5-star son of former NBA star schedules visit to Oregon basketball
Dana Altman and the Oregon Ducks have done a great job of rebuilding their roster this offseason. Using the transfer portal, they have again put together a team that hopes to contend in the Big Ten Conference and return to the NCAA Tournament.
The Ducks are also working to build a strong recruiting class in the future, and they're doing so by bringing in one of the top players in the 2026 recruiting class, 5-star small forward Tajh Ariza. 247Sports rates the son of former NBA star Trevor Ariza, Tajh, as the No. 4 player in the 2026 class.
Ariza will take an official visit to Oregon on September 6, according to On3's Joe Tipton. Ariza stands at 6-foot-8, 180 pounds, and is also considering schools like Arizona State, Arkansas, Kansas, Kansas State, Kentucky, UCLA, UNLV, and USC.
Altman is using a big football weekend to help with the visit, as the Oklahoma State Cowboys come to Eugene to face Dan Lanning and the Ducks that weekend in Eugene.
The Ducks currently have one commitment in the class of 2026, and he's a dual-sport athlete — 5-star tight end Kendre Harrison, who is rated as the No. 41 basketball player in the class and the No. 20 football player in the nation.

BYU men's basketball is building a non-conference schedule to match the program's high expectations for the 2025-26 season. Advertisement Athletic Director Brian Santiago announced at BYU's Fathers and Sons Basketball Camp that the Cougars will face North Carolina in an exhibition game at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City. The game will reportedly be in late October and will be the second of BYU's two preseason exhibitions. The Cougars will also travel to Nebraska as part of a home-and-home exhibition series. New NCAA rule allowing schools to play two Division I teams in public, televised exhibitions. As it stood previously, exhibitions were either closed to fans or had to be labeled as charity events. Now, programs can generate NIL revenue from these games, opening the door for high-profile matchups ahead of the regular season. The North Carolina and Nebraska games will not count toward BYU's record but mark the start of what is expected to be the most anticipated season in program history. BYU is likely to enter the season ranked in the preseason top 10. The regular season begins Nov. 3 when BYU faces Villanova in Las Vegas as part of the Hall of Fame Series. Villanova will debut new head coach Kevin Willard, who took over in April. The Cougars will also meet Clemson in the Jimmy V Classic at Madison Square Garden. The Tigers reached the Elite Eight in 2024 before suffering a first-round exit eariler this year. BYU is also scheduled to face Wisconsin on Nov. 21 in Salt Lake City, a rematch of their thrilling 91-89 win in the 2025 NCAA Tournament. Oregon Football's Kenyon Sadiq pegged as breakout NFL draft riser for 2025 In 2025, all signs point towards Kenyon Sadiq becoming a household name for the Oregon Ducks. With his talent, Sadiq would have been most anyone else's starting tight end for the past two seasons, but he had to play a backup role to Terrance Ferguson. Now it's his time to shine. Sadiq is one of the more experienced receivers on the Duck roster this coming season, and he's expected to have a breakout season in 2025. As a result, with his size, NFL scouts should have a field day rating him. Sadiq will be a hot commodity when the NFL draft rolls around. According to USA TODAY writer Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz, Sadiq could go high in the 2026 NFL selection process. "With second-round tight end Terrence Ferguson and top receivers Tez Johnson and Traeshon Holden off to the NFL, the Ducks are set for a reconfiguration in their receiving corps," he said. "Big things are expected of Evan Stewart as the former five-star recruit enters his second season in Eugene after transferring from Texas A&M, but Sadiq might be the true wild card for the offense. "At 6-3 and 245 pounds, he's a more formidable run blocker than his size might suggest. His true value, however, lies in his ability to create mismatches as a supersized receiver with impressive long speed. Sadiq will have to show he can handle being a featured part of the Ducks' offense and develop into something more than a seam threat, but he's one of the most intriguing draft-eligible tight ends to keep an eye on." The Oregon offense isn't expected to change a whole lot with quarterback Dante Moore under center, but just because of Sadiq's pure talent, the Ducks might go to him more, especially in the red zone and goal-line situations. He showed what he can do in those situations in the Big Ten title game, as he scored two touchdowns in the win over Penn State. Schedule: Game 1 at Oklahoma City on Thursday, Game 2 at Oklahoma City on Sunday, Game 3 at Indiana on June 11, Game 4 at Indiana on June 13, Game 5 at Oklahoma City on June 16 (if necessary), Game 6 at Indiana on June 19 (if necessary), Game 7 at Oklahoma City on June 22 (if necessary). How they got here: Oklahoma City overwhelmed Memphis in a first-round sweep, survived seven games against 2023 NBA champion Denver, then eliminated Minnesota in five games in the Western Conference finals. The Thunder finished off the series in a romp, leading by 39 points in a 124-94 victory, and are winning by about 11 points per game in the postseason. The Pacers aren't as dominant but find a way at the finish, taking out Milwaukee and top-seeded Cleveland in five games before knocking off New York in six in the East finals. Their four victories after trailing by 17 or more points are the most by a team in a single postseason. Storyline: The small markets get the big stage. For Oklahoma City, it's a second trip to the NBA Finals since moving from Seattle in 2008. The Thunder lost in their first try against Miami in 2012 but are heavy favorites in this one after compiling the NBA's best record behind MVP and scoring champion Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. The Pacers are making just their second NBA Finals appearance, having lost to the Lakers in 2000. Key matchup: Tyrese Haliburton vs. Lu Dort, Alex Caruso, Cason Wallace and Gilgeous-Alexander. Nobody can throw as many good defensive guards at a team as the Thunder, as Anthony Edwards found out when Oklahoma City limited him to 12-for-31 shooting in the final two games of the West finals. Haliburton is having a memorable postseason, hitting three game-winning or game-tying shots and topping all players with 9.8 assists. But the Thunder limited him well in the two regular-season matchups, holding the All-NBA point guard to 11 points and 5.5 assists per game. X-factor: Indiana's defense. The Pacers are potent, with their 117.4 points per game in the postseason the second-highest ever by a team entering the NBA Finals. But even they can't count on offense alone against a top defensive squad like Oklahoma City. The Pacers are going to have to slow down the Thunder and showed no signs of being able to in the regular season, as Oklahoma City reached 30 points in six of the eight quarters they played and averaged 126 per game. Prediction: The Thunder are top-to-bottom the best team in the NBA. The Pacers' road success and high-scoring offense allow them to compete in this series but not win it.
