5-star son of former NBA star schedules visit to Oregon basketball

5-star son of former NBA star schedules visit to Oregon basketball Dana Altman and the Oregon Ducks have done a great job of rebuilding their roster this offseason. Using the transfer portal, they have again put together a team that hopes to contend in the Big Ten Conference and return to the NCAA Tournament. The Ducks are also working to build a strong recruiting class in the future, and they're doing so by bringing in one of the top players in the 2026 recruiting class, 5-star small forward Tajh Ariza. 247Sports rates the son of former NBA star Trevor Ariza, Tajh, as the No. 4 player in the 2026 class. Ariza will take an official visit to Oregon on September 6, according to On3's Joe Tipton. Ariza stands at 6-foot-8, 180 pounds, and is also considering schools like Arizona State, Arkansas, Kansas, Kansas State, Kentucky, UCLA, UNLV, and USC. Altman is using a big football weekend to help with the visit, as the Oklahoma State Cowboys come to Eugene to face Dan Lanning and the Ducks that weekend in Eugene. The Ducks currently have one commitment in the class of 2026, and he's a dual-sport athlete — 5-star tight end Kendre Harrison, who is rated as the No. 41 basketball player in the class and the No. 20 football player in the nation. Oregon Basketball picks up transfer from former 5-star Ohio State Buckeye Sean Stewart

Dana Altman and the Oregon Ducks added another valuable piece to the roster on Wednesday out of the transfer portal. Former Ohio State power forward and McDonald's All-American Sean Stewart announced he will be transferring to Oregon for the 2025-26 season. The 6-foot-9 Stewart solidifies a nice roster heading into next season for Dana Altman and crew. Stewart will be a junior next season after averaging 5.7 points and 5.8 rebounds a game for the Buckeyes last year. He started out at Duke. Adding Stewart is a big get for the Ducks as he should be the first one coming off the bench to give either Kwame Evans or Nate Bittle a break, assuming Bittle returns to the Ducks for one more season. Altman has been busy dabbling in the transfer this offseason, as he has retained the services of point guard TK Simpkins (Elon), center Miles Goodman (Penn State), and forward Devon Pryor (Texas). Oregon Ducks make contact with Monmouth sharp-shooter in transfer portal

Oregon Ducks make contact with Monmouth sharp-shooter in transfer portal After a second-round exit in the 2025 NCAA Tournament, Dana Altman and the Oregon Ducks are now focusing on the offseason and building out a roster for next year. On Saturday, the Ducks landed a commitment from Texas Longhorns transfer Devon Pryer. A 6-foot-7 small forward who played in just seven games as a freshman for the Longhorns, he played in 24 games as a sophomore this season, averaging just over 12 minutes per game. Now it appears that the Ducks have a focus on acquiring some shooting out of the portal, making contact with Monmouth guard Abdi Bashir. According to 247Sports' London, Oregon is one of many schools to reach out to Bashir, who was voted to the All-CAA First Team this past season after averaging 20.1 points per game on 37.7% FG, 38.3% 3FG, and 86.8% FT. Bashir led the country in made 3-pointers with 121, four shy of the CAA's all-time mark. Bashir started 32 of 33 games for Monmouth this season, averaging 2.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists, taking an average of 10 3-pointers per game. This is the type of player that Oregon needs on the roster, especially with Keeshawn Barthelemy graduating. The Ducks' struggled with shooting from deep at times this past year, and could benefit greatly from a sharp-shooter who does nothing but pull up from deep at a high clip.

Oregon Ducks make contact with sharp-shooting guard from North Dakota State

Oregon Ducks make contact with sharp-shooting guard from North Dakota State The Oregon Ducks saw their season come to an end on Sunday night at the hands of the Arizona Wildcats in the second round of the 2025 NCAA Tournament. While it was a frustrating end to the year, with the Ducks missing ten free throws in an 87-83 loss, the year was still a success, with Dana Altman winning yet another first-round tournament game. Now, the Ducks will turn toward the offseason and work on constructing their roster for next season. That starts with the transfer portal, where there are a number of needs for Altman to fill as he tries to bring back the best players from last year's team. According to On3's Joe Tipton, Oregon has already made contact with one high-profile portal player — North Dakota State transfer Jacari White. A senior with one year of eligibility remaining, White is a sharp-shooting guard who averaged 17.1 points per game in 2024-25. In his three years with the Bison, White has hit 35%, 45%, and 39% from beyond the arc. One of the major needs for Oregon in the portal this year is a dynamic shooting guard who can knock down threes with consistency. There are a lot of teams after White, but the Ducks may be able to get him on a visit to Eugene and pair him up with Jackson Shelstad, adding some firepower to the offense in Matthew Knight Arena.

Oregon fans react to Ducks March Madness blowout over Liberty Flames

Oregon Duck fans had to wait a long time for their favorite team to tip things off in the 2025 NCAA Tournament finally, but the result was well worth the wait. In the final game of the first round of March Madness, Dana Altman's Ducks laid waste to the Liberty Flames, dominating from start to finish with an 81-52 blowout win. In a game that was expected to be kept close due to Liberty's ability to shoot from deep, it was Oregon who found the range early on and shot their way to an early 18-2 lead in the first half. From there, the Ducks' were able to use their size and stingy defense to keep the Flames at bay for the rest of the game, ultimately stretching the lead to 30 points in the second half before benches were emptied and substitutes entered the game. It was an excellent way for the Ducks to kick off the tournament, but things won't be easy in the future. On Sunday night, Oregon will face off against the No. 4 seed Arizona Wildcats, giving us a vintage Pac-12 rivalry from years past. Before we get to that, though, let's enjoy the blowout win from the first round for the Ducks.
