'I tried Greggs sausage roll dipped in KFC gravy and it was a game-changer'
As a northerner who regards himself as somewhat of a gravy expert, it would be reasonable to say that I have faced tougher challenges at work.
The Greggs sausage roll is undoubtedly a national icon: a beloved hangover remedy, a swift bite, a light meal or a post-evening out ritual. For countless people, the notion it could be enhanced seems far-fetched, but I believe them to be mistaken, writes Conor Wilson from the Express.
This afternoon, I sampled the fresh partnership between KFC and Greggs which will see the renowned sausage roll paired with gravy. This review comes after news of a ' Brit abroad slams all-inclusive hotel food asking 'what on earth is this?'
Similar to wheels on luggage, it left me pondering how we managed so long without combining these two items together. I approach this with no fast-food loyalty and have always found it somewhat peculiar how obsessive the American chain became over its seasonings. Relax guys, honestly.
I have yet to find a dish that gravy doesn't improve and after dunking a Greggs sausage roll into a substantial portion of KFC gravy, the quest carries on.
Greggs and KFC are joining forces to deliver the "mash up the nation's been craving." The brands revealed the partnership came after Britons devoured 15,000 litres of KFC gravy and over one million Greggs sausage rolls daily throughout the previous year.
They will be taking their fresh creation on a three-day journey from Thursday and will be distributing it complimentary in London on August 7.
This will be followed by Manchester on August 8 and Newcastle on August 9. A sharing bucket featuring six Greggs sausage rolls and a large tub of KFC gravy will be up for grabs at £10 on 15th and 16th August.
Available through Uber Eats in London, Manchester, Newcastle and Birmingham the KFC brand manager Phoebe Syms declared: "At KFC, we bleed gravy. We go to obsessive lengths for our liquid gold, and so do our fans".
She added: "Now we're joining forces for just a few days to give the people a taste of what they really want … it's time for gravy to meet pastry. You're welcome".
The tour is set to make stops at London's Southbank Centre on Thursday, followed by Manchester's Cathedral Gardens on Friday and then Newcastle's Times Square, all between 12pm and 5pm, with supplies available on a first come, first served basis.

Plans to turn Bothwell Street building into 'upper scale' hotel
If plans are approved, a largely empty Glasgow city centre building will be transformed into a hotel, aiming to be one of the operator's best in Europe. According to design documents lodged with the council, the B-listed property on Bothwell Street is one of the largest American-Classical-style commercial buildings in the city. Plans have been submitted to redevelop the former offices and add an extension to turn them into a new 'upper-scale hotel' with 235 rooms. Details of the hotel chain aiming to take it over have been kept confidential in planning documents. A design statement said: 'The proposed confidential hotel operator is particularly excited about the potential provided by the building to create a best-in-class hotel of distinction, which they anticipate will be one of the finest in their operator's European portfolio.' It added: 'The listed building is soon to become entirely unoccupied. The commercial office use for which the building was built and designed is no longer viable. The building has early indications of corrosion of the structural steel frame, which needs to be addressed to prevent damage to the significant external masonry façade.' Proposals include adding a two-storey roof extension to the existing eight-storey office block. The design document continued: 'The proposed development is conservation-led and will integrate and repurpose the significant parts of the listed building into the new hotel use, whilst retaining its external appearance and presence within the street.' HFD Property Group Limited have applied for planning permission to change the use of building from 'offices at upper floors and restaurant/cafe and retail on ground floor to hotel with ancillary uses at upper and part ground floor, rooftop extension and external alterations.' Construction of number 95 Bothwell Street finished in the early 1930's by Scottish Legal Life Assurance company. Glasgow City Council is considering the application. Miami is officially home to the most expensive neighborhood in the U.S.
Back off, Beverly Hills—you might be a catchall for "wealthy people," but Miami has officially snatched the crown for the most expensive neighborhood in the country. That's right, Rodeo Drive has nothing on Gables Estates, according to a new ranking based on Zillow's monthly home value data. And that's with only 179 lots! Hidden away in Coral Gables like a billionaire's daydream, Gables Estates is less a neighborhood and more a gated fantasy for people who don't just want but need a waterfront and private docks. Located just off Biscayne Bay, the community boasts 24/7 security (because of course) and the kind of lush landscaping that it takes an army of employees to maintain in Miami's climate. Zillow's July 2025 home value index analyzed home values from the last 12 months, weighing sales transactions, tax assessments and public records, as well as square footage and location. But if you have a couple of million lying around, don't get too excited just yet. There's more to living in Gables Estates than just wealth. It may be Florida, but this community maintains rigid standards when it comes to new neighbors. Anyone interested in becoming a denizen has to be approved for membership in the homeowners association, Gables Estates Club Inc. And before that, just to apply to maybe be considered requires a nonrefundable, $100,000 membership fee ($105,000 for non-American buyers), as well as a presentation to the association's governing board. You're still not done: To complete the application process, you'll also need two sponsors already voting members in the homeowners association, letters of recommendation, an accounting of your social or business club memberships and at least two banking references. All to live in a neighborhood that boasts an average age of 60. Gables Estates isn't the only expensive neighborhood in Florida, either. Of the 10 priciest places to live on Zillow's list, a full seven are in the Sunshine State. (Speaking of sunshine, California claimed the remaining three slots.) Blame the lack of income state tax and the gorgeous winters for the influx of the very wealthy to Miami; if we could manage even one of those application requirements, we'd consider Gables Estates, too!
