Sainsbury's to make major loyalty scheme change that saves shoppers £150
Sainsbury's is set to make a major change to its loyalty scheme. For the first time, customers will be able to access 'personalised' discounts at the checkout.
Starting from next Friday, July 25, the supermarket chain has confirmed members will be able to access the highly customised 'Your Nectar Prices' at the tills, allowing them to save money on their favourite products while they scan.
The personalised offer provides shoppers with discounts across their favourite products, with the supermarket also recommending price cuts on items they think members will love based on previous shopping history.
At the moment, shoppers can only find the exclusive 'Your Nectar Prices' when they make any orders online, or when they use the Smart Shop app or hand-set when in store.
However, as of next Friday, anyone with a Nectar card will be able to access the offer and make even more savings by simply scanning their Nectar card at the till when in store.
As reported by the Sun, Sainsbury's believes that this change will be beneficial to 8.5 million members, potentially saving them up to an impressive £150 a year.
The discounts, which refresh every Friday, will give shoppers savings on everyday essentials and and new favourite items, offering 10 personalised offers at a time based on their shopping habits.
Mark Given, chief marketing, data and sustainability officer at Sainsbury's, said: "We're leading the way by making loyalty personal.
"Shoppers want to feel recognised and rewarded and while Nectar Prices are for everyone, we know our customers love an offer that is made just for them.
"That's exactly what Your Nectar Prices delivers – it's about giving customers those extra savings on the products they love and buy most."

Sainsbury's Nectar loyalty scheme, which was first launched in 2002, is said to boast around 18 million active members across the UK.
Initially beginning with just four partner companies, it has grown to become the largest loyalty scheme in the country, as it now includes over 14 companies and 400 online retailers.
Not only can members earn points on their groceries when at the supermarket, but they can also do so on purchases made from an assortment of other retailers via the Nectar Online store such as Apple, Next, Sky and Waterstones.
In 2023, the supermarket helped to offer lower prices to all of its loyalty members with the launch of its 'Nectar Prices', with the initiative said to offer discounts across hundreds of products from groceries to household items.
Meanwhile, in other supermarket money-saving news, Asda has announced it will be offering shoppers the chance to win 'free fuel' at one of its forecourts when they find a 'hidden' ticket in store.
From tomorrow, Friday, July 18 and running until Monday, August 25, the firm is celebrating its 60th anniversary by hiding 40 golden tickets among some of its products in stores, with lucky winners able to fill up for free at one of the grocer's forecourts for 12 months, excluding Express sites.

Another alternative is the JBL Live Beam 3, priced at £119.99 on the JBL website, reduced from £179.99. While these alternatives offer solid features, the Beats Fit Pro earbuds has garnered a 4.1 out of 5 stars rating from 8,326 reviews, reflecting strong user satisfaction overall. One user shared, 'I genuinely adore these. As someone who frequently found the AirPods and AirPod Pros would fall out their ear too easily these stay in place perfectly.. "The Bluetooth connectivity was perfect and very easy to use, these have almost all the functionality of an AirPod but with better shape.' Another reviewer reported a common issue, stating, 'It is my second pair and it arrived with the same issue as the first one: only one (left) AirPod works. "Headphones case can recognise and charge both earbuds but neither iPhone (15) nor the Android phone (Samsung S24 Ultra) can make both AirPods play music.' Another positive comment read, 'Absolutely love the Beats Fit Pro! These earbuds have completely transformed my daily listening experience. "The active noise cancelling is fantastic, blocks out background noise so I can fully immerse myself in my music, podcasts, or calls.' Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! On the flip side, some users find the fit problematic during exercise. One said, 'They're not very good for the gym and constantly fall out of my ears. Need to be sweat proof. I often find that I am having to adjust the earphones for them to fit in my ears. Little disappointed and looking for replacement as these are not doing the job.' Another reviewer praised the earbuds' performance and customer service: 'The first pair I received were faulty (left bud wouldn't connect). Amazon got me a replacement within 24 hours, excellent customer service. "New pair are outstanding, great sound and comfortable, easy to use, noise cancelling is great too, plenty of battery life too... highly recommended.' Overall, the Beats Fit Pro earbuds offer a blend of comfort, sound quality, and features suitable for everyday use, though some have experienced fit or connectivity issues.

