Oregon Ducks to play Gonzaga Bulldogs in neutral-site basketball game

The Oregon Ducks men's basketball team is finally scheduling a game that fans have wanted to see for quite some time in Eugene. In 2025, Oregon will face off against the Gonzaga Bulldogs on December 21st at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon. CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein was the first to report the news. The Pacific Northwest matchup hasn't occurred since 2019, when Gonzaga came away with a 73-72 overtime victory in the Bad Boy Mowers Battle 4 Atlantis tournament. The Ducks lead the all-time series 19-4 over the Bulldogs, with the majority of the games dating back over 50 years. The meeting will feature two of the best coaches in the country in Oregon's Dana Altman and Gonzaga's Mark Few, with Altman having 780 career wins to Few's 742. They rank 16th and 22nd, respectively, in head coaching wins in college basketball history. This will be a coveted ticket at the Moda Center, giving fans an early Christmas present with two Pacific Northwest teams facing off. Oregon basketball offers No. 1 prospect in 2027 class

Oregon basketball offers No. 1 prospect in 2027 class Dana Altman is always on the hunt for the next great player to come through Eugene, and he has his eyes set on small forward Baba Oladotun out of Maryland. Oladotun is the No. 1 recruit in the Class of 2027, so the Ducks have plenty of time to sell him on what the Ducks have to offer. The 6-foot-9, 175-pounder from Silver Spring, MD, and James Hubert Blake High School has plenty to offer the Ducks or any other school he decides to attend. As the No. 1 recruit in the country, his choices will be plentiful. He's the top-ranked junior, and with his size, for now, Oladotun is a lanky forward who has nice range for his height. It will be interesting to see how his build and game change in the next two seasons as he fills out. The Ducks will surely be looking for someone to fill the spot Kwame Evans will leave behind, and Oladotun looks like he could be the perfect fit. But Oregon will have a lot of competition for his services. So far, he has over 30 offers to choose from, and no doubt that number will rise in the next year. 5-star son of former NBA star schedules visit to Oregon basketball

5-star son of former NBA star schedules visit to Oregon basketball Dana Altman and the Oregon Ducks have done a great job of rebuilding their roster this offseason. Using the transfer portal, they have again put together a team that hopes to contend in the Big Ten Conference and return to the NCAA Tournament. The Ducks are also working to build a strong recruiting class in the future, and they're doing so by bringing in one of the top players in the 2026 recruiting class, 5-star small forward Tajh Ariza. 247Sports rates the son of former NBA star Trevor Ariza, Tajh, as the No. 4 player in the 2026 class. Ariza will take an official visit to Oregon on September 6, according to On3's Joe Tipton. Ariza stands at 6-foot-8, 180 pounds, and is also considering schools like Arizona State, Arkansas, Kansas, Kansas State, Kentucky, UCLA, UNLV, and USC. Altman is using a big football weekend to help with the visit, as the Oklahoma State Cowboys come to Eugene to face Dan Lanning and the Ducks that weekend in Eugene. The Ducks currently have one commitment in the class of 2026, and he's a dual-sport athlete — 5-star tight end Kendre Harrison, who is rated as the No. 41 basketball player in the class and the No. 20 football player in the nation. Oregon Basketball picks up transfer from former 5-star Ohio State Buckeye Sean Stewart

Dana Altman and the Oregon Ducks added another valuable piece to the roster on Wednesday out of the transfer portal. Former Ohio State power forward and McDonald's All-American Sean Stewart announced he will be transferring to Oregon for the 2025-26 season. The 6-foot-9 Stewart solidifies a nice roster heading into next season for Dana Altman and crew. Stewart will be a junior next season after averaging 5.7 points and 5.8 rebounds a game for the Buckeyes last year. He started out at Duke. Adding Stewart is a big get for the Ducks as he should be the first one coming off the bench to give either Kwame Evans or Nate Bittle a break, assuming Bittle returns to the Ducks for one more season. Altman has been busy dabbling in the transfer this offseason, as he has retained the services of point guard TK Simpkins (Elon), center Miles Goodman (Penn State), and forward Devon Pryor (Texas). Oregon Ducks make contact with Monmouth sharp-shooter in transfer portal

Oregon Ducks make contact with Monmouth sharp-shooter in transfer portal After a second-round exit in the 2025 NCAA Tournament, Dana Altman and the Oregon Ducks are now focusing on the offseason and building out a roster for next year. On Saturday, the Ducks landed a commitment from Texas Longhorns transfer Devon Pryer. A 6-foot-7 small forward who played in just seven games as a freshman for the Longhorns, he played in 24 games as a sophomore this season, averaging just over 12 minutes per game. Now it appears that the Ducks have a focus on acquiring some shooting out of the portal, making contact with Monmouth guard Abdi Bashir. According to 247Sports' London, Oregon is one of many schools to reach out to Bashir, who was voted to the All-CAA First Team this past season after averaging 20.1 points per game on 37.7% FG, 38.3% 3FG, and 86.8% FT. Bashir led the country in made 3-pointers with 121, four shy of the CAA's all-time mark. Bashir started 32 of 33 games for Monmouth this season, averaging 2.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists, taking an average of 10 3-pointers per game. This is the type of player that Oregon needs on the roster, especially with Keeshawn Barthelemy graduating. The Ducks' struggled with shooting from deep at times this past year, and could benefit greatly from a sharp-shooter who does nothing but pull up from deep at a high clip.
