
Rotana Signs secures 10-year OOH contract for Makkah
This landmark 10-year concession, valued at more than SAR 600m, marks a major advancement in Makkah's advertising landscape that will see more than 600 premium advertising sites installed across the city. The advertising network will feature a diverse mix of various digital, static and transit formats, positioned and strategically located to serve the growing demand for advertiser presence, all while maintaining the city's unique cultural and spiritual identity.
This project is a key component of the broader urban development unfolding across Makkah, aligned with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 objectives of economic diversification, urban enhancement and enriching the public's experiences. While preserving Makkah's inherent identity, the alliance will roll out state-of-the-art advertising structures that elevate the city's visual environment without compromising its heritage.

Salam and Syrian Ministry of Communications sign MoU
The agreement aims to develop Syrias digital infrastructure and expand access to high-quality telecommunications services. As part of the Saudi-Syrian Investment Forum held in Damascus under the patronage of Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa, Etihad Salam Telecom Company (Salam) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Syrias Ministry of Communications and Technology. The agreement aims to accelerate the development of the country's digital infrastructure and expand access to high-quality telecommunications services. The MoU sets out a collaborative plan to explore the establishment of IP Points of Presence (IP Nodes PoPs) in both Damascus and Aleppo. These infrastructure nodes will allow Salam to deliver highly reliable local and international Tier-1 connectivity, supporting Syrias ambitions for digital transformation and broader technological advancement. The initiative reinforces their joint commitment to developing national talent and accelerating Saudi Arabia's digital transformation. The opening ceremony was attended by several high-ranking officials. These included H.E. Haytham AlOhali, Vice Minister of Communications and Information Technology; H.E. Chang Hua, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Saudi Arabia; and Eng. Murhaf Bin Mohammed Al-Madani, Assistant Minister for Development and Transformation at the Ministry of Education. Other attendees included Eng. Mansour bin Saleh Al-Qurashi, Deputy Minister for International Cooperation and Partnerships; Safa Al-Rashed, Deputy Minister of Future Jobs and Capabilities; and Liam Zhao, Chairman of the Board at Huawei Saudi Arabia. Huawei revealed that the Center is an evolution of the Future Space exhibition, launched in 2022 in collaboration with the Saudi Space Commission (SSC). This exhibition is the largest of its kind outside China. It features emerging technologies such as autonomous driving, 3D printing, and brainwave-controlled robotics. He stated that the Future Skills Center offers advanced training in digital technologies, aligned with the goals of Vision 2030. Huawei and MCIT previously announced plans at the 2025 LEAP Summit to expand Future Space into a broader Future Skills framework. The new center will serve as a hub for innovation, skills development, and practical learning in technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), 5G, and smart applications. Ambassador Chang Hua highlighted the collaboration between China and Saudi Arabia in education, innovation, and technology. He described the project as a symbol of shared values in knowledge exchange and sustainable growth. Liam Zhao from Huawei added that the launch reflects Huawei's ongoing efforts to empower Saudi youth and grow local digital capabilities. Huawei confirmed that the Future Skills Center aligns with national strategies to build a knowledge-based, digitally enabled society. It will offer certifications, training, and hands-on experiences to inspire the next generation of tech leaders in Saudi Arabia.