As of yesterday, August 11, patrons with a Blue Light card are now able to get 10 percent off any meal at any time of the day, and there is no minimum spend required. Available seven days a week across 344 Morrisons cafes, it marks the first time that the exclusive money-saving initiative has been offered in any supermarket cafe for those signed up to the discount service. It costs members £4.99 for two years, with an array of offers across shopping, holidays, dining, tech, groceries, insurance, and more when purchases are made online and in store. As for Morrisons' cafe deal, it is the first of its kind to be offered by any supermarket, with others offering Blue Light cardholders discounts on gift card purchases. Those who present a valid card at the till when visiting one of the grocer's cafes will be able to access the 10 percent discount across a range of family favourites such as fish & chips and bangers & mash. Shoppers can also get Morrisons' legendary Big Breakfast for during an early morning start, alongside lighter bites for lunch such as the Three Cheese Toastie. I was earning £800 a month at Sainsbury's so quit to flog second hand car boot sale buys – I easily make £2K now
Scroll for the top five side hustles CASH IN I was earning £800 a month at Sainsbury's so quit to flog second hand car boot sale buys – I easily make £2K now A MUM managed to double her income selling second-hand bargains she found in charity shops and car boot sales. Emily Derrick used to juggle Sainsbury's night shifts while looking after her two children before she started selling items on Vinted as a side hustle. Advertisement 6 Emily Derrick quit her Sainsbury's job and has since doubled her income selling second-hand items Credit: JAM PRESS 6 Emily rummages through car boots and charity shops to find hidden gems Credit: JAM PRESS The 28-year-old made some serious profits early on, snapping up a Buffalo coat for just £2 and selling it for £95. She also scored platform brogues worth over £200 for just a few pounds. She eventually decided to quit her part-time Sainsbury's job, where she was earning just £800 a month in May 2025, to focus full time on reselling. Since then, she's doubled her income, now raking in more than £2,000 a month. Advertisement 'It was a hobby that got out of hand,' the mum-of-two said. 'My love of thrifting definitely started from a young age. 'As soon as I hit teenage years and started selling my own stuff, my mum would buy me really expensive things. 'I would end up selling those things just to get a buzz. Advertisement 'I loved feeling like I had my own little shop.' One of Emily's best finds so far has been a pair of Gina shoes worth £695. I've made £5.6k on Vinted and here are the 7 items you need to upload now to make cash quick - white maxi skirts will sell instantly for a start She bought the heels, which had never been worn, for just £9.99 at a local St Peter's Hospice. The mum had them verified by customer services at the store, who confirmed the shoes retailed at £695 when new. Advertisement Emily, who also sells on Tilt and eBay, said: 'I could tell from the search history that the shoes were worth something. 'They were from 2018 but never worn. 'When I searched them on Google Lens, the only ones that were coming up, you could rent them. 'Whenever you can rent an item, it's an expensive brand. Advertisement 'There was one available for £300 in Dubai. 'There was very little amount of info on there but I knew they would be worth something. 'I thought, 'Right, quick, let's get to the till!'' Since August last year, Emily's made over £11,000 on Vinted alone – all from items picked up at charity shops and car boot sales. Advertisement She said: 'When I started in August last year, I was doing it part-time while doing a night shift job and loved it. 'I started selling stuff on Vinted and was going to the charity shops every day. 'Working at Sainsbury's grocery picking wasn't ideal with the early hours and looking after the kids.' Her top tips include using Google Lens to research items and not being afraid to go for brands you haven't heard of, as long as the item looks good quality – often these turn out to be hidden gems. Advertisement She added: 'If you're trying to resell, find stuff that works for you. 'It takes a long time to see what works. 'Just try out different brands. 'I did it and now I've turned my love of thrifting into a full-time job.'
