratap Jena and his sister Aishwarya Pratap Jena on charges of defrauding Cuttack-based SSB Electricals firm of Rs 48 lakh. Son of former minister and senior BJD leader Pratap Jena, Ankit had unsuccessfully contested from Mahanga Assembly seat under Kendrapara Lok Sabha constituency in the 2024 elections. Aishwarya is reported to be the managing director and Ankit the ex-managing director of Emphoria Works private limited, which had given work orders to SSB Electricals. Police said managing directors of SSB Electricals Aravind Tripathy and Ganesh Swain filed a complaint against Aishwarya and Ankit on Saturday alleging that they received work orders from Emphoria Works private limited for supplying electrical equipment and executing related works in Kendrapara town. SSB Electricals completed the 33 KV and 11 KV underground cable work in Kendrapara town. However, despite repeated reminders, the brother-sister duo's company refused to pay its due Rs 48 lakh, alleged the complainants. On the other hand, manager of Emphoria Debashis Das on Sunday filed a counter FIR against Aravind and Ganesh alleging that SSB Electricals obstructed the company's works in Kendrapara, causing financial losses. Kendrapara Town IIC Dilip Sahoo said acting on the complaint of Aravind and Ganesh, police registered a case against Ankit and his sister under sections 318 (4), 296 and 3 (5) of BNS. Similarly, basing on the complaint of Emphoria's manager, a case was registered against Aravind and Ganesh under sections 351 (3), 296 and 3 (5) of BNS. Goldman Sachs Group has opened a new office in Mumbai's Worli business district as part of its expansion in India, Bloomberg reported on Monday. The New York-headquartered investment bank said the new premises are around 50% larger than its previous location in the city, reflecting its growth ambitions in the world's fourth-largest economy. 'Our new Mumbai office is the next chapter in our multi-decade growth trajectory in India, underscoring the substantial opportunities we see in the market," Bloomberg quoted Kevin Sneader, the firm's Asia Pacific (ex-Japan) president, as saying. Global financial firms, including Wall Street lenders and private equity houses, have been increasing their presence in India amid growing opportunities in the country's financial sector. Goldman Sachs, which has been serving clients in India since the 1980s, operates its largest office outside the United States in the country, according to the report. Last week, US-based rating agency S&P Global also upgraded India's sovereign rating to 'BBB' after more than 18 years, citing strong economic fundamentals that are likely to support growth in the next two to three years. It also pointed out that monetary policy has become 'increasingly conducive to managing inflationary expectations".
