Bhubaneswar: As the nation mourned the massacre of 26 tourists in Kashmir's Pahalgam, several people across Odisha have updated their social media profile pictures with the image of
Prasant Satpathy
to honour the Odia tourist who fell victim to the terrorists' bullets in the valley.
"Prasant was not just another tourist, he was one of our own. His death has shaken us," said Sourav Chandra Sekhar Sahoo, a Bhubaneswar-based working professional. "I replaced my Facebook display picture with Prasant Satpathy. This is our way of showing that Odisha stands united in grief and remembrance," he added.
Exhibiting collective grief and solidarity, people like Sourav have launched the digital memorial movement on various social media platforms like Facebook, X and Instagram. Hashtags such as #StandWithPahalgam and #KashmirMemories have been trending locally, with users sharing personal stories of Kashmir's hospitality and natural beauty while denouncing the violent attack.
Swadhin Padhy, another Bhubaneswar native, said: "I will keep Prasant Satpathy's profile picture until the perpetrators are punished."

Sharing a photo in her social media handle, popular Ollywood actress Elina Samantray wrote: "This is not just news. This is the loss of 28 innocent lives. We could have been there. Let's not sit silently and watch. It's time to stand strong and united."
The victim's relatives have expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support from countless people. "The solidarity shown by people has given us strength during this difficult time. We are hopeful that Indian govt will not spare the terrorists," said Satpathy's relative Pradipta Mishra in Balasore.
"Hon'ble PM Shri @narendramodi reaffirmed that India will leave no stone unturned in the fight against terrorism. Every terrorist and their backers will be identified, tracked, and punished. India stands united with an unbreakable resolve, and the support of peace-loving nations strengthens our mission for justice," read an 'X' post by the Odisha chief minister's office with #IndiaFightsTerror #NationFirst hashtags.

'Am I going to war ... ': Pakistan politician Sherry Rehman gets flustered when grilled on Pakistan's terror links; watch video

Sherry Rehman Former Pakistani ambassador Sherry Rehman engaged in a heated exchange with Sky News when asked questions over allegations of Pakistan harbouring terrorist organizations, particularly in light of the recent Pahalgam attack. When questioned about Brigade 313, which TRAC (Terrorism Research and Analysis Consortium) analysts identify as an Al Qaeda-affiliated umbrella group operating in Pakistan, Rehman responded defensively. "I don't know who told you this, but I can produce any number of pages saying all this," she retorted, suggesting the creation of a "digital dossier" to counter such claims. She further deflected by pointing to India's internal conflicts: "Are we responsible for all 100 insurgencies running in India?" — SkyYaldaHakim (@SkyYaldaHakim) The interviewer, Hakim, referenced " Operation Sindoor ," which targeted nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) following the Pahalgam attack. UN-designated terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) had also confirmed that its top commander Masood Asghar and ten family members were killed in Bahawalpur during these strikes. Rehman's cryptic response, "Children are not leaders," was followed by her questioning the credibility of international analysts. "Most of the analysts you're quoting are aligned with India's narrative. They only tell India's story," she argued, dismissing claims about Brigade 313's Al Qaeda connections. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 오스템 임플란트 받아가세요 임플란터 더 알아보기 Undo Rehman has long been a prominent voice in Pakistani politics. Piyush Goyal meets Indian Business Delegates in Switzerland, explores new trade and investment opportunities b/w both nations

Bern [Switzerland], June 10 (ANI): Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal held a meeting with Indian business delegates in Switzerland to discuss new opportunities, partnerships, and avenues for trade and investment between India and Switzerland. The meeting was part of his two-day visit to Switzerland and came during his official tour to Switzerland and Sweden from June 9 to 13, 2025. In a social media post on Tuesday, the minister shared, 'Spent an engaging evening with Indian business delegates. Held insightful conversations on exciting opportunities, partnerships, and new avenues for trade & investment between India & Switzerland, emerging from the India-EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement.' The India-EFTA (European Free Trade Association) Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement, which was recently signed, has opened new doors for enhanced cooperation between India and EFTA member countries, including Switzerland. Goyal's discussions with the business delegates focused on how to best leverage the agreement to boost economic ties. Earlier on Monday, the minister began his Switzerland visit with a lunch interaction with CEOs of select Swiss companies and prospective investors who are exploring investment possibilities in India. The meeting provided a platform for the business leaders to share their plans and learn more about India's investment environment. In another social media post, the minister also talked about his visit to the Swiss Parliament, where he met with Swiss Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin. Sharing the experience, Goyal said, 'Had a wonderful experience today visiting the Swiss Parliament and meeting my friend @ParmelinG, Swiss Federal Councillor. Had the opportunity to view some precious lithograph paintings, titled Cortege, made by the renowned Swiss-French architect Le Corbusier during his stay in Chandigarh in 1960. Truly a proud moment and a reflection of the longstanding artistic and cultural ties between India and Switzerland.' In addition to these meetings, Goyal also held a series of sectoral interactions with CEOs of several Swiss pharmaceutical and life sciences companies. These companies are considering making investments in India and strengthening their presence in the Indian market. The visit reflects India's ongoing efforts to deepen its economic and cultural relationships with Switzerland and attract foreign investment across key sectors. (ANI)
